Real nice just one thing I’ve noticed is about 11:30 you show the extending couch (really smart idea) a little upgrade you can do is the white legs on the extension part looks a bit flimsy and wobbly, if there is space and time build (hopefully I can explain with clarity) as if you are making a picture big frame out of 2x4 with support beams down the middle (same direction as the drawers not like how it is now) and add wheels or furniture pads at the bottom. Edit: basically just turn the support beams the other direction.
If you stop by a garage door shop they can take a little tension off your back drop gate so it will not bob up and down I saw you put a couple rocks on the end to help keep it down. Awesome build love the truck.
All that room and no toilet? Composting toilets have very limited capasity. Also most camping areas won't allow Grey water from your shower to dump on the ground.
Man I cannot thank you enough for this comment… it was a tough but very rewarding process and when someone sees what we put into it, it makes it all worth it. Thank you again for the support, have a good one 🙏🏻
@@the.desertcruiser I would actually argue that this is better than an Earthroamer! It's a much more thoughtfully planned out build with a more practical and spacious layout! Plus it definitely has more character, as it is built more for the individual rather than the same old average cookie cutter design that these big brand name companies tend to put out. And the biggest plus is that this probably doesn't carry the $million+ bloated pricetag that brands like Earthroamer have for what is, in my opinion, inferior quality compared to this. Obviously a lot of that can be attributed to the long hours of hard work and dedication that you guys put in by doing a lot of the build yourself but I'd say that it was 100% worth it, as you now have a beautiful home on wheels that you can be proud of and that you know completely inside and out down to the studs. Which is a real benefit when your home is mobile and therefore is continually being put through extreme stress and vibration that a traditional house on a foundation isn't subjected to and pair that with the reality of frequently traveling through and camping in incredibly remote areas. So it's definitely nice to have a thorough understanding of how everything is put together/comes apart and how all your systems operate. Anyways, wishing you two all the best on this new chapter of your life. Here's to making many new memories and safe travels! ✌️🌎🕊️
Awesome build. Love how you used every little space for something. I love the garage as well. I'm a big mountain biker so I can appreciate that. May you both be safe in your travels !!
Hey Jamie! Thanks for the comment, the garage came out so dang good. Honestly better than planned, thankfully! haha Cheers and maybe we will see you on the trails one day!
Thanks for sharing this job with everyone. I especially appreciate the extra care used to make everything as sturdy and long lasting as possible. The only thing I would done differently is using tempered glass glazed windows instead of acrylic. My best suggestion is to always cover them when not in use and to buy and use the best recommended treatment to polish and protect in order to extend the life of the acrylic. Happy Camping!!😊
thank you so much! There aren't many options for windows like this, you either spend thousands of dollars for glass windows from Europe or Australia, or go with something like this. They are very high quality, much cheaper than glass and much much lighter. We had all of the necessary polish / cleaners to keep our windows looking good! Thanks :)
Amazing. Spacious, airy, clean, comfortable, aesthetically beautiful and contains all you need for lots of time away from the crowded city life. All you need for a healthy life. Congratulations on a very thoughtful build. I hope you enjoy it for as long as you want to.
Thank you so much, you nailed pretty much everything we were going for! We have been absolutely loving it this past year and cannot wait to continue living out of it :)
Incredible design and build. Innovative. Very well done. That gray tank system seems like a weak link. I'm sure you'll re-vist that? Electrical system is off the hook. Wow.
thank you so much! The electric system is so epic! Not sure what you mean by weak link, I think it's the contrary! It's so simple nothing can fail! haha

Hey Eric!! That is awesome, we really appreciate your support and the comment!! Maybe we will see you in Germany one day, the dream is to ship the truck to Europe :) cheers!
@@ericsteffen8253 I've heard its very expensive over there! Canada and Mexico is the same for us, at $5-6 USD per Gallon. But they are beautiful places so it is what it is! haha

What a fantastic layout! Beyond that, you really created the ability to get to and stay off-grid. Very homey, practical, and great storage. Well-done!😊
I really appreciate this build - it seems more attainable by the average DIY couple than the ultra-fabricated builds (like the also-incredible Ambition Strikes build from a couple years ago). A ❤ beautiful floor plan and design features. But $1,700+ for a 4 cubic ft. Refrigerator/freezer is a bit rich. I built on a 2013 cab chassis Cargo truck and a 8x8x12 box keeping the barn doors adding a similar back porch with self designed Modular wall panels to increase my secure living space by 60+ sq. Ft. Stored inside the platform.
"With Earth Roamers or similar Unimog builds costing anywhere from 600k - 1Million dollars, the two of them set out to build a comparable vehicle for a fraction of the cost." as you stated 600k to One Million, where did you answer the biggest of all questions, how much did yours cost? I am thinking of doing the same build and need this information. What was your final "Fraction of the Cost" number? I am looking at used Roamers and Unimogs but found your video, and was convinced I need to consider this route. How can I get that information from you? Please and Thank You...🙂

Amazing well thought out truck have yall thought about a triangular nose cone to have in closed storage over the cab, more secure and biggest reason better fuel economy. Not that that is a thought with the beast, but Very well thought out beautiful truck
Definitely in the top 2 DIY Earthroamers I’ve ever seen on YT. One question by you guys mostly living off grid are there any future plans of you adding outside KC/Baja lights to this phenomenal rig ??
Hi Cody, As you know, with any RV, the SHORTER the BETTER when DRIVING, and the BIGGER the BETTER when PARKED! So, with that being said, I have 2 questions: First, what is YOUR "OPINION" about the "IDEAL" LENGTH (Bumper to Bumper) for an EXPEDITION VEHICLE? Second, if you were going to build another EXPEDITION VEHICLE, with ONLY a 2-DOOR CAB, instead of a 4-DOOR CAB, how many FEET would be the "IDEAL" LENGTH for the BOX? Thanks, Tom
hey Tom! Shorter is always better, what is the ideal length? That I don't know, but I do know our 28ft bumper to bumper has never limited us at all! If we had a 2 door truck we would have a 16' box without a doubt!
Have you considered a plastic cowling for the front of the box to diminish air drag thus increasing fuel mileage? If you have standard vehicle insurance it allows full-time living like RV insurance does? It appears your rear exterior storage boxes could be moved forward 1'ft thus allowing you to gain more clearance for if/when the incline diminishes road clearance at the rear. My RV tankage at the rear is angled to provide this increased clearance.
Hello. I'm new to your channel. This build is amazing. I enjoyed watching every minute of it. Looks like it's going to be great for traveling. I think I heard you say something about going to Mexico. If so, be very careful to avoid vehicle impoundment for any reason. Seems like the system is set up for the authorities to be able to keep people's vehicles. I saw it on another channel. Safe travels.
Again I cannot speak to the ideal length, shorter will always be easier to maneuver for some. I’ve never felt limited with our 28ft truck vs our 24ft van! the truck drives better honestly hahaha
Hey there! I have a link for ya right here, will drop it below. It's pricey but looks like there's a $30 coupon and will probably go on sale during black friday!
Amazing video and an outstanding very Smart box truck conversion 👍👌🥇. I watched hundreds of Van conversions and motor home buildings , done by both amateurs and professionals , I have to admit that this is one of the best if not the best I am sure of that 🏆🥇. Long ago , I reached the conclusion that I am going to buy my own box truck and do the conversion myself as per my own preference floor plan and usage requirements, then I started looking for relevant videos till I came across this Genius work of art of yours . I wonder how much is the cost for the truck , the Morgan box and the whole conversion ? (If I am allowed to ask ) You also have the best electric system that I came across, but will it allow you to get connected to an external shore supply of 220-230V like in Europe, or 240V like in Australia ? The water tank is amazing , like a dream for me , and I liked the shower unit and your multifunction sink for inside and outside usage . Your multi storage areas and cabinets are just unbelievable 👍👌. Finally, a big Bravo 👏 . Enjoy your incoming adventures. I wish you all the best 🙏💞. God bless you . One last question: will you be able to help me build mine , once I decide to start (I will pay for all your efforts and services of course) 🤔😉?
Will your alternator charger be on the vehicle engine, or a separate unit? I have both but no solar yet because we don't know if our camper will stay or be traded for a class C motor home.
Be on the vehicle! Our truck came with dual alternators for a total of 397a (in parallel). We will tie our dc-dc charger into the secondary alternator and run that back to our future charger! Hoping for a new victron 24v Orion or something similar :)
@@the.desertcruiser You have learned do much, in fact you could be, if not already, be a build consultant, as stationary as well as mobile off grid is becoming the only way some can survive, or choose to. Love to see how your home was built and now developed. Do you feel safe in Mexico? Do you employ extra security measures? Again I live in a comfortable solo Ram Promaster City with a single free standing solar panel. In wind storms I wipe dust off the panel all day. Is keeping your solar clear of dirt much of a problem?
Thank you so much for following along on this build!!! We absolutely feel save in Baja, haven’t been to mainland yet. The friendliest people and so easy to travel through out :)

Negative, most folks NEVER use it, like at all... Would require deleting the entire back row and spending loads of money on a custom setup... And the pass thru would end up in our garage which is not connected to our living space. So unless you want to hang out in our garage, it makes no sense.
Thank you so so much!!!!!! The location is INSANE right? I’ve wanted to go there for years, the tour could have been filmed sooner but I just had to wait for this location. It felt right 🔥🤣
@@the.desertcruiser lol >>> So true, my bad! I'm usually more verbose with these things :) Jokes aside, I LOVE the build, I've started following you guys ~1 week ago. Thanks for not ignoring my comment!!!
@2:05 can you please make a in-depth video of that entire cage and how it was designed? I need something like that for the front of my semi so I can mount my 240 pound Honda Grom on the front of my semi, and then move it when I need to open up my hood who did you pay to have that made? Maybe I’ll just take my semi to them lol
Hi Cody, what is your opinion about Slide-Outs? Are there any companies that make Slide-Outs, which are also durable enough to handle the rigors of Over-Landing?
hey Tom! I don't have an opinion, neither of us have ever been in a traditional RV with slide outs. I would say they look ridiculous, and I'm unsure if they would hold up with the off roading, twisting and straining this truck goes through. But the additional space would be wicked!
Incredibly awesome build.. Wouln't it make more sense to run 24V appliances, such as induction cooktop, water heater etc, instead of going through a giant inverter? Fun part about being in nature is you're away from the AC field from the grid, if you're carrying them with you in your trip that's kinda counter productive, but that's just my opinion : )
Thanks so much! I honestly have never heard of a 12v or 24v induction cooktop, the water heater is 12v so there is no inverter required to power that. It simply runs off of our 12v fuse block...
Very cool Build…qualitywise was over everything I saw so far in the US. Foodstorage and Waterstorage is massiv and would be awesome for extensive canadatrips! The shower is awesome…is that a spay showerhead? I do not like the toilet, but there is not much you can do against it. How thick is the insulation in the walls?
Thanks so much for watching and the comment! Food and Water is so under prioritized by so many! haha Not sure what spay Showerhead means, its from Brondell and we love it though. The insulation is R7 Havelock Wool
Are you guys professional chefs or something? I'm just wondering why you would have a box that big and spend so much of your footage on kitchen space and empty counter space. It looks like almost 70% of the build was just kitchen, just curious about that choice. It could have been such a spacious place with extra lounge space. It still looks good tho and it clearly works for y'all.

This is amazing! I would love to know your cost.
Awesome build! Can you comment on any of the costs?
Love the rig.
Heavy on the ‘massive’ eh.
Thank you!
Are you inferring I said massive to many times for your liking? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
how much the whole project?
what did the total build cost?
Where’s the bar?
Wonderful…but what about a toilet? Composting maybe? Maybe I missed that part.
Loved your build video, it's really cool - and what aa location for your tour, holy s&*%
Thank you so so much!!!!!! The location is INSANE right? I’ve wanted to go there for years, the tour could have been filmed sooner but I just had to wait for this location. It felt right 🔥🤣
@@the.desertcruiser Worth the wait for sure.
massive how many times but it wasnt?
awwww did I hurt your feeling by saying massive more times then you like? The truck is massive, everything inside is massive haha
I’m just so curious on how much this build cost
Phenomenal job only way to save money these days well you know
Thanks so much Tom! The only way to save money is to do it yourself baby! haha
Build cost?
did you watch the video, enjoy the video??? You can't just come outright asking about cost without saying something! lol
@@the.desertcruiser lol >>> So true, my bad!
I'm usually more verbose with these things :)
Jokes aside, I LOVE the build, I've started following you guys ~1 week ago.
Thanks for not ignoring my comment!!!
What’s the cost breakdown
no other words, just want to know the cost? LOL
Total cost to build?
did you watch the entire video??? or you just wanna know the cost immediately? LOL
Why not just buy the Earth Roamer for 1.2 mil and not do any thing else? LOLOLOL
LOL love this! hahah Thanks so much Paul!
Never tell anyone where you keep all your camera gear! Find a place to hide it
TOTAL BUILD COST = ??????
total build cost is the first thing you say? lol no mention of what you thought about the video, the build etc. hahah
whaaat? NO washing machine? :):):)
Everyone needs to get out of Washington DC
What the heck does this have to do with our truck 😂
@ You cant travel the roads, overland is the way, who’s your Huckleberry now, Trumps reconnecting is here
The huge box looks weird.
Oh geeee thanks love your feedback 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Y’all need to make a TH-cam channel for yourselves.
how yall shit? i see no toilet.
So bad ass
cheers! We agree! haha
💯💯🤙🤙❤️☝️
Great build
Thank you so much!!
