    Not to be negative at all, but hairloss interventions like nutrofol or a laser or anything, need to be proven on people who have chronic hairloss or excessive shedding, not just on people whose hairloss is due to a short term stressor or hormonal shift such as postpartum hairloss. Those temporary sheds remedy on their own with time and thus attributing improvement to any intervention can be deceiving. As a chronic hair shedder of 20 years, I have recognized this.

    • @DrSamEllis
      @DrSamEllis  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

      Chronic shedding can be such a frustrating experience, so I’m sorry that you’ve been going through that. What I like about this supplement is that the study was performed against a control group who did not get the supplement - demonstrating that the hair growth observed wasn’t just secondary to the patient “recovering” from a hormonal shift or stressful event. Those who took Nutrafol had significantly more regrowth and I find that compelling.

    • @Chrissy45999
      @Chrissy45999 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@DrSamEllis Thank you for your kind reply. That's great that they have done some extensive studies on nutrofol. I've been to quite a few derms, and had lots of bloodwork, and am currently on oral monoxidil, spironilactone, and LLLT. Theres been improvement in the thickness, but still excessive shedding. Its tough, but I don't have it as bad as some others, since my scalp density is pretty good, the length retention just isn't there. Your channel is great. Thanks again!

    $88 a month for a hair vitamin, in this economy? Thats a slap to the face.

      @jkulikova 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +13

      _This_ is a slap to the face?! How about $300+ for a doctor visit? Or a $2-3K deductible for a routine surgery. Saving hair is vanity: if you don’t have money, you live with thinning hair: nobody died from that yet. Not everything should be available to everyone. And vitamins aren’t the worst things that are not affordable to everyone who needs them.

      This is a video about beauty investments, which clearly indicates the products will be expensive but in the Drs’ view they are worth the cost. Rogaine/minoxidil is a cheap alternative if you don’t want to purchase or can’t afford Nutrafol. You can also purchase the key ingredients as individual supplements.

    I appreciate all your videos. I've learned a lot from you. Nutrafol contains many ingredients that I already take. It presents an issue. If I try Nutrafol so I can get the additional ingredients that I don't already get, I have to give up my multivitamin and a few other supplements. My multivitamin, however, has other ingredients not found in Nutrafol. Unfortunately, I can't give up my multi. The kinto is also a no-go as I'm reducing plastic as much as I can. For teeth flossing, I use a regular floss, but I follow up with a water pik device. It's a game changer! I never thought about sun damage while driving. I spend a lot of time outdoors. I'm not sure that I can wear the gloves on a hot day when I'm going for a walk. Thank you for the tips.

    Hi Dr. Elis, we see a lot of information about the quantity of sunscreen to put on our face, but not so much about the body. What quantity of sunscreen shoud we put on the entire body (arms, legs, chest, belly, back, etc)? And also until what time of the day should we reapply? If we shower after work and go to dinner, we don't want to smell like sunscreen, so is it damaging to the skin to go outside at 7 pm without sunscreen? Can you do a video also on what red therapy is worth it for hair growth (there are so much on the market and they are expensive device), we want to invest in something good! Thank you :)

    Can nutrifol have a shed period? I started taking it a few months ago and I started noticing a ton of shedding a little over a month in. After 2 months of shedding I freaked out and stopped taking it. I’ve been off it for a couple months now and the shedding has stopped. I can’t think of anything else in my routine that changed besides those supplements.

    As a hair supplement I used Viviscal which was also one of your suggestions Dr Ellis. It helped my hair grow and it increased my volume.

    I also wear UPF gloves when I’m driving and I always have a pair in my purse when I travel and if I’m renting a car. I don’t care what others think of me, I’m protecting my skin from burning and aging and that’s more important then some random persons opinion of me.

    When I use the Dyson air wrap, the air blows my hair all over the place. It’s like the parts of the barrels that aren’t covered in hair have air that escapes and causes massive frizz. Any tips?

    I hope you see this, since this video is a few days old. But I was wondering if you also use tretinoin with the omnilux. I bought the omnilux before I was prescribed tret, but I noticed a warning on Omnilux's website about using it with prescription retinols like tretinoin. I've since stopped using my omnilux because the warning freaked me out, but would *really* love to use it again since I spent so much money on it. Was is your opinion on this?

      I’ve used my tretinoin with mine for the past two years! I use the mask on clean skin and then do my skin care routine afterward!

    I thought there was going to be more info about fuller hair. Would love another video dedicated to this. You do have beautiful teeth. I use and love desert essence tea tree oil dental tape. It is very grippy and more affordable. It is 6 packs at 30yds each for $3.71 on Amazon.

    I am over 50 with a history of breast cancer. Can I take nutrafol balance? My dermatologist recommended nutrafol a couple years ago, I just bought the regular one, not balance. I followed your link and took the quiz, and now I’m wondering if balance is safe for me?
