Maaaan respect for filming in 96 temps I think they’ll let you do driving reviews in the future when your channel keeps growing
They let me do them now bit has to have the sales guy in the car. Standard practice down here in the south for some reason. But like I said in the videos. Driving impressions are not facts but rather opinions. So I don't do them. And the one I did on my gladiator got crap low views and was a waste of my time. Not sure if I will ever do driving impressions. Same with videos on teaching people to buy vehicles and negotiate. They get crap views too. If a category of videos don't get good views they are not worth me doing. Maybe someday in the future will test some of those vids again. But right now not many are interested. Or youtube algorithm is not in my corner there😂
@@SamkoWorkShop oh man well said. Gotta go with what we want to see love the news segments
The glamorized USA version of the LC. This should have the basic spartan like interior of the 70 series they sell in Australia. But unfortunately that wouldn't sell in the states.
Thinking about getting one of these for my wife in a couple years. Currently in a Highlander, which I want to pass on to the kids, my oldest is about to turn 14. I love how much room there is in the cargo area, and she won’t need/want 3 rows by then. A 2” lift on this thing with a 1” taller aggressive AT will look and perform very nice.
It sure is a very sexy suv and I promise seeing it in person is much more impressive than in the videos
Wait...?... 1958 edition with cloth, manual seats but digital dash because "thats the way things are nowa'days". It makes no sense. How is it a 1958 edition when only thing about it 1958 are the manual burlap covered seats...
Sounds like a gimmick to charge people alot for a stripped model.
Don't drink the kool-aid.
Smh...
I loved it!
Manual seats is what bothers me. How can you charge 63k and offer manual seats? Absolutely dirty move on an otherwise great suv
Toyoguard Platinum? You get 2 years free maintenance here in the Northeast. I am not a fan of the predator steps, the place I would want to step isn't where they place it. They do seem to last though I see 4Runners with them and they always seem to be in good shape.
We have the predator steps on our 23 4 runner. Tina loves them. But I'm with you, they are positioned wrong and I don't use them. And every manufacturer now give you 2 years of oil changes and tire rotations free when you buy the vehicle. Don't think there is any other maintenance needed in 2 years other than air filter changes.
I wish cloth seats were available in higher trim cars rather than pleather and leather.
Agree 100%. Was sooo hard to find my 23 4 runner with cloth and I had to give up stuff I would of like to have. But I hate leather seats with a passion
I have a 2017 4Runner trd pro and the pleather is slightly peeling. It’s like wearing a fake cheap leather jacket 😂. These durable cloth seats will last long for sure.
@jasonkatada1583 sucks you have to deal with that. They do make excellent best covers for the 4 runner
Trdjon paid almost 100k for his. These are nice drove one few weeks ago. The new landcruiser is more like a luxury fj cruiser. I'm going swallow my pride a bit and say the hybrid system works well in it. Much better then in the tacoma. I've driven both.
great info. Thank you. Im going to drive an lc soon (couldnt when i reciewd this as I had a meeting to get to). Have drove the tacomas, but not a hybrid taco.
Anyone who buys these new Toyota's are very brave. They are not built the same way they used to be. They are so overpriced for what you get and I'm guessing there's going to be a ton of buyers remorse for folks who have to have one.
Could very well be right. But as far as quality of vehicle that toyoa is currently putting out, this one rises to the top by a long shot
I'm a life long 80, 100 and 200 owner. I have the new 250 FE. It's built very well.
@@onenessacts238I’m surprised how good the new motor is. It doesn’t feel like a 4 cylinder.
I drove one a few weeks back and agree with you that Toyota absolutely crushed it, I think it’s a little pricey but nothing else compares
Can definitely see the quality everywhere in this suv
No thank you- the price is way to high!
Seems like a good price at that dealer. Exact same trim at my dealer is at $74k
These guys at Franklin toyota are pretty solid guys. I know them all there.
@@SamkoWorkShop That is really good!
Went and compared the sister to this, the Lexus GX550 to my wifes GX460 which is getting up there in age. GX550 is a great SUV but in my opinion the build quality and materials weren't even close between the new GX550 and her GX460. For the $$$$ they want for a GX550 we decided on another, newer GX460 with low miles.
The 460 is proven tried true and trusted
4k more than an outgoing 4Runner TRD Pro SUV. Worse rear seat configuration. Cloth seats. Only a few colors available on this stripped down model. The big letdown is a turbo 4 cylinder. At least it has the hybrid system that can get you safely off the road when that turbo blows sooner or later. I did learn that fact from the Tundra fiasco.
I loved this. I'd buy this suv right now if I didn't own a 23 4 runner that I refuse to ever sell.
@@SamkoWorkShoptrying to get on bandwagon 😂like other fanboys
@@mrketo7077 Now thats funny😂🤣
Damn I wish Toyota would have gone with a less complicated drive train. Something like a detuned b58 would have made the new landcruiser an absolute gamechanger. Ineos uses it in the Grenadier. Toyota also uses it in the Supra. Would have suited the LC’s heritage ie “series 80” so much better.
That would of been so amazing. I would of sold my 4 runner and bought my wife this if it had that motor and trans combo.
Got to play with one last week when picking up the 2024 4Runner trd orp. Was not impressed definitely did not have the quality of the 4Runner.
Current 4 runner is amazing. But of all the new toyotas coming the quality of this lc is excellent
Too many dealer add-ons. That’s just a good way of price gouging. Local dealership here in Ohio does not put on any add-ons.
63k some sweaty dude sat on it and banged the doors 50x....noice
Lmao
1:32 Why is the spare tire different?
Cheap
Toyota decided to cheap out and use a lower quality spate tire
I had the theory of waiting a couple of years after a new model came out, I waited.......pull the trigger and now its annoying and frustrating to sleep after a 2023 Sequoia and 2024 Tundra are in my driveway.....when is going to be my day?.....we need a solution soon. On a new Toyota now after all this crap I should wait at least 4 years.
So sorry you have to deal with all that crap. Hopefully your are both good and nothing to worry about
Looks like a bread box. Definitely needs to ditch the 4 banger. Expect buyers to go crazy for this anyways.
$500 floor mats and $470 illuminated door sills! Automotive insanity...
Agree 100% and forced to buy if you want the truck
Haven't seen 'one' on the road yet...
Ive seen 2 since I made this video last week one at a resturant and one at publics.
Its a nice looking rig until you pop the hood open! 4 cylinder turbo with a battery no thanks
it'll smoke the old v6 in 4runner.... hybrid has a lot of power...
too many armchair engineer offering nonsense advice on youtube
Agree I do not want a hybrid or ev or any of that crap. If tina said to buy her this I would, but I'd dump it in 2 years.
It’s gonna prove to be a lot better than you think . Substantial Fuel savings over a few years time vs comparable size SUVs. While providing more power and torque. Very poweful inverter that can power tools or cooking implements for camping . Challenge you to look at who makes the battery and electric motor and transmission components . Also how’s the warranty on the hybrid components . Also how long have hybrid rav 4s and Prius last without any hybrid issues ? You wouldn’t dump it in 2 years . What would happen Is you’ll realize that your initial assumptions may have been off and probably grow very fond of that whole setup .
The thing that bothers me is why can’t you option the disconnecting sway bar in the 1958? Why do you have to step up to the next trim level ? That sway bar disconnect is gold for anyone that really knows and does off-roading more substantial then gravel roads
@@Ttya-bm4gk The care care nut does a great review of this toyota 4 cylinder turbo. this small displacement motor will need more frequent oil and air filter changes because it runs very hot and eventually the turbos and battery will need to be replaced which means all of that money saved if fuel is gone.
Plus 💯 made in a Japan factory
And it shows in the quality. I'm the first one to point out quality issues when I see them. And this lc is quality 100%. It's evident everywhere.
I'd get a ranger raptor way before I fool around with that Toyota Land cruiser V-6 TT & no 🔋 bullshit to worry about & you could kick ass 'n take names with that raptor.. + I'm sure the raptor would destroy that Land cruiser ANYWHERE off-road... & 5K cheaper!!
I would buy it for my wife and she would love it and we would use it as a family vehicle when we go places together. I ha e a truck for truck stuff
@@SamkoWorkShop My wife is simple she doesn't mind what vehicle we take whether it's my 95 Acura Integra gsr, the Tacoma. She has tundra or her Maverick... Or hell even riding on the back of my adventure bike. Lol I just wouldn't spend close to 70 grand on something that relies on batteries cuz we like to keep our vehicles a long time in our household the tundra is from 2010 my Integra is from 1995 & owned it for 22 years. She wanted the Maverick for ⛽mileage & I use the Tacoma for work. You just talk so highly of the 4Runner I figured you were going to keep that thing but if you got the money to spend & switch for something you'll never be able to get new again. The more power to you 👍👍 happy wife happy life haha
@honda116969 yep the 4 runner is a vehicle I hope to never sell. And I hate hybrids and evs. But if t8na wanted the lc I'd buy it for here and flip it a year or 2 later. It's a very nice vehicle. But I would never own it our of warranty or plan to keep it longer than a couple years.
If one is thinking about handing this down to their children in the future, do you recommend buying? It’s a cool though handing down a Land Cruiser to your children
Personally. I wouldn't count on the long term longevity of any new vehicle, considering 1,000 to 3,000 semiconductor chips and 50 to 100 microprocessor-based electronic control units (ECUs)...
@@devildog5354 Well said
Fantastic question! Honestly in my opinion, no. Too much tech, the hybrid, the turbo, etc. I dont see this vehicle making it to 200k miles without huge repair bills. If you are looking for a vehicle to last many years and be trouble free as well as affordable to own and repair the only one left in the world today is the current 4 runner. It can go 500k miles with little trouble and the quality is off the charts compared to most other vehicles.
My father in law has a 2022 Toyota Sienna hybrid with approximately 245,000 miles and the only thing he’s done is proper in time maintenance
I suspect that Toyota Sienna will last 400,000 miles without a single issue
Over $60k and cloth seats.
I love cloth seats. Can't stand leather seats. So that makes me happy
Back in the day the buggy was lined in fabric interior while the driver sat on a leather bench. Today were brainwashed to think leather = luxury while most of the world pays extra for wool and cloth covered interiors. Then you look at the used cars market and cars with leather interiors are usually horribly worn out while cars with cloth seats fair way better.
I have to disagree, it's smaller. Doesn't impress me. It's a little larger than a 4runner. It's not the Pinnacle of the Toyota line up that we are used to. I guess this is the Inflation version of the Toyota Land Cruiser. Back to the drawing board for Toyota.
@antvicpapa it's a Land Cruiser Prado. These things existed since the early 1990s and they've always been expensive. Powered by 4cyl gas base engines and top of the line either have turbo 4 diesels or the V6 shared with the 4Runner. Prado has always shared its platform with the 4Runner since 1995 and it's always been a little bigger and more expensive than a 4Runner. The Lexus GX is the more expensive Prado so a Toyota Prado slotting between a cheaper 4Runner and the more expensive GX is great. Other markets didn't get the 4Runner so their 4Runner was the Hilux based Fortuner.
@@SamkoWorkShopI think the OP has an issue with it costing $60k with cloth seats, not an issue with the actual seats being cloth.
Yeah, and then they ruined it with the four-cylinder turbocharged, hybrid, therefore worthless
I am bummed it has that hybrid in it too.
Who said you lie
not sure now. Id have to go back and watch the video to see what I was talking about. Cant remeber off the top of my head.
