Thank you for your great review! I love the show (only saw 3 eps) and I hope it generates enough popularity to stay around for more than 2 seasons. Lestat and Louis surprised me. I know how toxic and hurtful they can be, but I'm still rooting for them. The actors are so convincing and their characters just so complex and still so human, even as vampires. I love what they did with Molloy and how they made him older and his interactions with Louis are so interesting. Can't wait for Claudia!
Great review. The show is so good. I am so happy they got renewed for a season 2. I read yesterday there is already talk of a season 3, that will focus a little more on Lester’s perspective.
Great review. Couple of questions: 1) How have you seen 5 episodes already?(I'm jealous) 2) Why the 9/10? It sounded like it'd be at 10/10 from how you were describing it. 3) Whose acting impressed you the most overall and whose could use a bit of improvement? Thanks
I can answer the 1st one, I think they released the 1st 5 episodes to people who could review the series afaik. Most of the reviewers I know seems to have watched or read said this
Sure! 1) Press members were given access to screen and review them 2) There are some things I’m waiting to see if it pulls out a 10, but for sure I’m thinking on it more it’s a 9.5 3) They are all great, actor Playing Louis first 3 episodes are all him! But when Bailey comes as Claudia she send the show to a totally different level!!
@@TeamJVS Brilliant. Thank you so much for that. You're very kind. I'm so so impressed by this show it's become a bit of an obsession. Jacob Anderson has been outstanding as Louis. (he's also a great musician who goes by the name Raleigh Ritchie for those who don't know) I think Bailey Bass who plays Claudia makes her entrance in today's episode. I can't wait. Sam Reid who plays Lestat is also sublime. The casting was so spot on for each character. Please do another review after the season ends. Want to see if they earn that extra .5 from you. 😊🙏🏿
Lestat can be toxic but even during the events of Interview With The Vampire, Lestat is usually killing killers even if Louis doesn't know it isn't telling. When they do Lestats book we might see his perspective, and in the books his character is descriptive even when he knows what he did was wrong or a mistake. He tells it warts and all.
That's funny that you mention Klaus from TVD and The Originals. Klaus is such a pseudo-Lestat in my opinion. The book and subsequent film adaptation were very influential to vampire media and lore, and Louis and Lestat have become archetypes in various vampiric stories. Lestat being impulsive, living it up as a vampire, like Damon and Klaus in TVD universe, Eric in True Blood, Spike in the Buffy universe. Louis is broody and more connected to his humanity and overall existence, like Stefan in TVD universe, Bill in True Blood, Angel in the Buffy universe. Just to describe a few examples and their counterparts and in a basic way (not to take away from each characters' individuality and eventual arc). As a huge fan of the book series and 1994 film, I think the movie is accurate to that first book, but of course because of runtime it doesn't go as in depth with things, particularly in the beginning with Louis' family history and stuff; as well as, they didn't want it to be overtly gay. I've heard Tom Cruise was pretty insistent on toning down their relationship as a couple.
I am obsessed with this show. The writing is very thoughtful and smart. The acting superb.
Absolutely one of the best series of the last couple of years. I adore it so much ✨♥️

Yes, Malloy is a much more interesting character for me. I enjoy all the scenes he has with Louis.
Great retelling of the story in ep 1. Amazing chemistry.
great review, i didnt have any doubts but im glad to hear that bailey bass is killing it! super excited to see her and the rest of this show
