I don't know you think Brion would've asked the hard questions at least once. This is kind of the reason it's hard for me to sympathize with him despite him being influence by the ambassador. You mentioned beast boy but his powers are given by the monkey god which allows him to magically change mass i.e. gaining more muscle mass and getting stronger.
But everyman is limited by the law of conservation of mass so no mass alteration.

Hmm, from the pov of a diaspora Jew, I think there's a key similarity to Israel that the other examples lack. Israel is supposed to be a sanctuary for a marginalized people group who have been persecuted for ages and haven't had a true home since Judea. While the idea as a whole was built on romanticized ideals, like Geoforce's, unfortunately there will always be political corruption and extremists.
While the founding, development, and conflicts of Israel obviously need to be detailed more to properly assess the complexities of the governmental policies, I think at face value, equating what Israel is to the Jewish people and Markovia to meta humans. There's potential there, especially seeing the welcoming borders of meta humans and the aliyahs for Jewish diaspora.
And both seem to stir mixed feelings from the people groups they are supposed to protect.

Seriously, the fact that the show decided to push identity storylines and a depression arc to the front instead of the actual interesting plots is WILD. Loved the show in the beginning but I'm kind of glad they cancelled it if that's what they were going to continue doing.
