Batman continues to a Badass even after being busted by League for deceiving them. While Black Lightning shows his disdain over Batman and Team fooling him, it is more like he cannot accept the fact that they were able to successfully deceive him and he lacks in detective skills.

@@gibbs615 I saw your other comments, and I understand, you see him as the bad guy here. But he isn't, his plan as solid and in many ways perfect, you're questioning his morals and overall actions. But I gotta say, sometimes, secrets and lies can save lives and it did here. I understand your side, as it was morally wrong and it broke their trust in him, but it save lives and get the job done. He was a jerk? Hell yeah, but if we were him, if we have been through half what he has been. I would've done the same thing, let's remember that Batman didn't grow up in an happy island with Amazon warriors our in a colorful farm. He grew up in Gotham, were trusting someone would most of the time mean a bullet in your head, and a lie could save people and mostly, yourself. It's a grey area, what he did was morally wrong, but overall right.

@@thylermorningstar9616 Okay look, I've been thinking that maybe Batman Inc really was the best plan. However it was one thing when they lied and kept it from everyone but then staging fake events on the outsiders was really going TOO FAR! Also they really should've just left Jefferson/BL alone in the first place so he could work out his personal issues for himself after what he accidentally did at the beginning and it was like he didn't even care what happened among his allies and if he tore them apart from each other or not. See Batman is not very likable these recent days and never takes responsibility for his mistakes or hardly even learns from them as he used to way back and that's why I sometimes just don't like him nowadays.

The problem is though, regardless as to what is best for the mission, it doesn't matter if you end up compromising your own morals or indirectly compromise other's morals without their knowledge. Both Jeff and Terra have now lost all faith and trust in people that they thought were their friends, and have their perception of their "friends" forever changed.
Think about how horrible that is; if you learned that the people you fought with, the people you put your life on the line for, were just using you for their own gains. You'd become so disillusioned at the very thought of them in your mind; the whole idealized image you'd have of them would be shattered as you realize you never knew them from the start.
The reason why this secret society of heroes doesn't work for them, is because the heroes have built their teams on pre-established trust between one another. Many heroes know each other personally beneath the mask, they've all built lives in the show together. So the act of violating this trust is basically blasphemy. The Light doesn't have this problem, because all of its members and underling know they're being used. Thus the idea of trust doesn't exist, only a cease fire.

Yeah I have to agree with Leandro above me I think Dick often calls Batman out on his descision’s. And in this instance I think throughout the season he has started thinking the same thing as Barbra. Which is especially present in the last episode when he calls out everything that’s been happening, says it’s wrong and calls for black lightning to be put in charge. But it’s also something that you see him doubting long before it is found out like when he goes to Harpers insurance company and chats to Will about everything that’s going on and how he’s conflicted and needs someone to tell him he’s wrong. I do agree though that Babs does call Batman out more than Dick, but I do still think it’s a trait of both of them. They are very much his/the batfamilies moral compass.

Sure it’s made of heroes who Batman handpicked because he could count on their silence, but everybody who left the League for it did so under their own volition. And once it was no longer needed with Luthor no longer in power he had no objections about disbanding it and being folded back into the League. He even supported Black Lightning as the leader.
And why? Because while Bats does make tough decisions and takes morally dubious courses, he doesn’t do it with a ‘my way or the highway’ mentality, but rather a ‘I’ll do this so the other heroes don’t need to do it’. And with Luthor holding legitimate authority and hamstringing the League’s efforts to the point that it can’t even offer humanitarian aid, something had to be done.

I wonder about that, in their first mission in Markova, Dick got to choose his own team and I felt that he chose Jeff because he recognized he needed the opportunity to get back his fighting spirit, not because Bruce told him too and they seemed familiar with each other in a way unrelated to Batman because Dick knew he was going to show up after he recruited him despite saying no and they had a bit of a banter going on that showed they were friends. Which was probably why as Dick commented BL was more angrier with him, but only yelled at Batman because he wasn’t sick.

Disagree with Jeff. I'm more on Babs side than anything.
I still think some lies were necessary, both for infosec and plausible deniability. Plus Babs' point on the others getting to preserve their integrity instead of pointlessly getting mired in the gray morality.
However, there should have been more devil advocates in the anti light. I mean, I get why there wasn't, since autocracy *is* the most efficient method of decision making (examplified by Bruce's point about how the debate brings the mission to a halt and lets Helga just kidnap 3 people without anyone noticing). Yet, the pacing of their war does allow some room for debate without losing their ability to act swiftly.
I also think they mostly mishandled the situation with Beast Boy. They didn't need to bring him fully into the fold, but they should have set down with him and talked out their PR strategies, and made him aware of *all* the options they had available.

    • @gracebrown3074

Okay that last part about beast boy I 100% agree. I thought they should have bought him into the know and it would have strengthened their cause.
Especially after last season and lying about Artemis and how that played out. But I also understand that might have been why they didn’t bring him into the loop because he would have called them out on how past experiences didn’t nessecarily pan out. Especially when he said to Dick last season to never do it again.
Anyway as I’m writing this it’s reminding me all over again how well this show was written. Because really I can’t understand all of their points of view but I can still see how if they made different descisions it would have been better in ways and also worse in the same amount of ways. Barbara's words had to be the most powerful. There's no denying Batman's incredible at what he does, but there also no denying he's an incredibly paranoid control freak who is severely stunted emotionally. This alliance was bound to blow up sooner or later and just like in the comics, Bruce's stubborn refusal to even imagine he might've been slightly wrong is palpable.

Tim didn't say crap because his eyes said everything... also, what could he possibly say? He's Bruce's son and his protégé, he knows that what they did would hurt people if they found out, but he found it necessary all the same. It's like how Tim keeps track of heroes and villains and plans for if anyone goes to the "wrong side" (which led to Damian yelling at him, but Dick and Bruce both understood why Tim had such a list).

This Earth-16 version of Batman/Bruce is just a completely closed off selfish dick who doesn't give a damn what problems happen among his teammates as long as the mission gets done. Unlike him Jefferson/BL actually CARES about the well-being of his friends & teammates and is not so selfish about the mission either cause he would've told them all about it so there would be no secrets or problems among them. Personally, the only part of Batman’s scheme that was wrong was setting up those scenarios for the Outsiders and not telling them. The thing with Batman and Meagan pretending to be a family in peril: wrong and will cause a lot of backlash if discovered. The Reach ship and drones: they could’ve told them about it anonymously from the get-go. That said, I agree with the idea of a black ops team and not telling about they three factions working together behind the scenes. Not only is that harmless info, it throws up a smokescreen on which part of the groups is doing what. The JL could be doing something publicly that is being aided by/covering for Batman Inc or vise versa! One group to do good for the public by the letter of the law, another for the good of the public but without much regard to authorities and whether or not they want help and a third that does whatever it takes to keep the world and its people safe!
