Nightwing's acrobatics looked so amazing in this scene. The camerawork and the setting really tied it all together. I wish we had more moments like this one!

I think the purpose of her arc, aka her one big "phantom" was her being the reason her dad was Fate and she regretted that since. So her ark was to showcase her solution outside of it, but I liked how it showed her dark side since other than Rocket, she seemed to be the one member of the team who did nothing wrong or ambiguous so I liked her character development in that regard.

The fact that Nightwing used the Tower’s space to avoid Klarion’s attacks proves why he’s such a boss. Quick thinker, improviser, aware of his weaknesses and using his strengths to make up for them. My favorite YJ character by far. He was done so dirty in s4, but at least he got some cool fight scenes.
It's a nice touch that Klarion DOES in fact give them what they asked for...just not directly. the whole "my reward is letting you go" is accurate. He's not going to mess with them any more...THIS time. and he nudged them towards the correct course of action to be able to rescue thier friend.
That's the thing with the fae; you DON'T trust them, no matter what! The way Klarion pays his 'debts', is by not destroying things with the snap of his fingers. You also have to word VERY CAREFULLY what you want when you, heaven forbid, make deals with them or make a promise to them - they'll EXPECT you to hold your vows, and will only make ones that adhere to what THEY want! Dunno what the hell Zatanna was thinking when she summoned Klarion.

Anyone else notice how Zatanna’s backwards spelling is her actually saying the words backwards, while Klarion is speaking his spells normally, and the editors reversed his lines? They do that a lot with Zatanna in other media. I really like how YJ Zatanna’s voice actress puts in the extra effort to truly say the spells backwards.

Fun fact: Lacey chabert was asked if she wanted to recite her spells fowards then have them reversed the same way klarion did here because her spells would eventually get more complex along with the words she used but Lacey said no as she wanted a challenge! A true zatanna right there

Zatanna is so close to understanding Chaos… so close. Klarion would have helped sooner if she had worded her demand better. Make him think it was his idea.

It’s weirdly cute like he’s all dramatic and scary but then he sees it’s her and is just like “ugh not you again” like they’re just casual rivals and not mortal enemies.
Besides, he went to the Phantom Zone once when he possessed that bus and make it drive across dimensions. Also, he owes Zatanna for his new pet cat and helped him to stay exist in the human world.

This seems unfair. Klarion didn't honor the debt. It would have more sense if Klarion said, "Fine. I'll honor the debt. But I decide how to get Superboy out of the Zone!". Then Klarion takes Superboy out of the Zone, but teleports him to an unknown far away planet on the edge of the galaxy. Or teleports Superboy back in time to the medieval ages. THAT would have made more sense. He technically fulfills the debt, but is so chaotic about it that it only makes more trouble.
I’m no DC hero, but even I wouldn’t expect a Lord of Chaos - *especially* Klarion - to honor a debt. What was Zatanna thinking!? We don’t know if Klarion actually relented and honored his debt by mentioning the bus or if he backhandedly dropped the hint just for the enjoyment of perplexing the YJs and stroking his ego.
I disagree with Klarion "Helping" outside of letting them live. The way he words it is why. "Bus bus YOU knew I meant bus." Said right after the cat speaks. If Klarion said "Bus bus THEY knew I meant bus" I'd buy it because then it's still indirect but shows that he is speaking aloud to whomever happens to hear him recollect, rather than simply being stressed over the environment and speaking to his new kitty. Also Zatanna first found out about the zone and Conner from touching the bus that Klarion was in control of! I really think it was just as simple as lowest risk, call in a favor that's owed which would be no to low risk for Klarion but high risk to the team. After all the demand was "BRING Conner to us safely" not "Escort or take us to Conner" the debt was calling for Klarion to do the task alone. And as later episodes show they were right about the high risk and were nearly all captured.
They do something cool to show Nightwing's skill here. Klarion says "anything you can do, we can do better." He beats kaldur and artemis in physical combat immediately, breaks rocket's bubble and puts her in one, and out-backward-speaks Zatanna handily. But he doesn't beat Dick with pure physical skills. He has to teleport and throw fire as well as using physical weapons. And he realises pretty immediately that's necessary. He was better than everyone at their own style of combat, except for Nightwing. Dick is better at physical conbat than a lord of chaos.
Gotta love klarion acting offended at being summoned when he treats it like FaceTime as soon as he sees it zatana a fun one from the other side. Remembers he is supposed to be all big bad and acts it out of routine having some fun, and actually helping them a lot cause it makes it more fun.
I don't know much DC lore, but why didn't Zatanna use her "honor the deal" or whatever spell in the first place? Is there a reason for it other than to allow a cool fight scene? I mean, in S1 and S2 most scenes that didn't make sense at first are revealed to be sensical some time later or within proximity.
She led with trying to talk him into helping, She did it in Fates tower to discourage him from attacking. He decided to attack anyway. At this point she was forced to use the contract spell as her trump card which she knew ahead of time would not necessarily work. Its not like her plan backfired horribly, Chechokv's demonic school bus has arrived.
She can only force him to agree to the debt but as you daw he can control how it's setteled as long as the other party get something out of it which in this case was survival
In case you haven’t read “Injustice” comic. There established that the Chaos/Order power isn’t supreme in the universe. Power of the Will or Fear is far more powerful. For example this exact version of Klarion was killed by Sinestro, who just oneshot him with his strike.

I like how they’re actually “rivals” and not just standard boring enemies.
It’s weirdly cute like he’s all dramatic and scary but then he sees it’s her and is just like “ugh not you again” like they’re just casual rivals and not mortal enemies.
Rivals would mean they’re equals. Zatanna only had 1 victory over Klarion in Season 3. Rest of the time, Klarion is WAY out of her league in battle

Something I noticed, Zatana speaks backwards while Klarions dialogue IS backwards. His audio is reversed.

This seems unfair. Klarion didn't honor the debt. It would have more sense if Klarion said, "Fine. I'll honor the debt. But I decide how to get Superboy out of the Zone!".
Then Klarion takes Superboy out of the Zone, but teleports him to an unknown far away planet on the edge of the galaxy. Or teleports Superboy back in time to the medieval ages.
THAT would have made more sense. He technically fulfills the debt, but is so chaotic about it that it only makes more trouble.

I’m no DC hero, but even I wouldn’t expect a Lord of Chaos - *especially* Klarion - to honor a debt. What was Zatanna thinking!? We don’t know if Klarion actually relented and honored his debt by mentioning the bus or if he backhandedly dropped the hint just for the enjoyment of perplexing the YJs and stroking his ego.

I disagree with Klarion "Helping" outside of letting them live. The way he words it is why. "Bus bus YOU knew I meant bus." Said right after the cat speaks. If Klarion said "Bus bus THEY knew I meant bus" I'd buy it because then it's still indirect but shows that he is speaking aloud to whomever happens to hear him recollect, rather than simply being stressed over the environment and speaking to his new kitty.
Also Zatanna first found out about the zone and Conner from touching the bus that Klarion was in control of! I really think it was just as simple as lowest risk, call in a favor that's owed which would be no to low risk for Klarion but high risk to the team. After all the demand was "BRING Conner to us safely" not "Escort or take us to Conner" the debt was calling for Klarion to do the task alone. And as later episodes show they were right about the high risk and were nearly all captured.
Maybe the cat told him to be more specific with his hint?

I want to see klarion vs John Constantine
They do something cool to show Nightwing's skill here. Klarion says "anything you can do, we can do better." He beats kaldur and artemis in physical combat immediately, breaks rocket's bubble and puts her in one, and out-backward-speaks Zatanna handily.
But he doesn't beat Dick with pure physical skills. He has to teleport and throw fire as well as using physical weapons. And he realises pretty immediately that's necessary. He was better than everyone at their own style of combat, except for Nightwing. Dick is better at physical conbat than a lord of chaos.

I don't know much DC lore, but why didn't Zatanna use her "honor the deal" or whatever spell in the first place? Is there a reason for it other than to allow a cool fight scene? I mean, in S1 and S2 most scenes that didn't make sense at first are revealed to be sensical some time later or within proximity.
She led with trying to talk him into helping, She did it in Fates tower to discourage him from attacking. He decided to attack anyway. At this point she was forced to use the contract spell as her trump card which she knew ahead of time would not necessarily work.
Its not like her plan backfired horribly, Chechokv's demonic school bus has arrived.
She can only force him to agree to the debt but as you daw he can control how it's setteled as long as the other party get something out of it which in this case was survival
