I have the exact same Red Dot sight that I bought a bought 10 years ago and had on a paintball gun for a while. It got hit numerous times and survived. Later on it got put on my 12 gauge shotgun for slug hunting. The thing just keeps going and going.
A red dot is a red dot, it doesn’t matter if it’s cheap or very expensive as long as that dot guides your bullet where you need it to go then it’s all good in my opinion
I got a cheap tasco on my Ruger precision 22rimfire and I can conduct the symphony orchestra with that thing at 50yds, it works beautiful, idk about putting it on a 450 Bushmaster strictly because the hardware for it might not hold up to the recoil for long periods of time!
I've had that same red dot for years and just now today place it on a new rifle I got out of layaway the .177cal Black Ops Sniper. It looks dang cool with the red dot on there and when my foot heals better to where I can walk better I'm heading outside to site it in.
I have the exact one mounted on a Mosin Nagant. Just a tip, when you're attaching a red dot or scope ring to a mount try a coin instead of a screwdriver to put the final tightening on them, can save your red dot or scope rings and maybe you're rife if you slip.
Awesome caliber! Awesome rifle! You need to start reloading if your going to shoot that beast. .452 caliber Hornady FTX bullets and 39 grains of H110 or 300-mp powder. You will get the same performance as the factory Hornady 450 Bushmaster loads. And price per round will be under $1. Great video....thanks.
I think Tasco makes really good optics I have owned several of their scopes and not one of them went off of 0 once you get them zero in they stick . Recently I was looking for a new scope for my crossbow and I could not fiend one under $100 that said it was a crossbow scope except Amazon but nothing off the shelf. So I was at Walmart looking and they had a true glow for $80 and I noticed they had a Tasco red dot shotgun scope it looked really similar and I have a 410 shotgun so I went ahead and perches it got it home and decided to try it on my crossbow it worked perfectly I was grouping 3 inch groups in no time at 20 yards then 50 yards all the way to 70 yards. With plenty of lamination to it works perfectly on crossbows too
Not sure how you can scope yourself with a red-dot... Even mounted on the rear portion of the rail it's still sits closer to the bore than your shortest scope.
Anyone have any "high millage" reports on these things? I'm tempted to grab one for an AR but the optics snobs have me thinking it will blow apart after ten rounds because it costs less than $100! Are they decent for that awesome price? Thanks!
Great video! I googled your topic specifically because I just bought a Ruger American Ranch 5.56 NATO with AR magazine, just waiting for the shipment. I was going to get the 450 Bushmaster, but found the rounds to be too expensive for me, and difficult to find. It's a beautiful rifle! Hopefully, I will be putting a muzzle break on my own. I came up with the same idea about the red dot, I'm glad we both were right! I consider that to be my own version of a "scout rifle." I don't care for a forward scope! I'm also looking at the 300 AAC Blackout, ammo which is a lot cheaper than 450,......but I really don't like having the same rifle in different chambers. Thanks, pal.
I don't play 1st person shooter games, but all my friends do. And yeah, two bucks a round is not what I would call "cheap", but they sure look like fun to shoot :-D
I have that same red dot. Do u know what if any magnifiers will work with that tasco? Love ur work thank u for reviewing products us hard working Americans can actually really too
I saw this Tasco, and the Axeon at Walmart. The Axeon was $40, Tasco was $30. I just put the Axeon, on my new Ruger 10/22. Gonna try it out tomorrow!!! The Axeon has a red, green, or blue dot, with 3 brightness settings on each color. I think that's the only difference in them.... I'll let ya know what I think it about it tomorrow night, WhoTee. Looks like I woulda been pleased with that one, also.
Be honest. Did I mess up? Do you like the Tasco better???? Be honest with me, dude. lol. Only 3 brightness settings per color. I looked at it again. My bad.....
You need a spotting scope to see where you hit. You can adjust the eye relief by moving the scope back and forth on the mounting plate. Need to get a comfortable spot.
This one works to at least 100M. It zooms in more, but not well. Even without the nerve damage and foot problems, I'm lazy enough that $69 is worth it. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010FAUJ46 While I'm at it, a cheap but works chrono too: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HTN5DTE
Awesome. Im thinking of red dot on my AR in .350 Legend. Not decided yet. Thanks for info on this red dot. Ive looked at them but figured they were junk
Hey what do you all suggest for on a 10/22 take down? The one that seemed to be popular, UTG 3-9X32 1" BugBuster Scope, has a ton of current bad reviews.
Great video mate... Would have been nice to see a grouping once you had it zero'd though. Keep up the awesome content you bring us bud, very much appreciated! Take care, Skorp - Western Australia.
Hey Bryan! These American rifles have good recoil pads built in. Not too bad at all. These are actually the most powerful rounds I could find. Much easier to shoot over the 4570
That would be a great rifle and sight combo for driven wild boar. Not sure how long that little tasco will hold zero though with those heavy rounds.will be interesting to see.
My thoughts exactly! Tyler commented below that he has the exact same setup with 80 rounds through it and no issues. We will see! Thanks for watching! Always appreciate your comments.
I have the same optic on my .308 ar10. Not sure how it will hold up, probably wont be on there long. I've shot 100 rounds out of it, it hits 3 inch groups at 100 yards. I have an 18" barrel, it could definitely shoot better than that for sure, but I haven't even used sand bags. Pretty impressive what you can do with a red dot at 100 yards
I have a ruger american 308, 3006, and 450 bushmaster. All great rifles. I would expect the 223 to be great as well. Very accurate and have good triggers
WHO_TEE_WHO hey I like watching guns tears up stuff. Bullet performance you know. Maybe you can come up and we will hog hunt some this winter. Have a blessed day buddy GOD BLESS.
I lived and hunted in the jungles of southeast alaska for 12 years, where all the shots were under 100 yards. That would have been a great caliber to use..
Hey WTW, One comment ... I use a cheap (~$25) laser bore sight tool (inserted into muzzle) to sight in my scopes & red dots. It's not 100% accurate, but it will get you on target quicker.
I've had a couple of them, one cheap one and a sightline (I think) the cheap one the laser was not true and I endlessly fiddled with the little set screws to try and get it perfect. I finally gave up on it. At least with rifles like the RAR you can remove the bolt and boresight it by looking down the barrel. Stuff like most semi .22s you can't look through the back of the receiver though.
Companies need to start putting irons on bolt guns again. You either have to go milsurp or get an expensive European gun to get irons for the most part. There's a few out there, but not many. At least they should put full length rails on the top so I could mount my own irons.
Ok I looked in my Hornady book and the .45-70 and .450 are next to each other and seem very similar except you can put bigger bullets in the .45-70. Is the bushmaster nicer to shoot?
Tons of videos coming comparing the two - thats why i bought it 😂 i will say I think the bushmaster is a little more enjoyabke to shoot because it doesnt hurt as bad😂😂 but then again I dont have a recoil pad on the 4570. The rugers have a nice pad on them
Sweet Bush gun.I got my shotgun a red dot,Now i gotta take it to a smith and get me a rail put on.And i have a idea about how to see where you are shooting w/o a spotting scope.I use parts from my drone's 5.8 ghz cam's "I have a few" and they are linked to my phone so i just grab a battery and hook up one of the FPV cam's i have and put it by the target and watch my phone.. ;~)
It's as big as my thumb and has a range of about 100 yards. It came on a cheap play drone that i wired to a plain 3.7 volt 350mw 1 cell battery amd TADAA!! lol
I hate it when my phone locks up. Oh well I'm back. Wanted to know where you picked up the red dot. I'd like to try out a cheap one and see what I think of one.
My used ruger mpr 350 legend came with a romeo red dot. Ok for playing around with but I needed something more accurate to hunt with. Might put it on a plinking pistol and see how it does.
Hey Robert! I got thos one at walmart. They have them on amazon too. I put some links on the description of the vid and in the first comment if u want to check it out. I love this setup!!!
That's a good hog round. $2 is a bit pricey. I had the exact same scope on a Ruger .40 cal carbine. The scope was junk. The slightest temp change it would fog up. I traded gun for Ruger American 30/06. Put a Nikon on that gun. Good video. I like the gun too.👍🇺🇸
I bought this same sight at my local Kmart for $15 when they were going out of business. I put it on my sons 10/22 with an archangel ar556 stock, and I get nickel size groups at 25 yards and 1 1/2” - 2” groups at 50 yards with cci mini mag through a factory barrel. It’s dead on every time I take it out to the range and has been for about three years now. Battery life is good but keep an extra around in case you forgot to turn it off after the last trip to the range. The only down side is that the sight picture is a little small. Best budget optic for rim fire.
It says 5 MOA on the package. My understanding is it's going to cover a 5” area at 100 yards. I may be wrong but that's what I think is correct. At 45 yards, it's probably covering about a 2.5" area.
WHO_TEE_WHO thanks for makeing good informational videos you Got Mr thinking how well would the American white tail would be in me remmington 783 3006 with the scope that came with it
I normally pick up whatever is on sale 😂 as fas as im concerned most of them perform pretty much the same. I dont do any long distance shooting where it might matter.....atleast noy yet!

Another great vid. Tasco seems to make some pretty good budget products too.
I have several of their trail cameras. Work great
I have the exact same Red Dot sight that I bought a bought 10 years ago and had on a paintball gun for a while. It got hit numerous times and survived. Later on it got put on my 12 gauge shotgun for slug hunting. The thing just keeps going and going.

Whoteewho, yep watching your vid’s is like just hanging out a buddy having fun and doing some country boy engineering.
A red dot is a red dot, it doesn’t matter if it’s cheap or very expensive as long as that dot guides your bullet where you need it to go then it’s all good in my opinion

Blew up two of those on a .35 Rem T/C Contender pistol. Don't be surprised at all if it doesn't last.
I just discovered your videos and can't stop watching. Keep them coming.
Great information and fun to watch.
Thanks for watching Louie! I upload a new video every day!
I have the exact one mounted on a Mosin Nagant. Just a tip, when you're attaching a red dot or scope ring to a mount try a coin instead of a screwdriver to put the final tightening on them, can save your red dot or scope rings and maybe you're rife if you slip.
Good tip! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! This is my new favorite rifle!!!
Make sure you get an actual Tasco sight, I bought one off of Ebay that was a conterfiet. 5 shots and it fell to pieces.
With plenty of lamination to it works perfectly on crossbows too
Rimless 45-70 and I love it.
I love it more!!!😂😂😂
I have seen guys with the scope mounted too far back get a nice ring around the eye when they fired the gun. :-)
Yup! I have a scar on my eyebrow!
I got bit by a 300 win mag once. I'm used to AR platform rifles and big eye relief. I wasn't ready
OUCH!
Not sure how you can scope yourself with a red-dot... Even mounted on the rear portion of the rail it's still sits closer to the bore than your shortest scope.
🔥🔥🔥
Nice optic for quick target acquisition.
Anyone have any "high millage" reports on these things? I'm tempted to grab one for an AR but the optics snobs have me thinking it will blow apart after ten rounds because it costs less than $100! Are they decent for that awesome price?
Thanks!
Always was good to me. Ended up giving it to a friend who needed it
Best thing for a fang crossbow works perfectly 70 yards bulls eye no problem with a little practice
Great video! I googled your topic specifically because I just bought a Ruger American Ranch 5.56 NATO with AR magazine, just waiting for the shipment. I dont play any games, but I could imagine! Thanks Thomas!
I don't play 1st person shooter games, but all my friends do. And yeah, two bucks a round is not what I would call "cheap", but they sure look like fun to shoot :-D
Oh, and how about the lead plates from a car battery, wouldn't they make a great target?
I didnt even know there were lead plates in batteries 😂😂
My father has that on his 870 deer shotgun. Hasn't broken yet surprisingly.
👍👍
Great video, I was wondering about the tasco sight and the Ruger bolt action rifle and you answered my questions thanks
I like em both! Thanks for watching
I love your videos thanks for the entertainment.
Thanks for watching Austin!
Finally picked up my .450 ruger American today !!! Such a beauty....$41.99 Canadian for a box of 20 .. totally worth it though
Probably $79.99 now lol
I have that same red dot. Do u know what if any magnifiers will work with that tasco? Love ur work thank u for reviewing products us hard working Americans can actually really too
Never tried a magnifier on it
good stuff.... I love big slow lead
Mee TOO!!!
I saw this Tasco, and the Axeon at Walmart. The Axeon was $40, Tasco was $30. I just put the Axeon, on my new Ruger 10/22. Gonna try it out tomorrow!!! Yup I like the axeon too! Paul at heavy metal has one
Be honest. Did I mess up? Do you like the Tasco better???? Be honest with me, dude. lol. Only 3 brightness settings per color. I looked at it again. My bad.....
The only reason I picked this one is, because I shoot at orange targets quite a bit. The blue dot should be nice!
You need a spotting scope to see where you hit.
You can adjust the eye relief by moving the scope back and forth on the mounting plate. Need to get a comfortable spot.
Yup. Eye relief is pretty good on it as it sits. Love shooting this rifle
This one works to at least 100M. It zooms in more, but not well. Even without the nerve damage and foot problems, I'm lazy enough that $69 is worth it.

Hey thanks Al! Going to be comparing this 450 to the 4570
Wow!! Not bad at all..especially for the money! Thanks for the info Who Tee
Im really liking this red dot! Thanks for watching Danny!
Nice to see it on the channel
ROBERT!!! Dont miss tomorrow's video!!! Will be up early tomorrow morning!
Ok 👍
Hi, you can take a shot then move your dot to where you hit and take one more shot and should be right on. 2 shots done. $4.00 instead of $10.00. :-)
I suggested this and was told I was wrong by commentors one even saying it would have the opposite effect. Lol. Funny how it's been working for me
Great video sir! I was thinking of getting one but can't ever find any in the local gun shop.
How is that compared to a 45-70?
Awesome. Im thinking of red dot on my AR in .350 Legend. Not decided yet. Thanks for info on this red dot. Ive looked at them but figured they were junk
Worked good for me
Why don’t you use your laser for your initial adjustment?
Just put this thing on my Ar it’s sick
Hey what do you all suggest for on a 10/22 take down? The one that seemed to be popular, UTG 3-9X32 1" BugBuster Scope, has a ton of current bad reviews.
I have a pretty cheap scope on my 1022 with the see through type sight rings so u can still use your iron sights
I am hoping I can find one that can stay on the rifle as it is in the bag.
I'm thinking of putting a red dot on a CVA 45/70 for a brush gun. Shots will be mostly under 50 yards. Does this sound like a good idea?
Yup
Great video mate... Would have been nice to see a grouping once you had it zero'd though. Keep up the awesome content you bring us bud, very much appreciated! Take care, Skorp - Western Australia.
Thanks for watching!
Hey WTW! My up/down label came off my knob. Which direction is UP again on this knob?? Ty sir
Don't remember. Have to turn it and see what happens
@@WHOTEEWHO sry to even ask but ty brother.
besides the red dot thing..Ruger American are great rifles.. Mine is on .308 and it is tack driver..bullets are cheaper too ..nice vid.
I love the ruger american 308! I shoot mine a lot! Mainly like you said bcuz the ammo is cheaper
Nice Rifle , I expected your shoulder to be hurting some , mild load ammo I guess . The Red Dot sight , its a keeper , with a great low price .
Hey Bryan! These American rifles have good recoil pads built in. Not too bad at all. These are actually the most powerful rounds I could find. Much easier to shoot over the 4570
Nice gun and optics
Thanks Dan!
That would be a great rifle and sight combo for driven wild boar. Not sure how long that little tasco will hold zero though with those heavy rounds.will be interesting to see.
We will see! Thanks TOP DOG!
Sweet gun bro. Cant wait for more vids on that one. Oh yeah i caught a fish for you yesterday a small bass named it little hootie then threw it back
Awesome Victor! Swim on lil hootie😂
And another great video!
Hey John! Good morning! Hope you have a great day! Appreciate that. This was a fun video with the 450!!!
Hey, umm?. I hope you have a great day! Keep up the good videos!
?🖒🖒 will do!
Well the ? is because I am not sure of your name. LMAO! Someone mentioned it in a comment a while back but I forget what they said. Sorry!
LOL
I put a bushnell red dot on my Ruger American predator 223 last night, cant wait to give it a run and see how it goes on pigs
Awesome
the 5 MOA size dot may be an issue at any significant distance.
Have one on the Lynx 12.
Best way to sight that scope in is with a laser Boar sight tool
Very nice gun buddy!
Thanks ZJ!
I just got the same red dot. Which direction do you turn the knob to sight it?
Can't remember. I gave that one to a friend who needed it
Ok, Thankx.
The knobs are marked as to which way to turn them
It will be interesting to see how that Budget optic holds up to the recoil.
Nice! You got it! Have fun brother! Still want mine.
I got it! Love this rifle!!!
You beat me to it! LOL!
😂😂😂
Looking at a 223 and I was thinking the Ruger American would that be a good gun?
I have a ruger american 308, 3006, and 450 bushmaster. All great rifles. I would expect the 223 to be great as well. Very accurate and have good triggers
Red dot looks good. Let us know how it works in low light conditions. Thanks!
Will do! Thanks Jason!
Its realy bright iv ised it in night ops and i ise 1 or 2 setting and thats still bright in pitch black :)
Looks good buddy
Thanks Randle
WHO_TEE_WHO hey I like watching guns tears up stuff. Bullet performance you know. Maybe you can come up and we will hog hunt some this winter. Have a blessed day buddy GOD BLESS.
I lived and hunted in the jungles of southeast alaska for 12 years, where all the shots were under 100 yards. That would have been a great caliber to use..
Hey John! I am loving this .450 bushmaster!
John Ganshow yessir..... I agree .... big slow lead would have been properly appreciated you bet.....
Hey Jay! Big ol bullets!!!
WHO_TEE_WHO ☺
WHO_TEE_WHO whap,whop or, whack
I have the same one for my AR 15. Hope to see how yours does over time. I just don't trust mine yet because of the price point.
Oh u cant go off of the price 😂
WHO_TEE_WHO sometimes that's true. I have a .22 with a cheap 3x it's never needed adjusted in 30 years.
Hey WTW, One comment ... I use a cheap (~$25) laser bore sight tool (inserted into muzzle) to sight in my scopes & red dots. It's not 100% accurate, but it will get you on target quicker.
I have one. I just forget it a lot 😆. Thanks for watching Bruce!
Hey dude, I recently bought one of those rifles. Have you hunted with it?
Yes. That video is on the channel
Companies need to start putting irons on bolt guns again. You either have to go milsurp or get an expensive European gun to get irons for the most part. There's a few out there, but not many. At least they should put full length rails on the top so I could mount my own irons.
Yup I agree. Cost cutting everything
I've got a red/green dot that came with a cross bow. What do you think about using it on a marlin 336 in 303o?
Would work good
@@WHOTEEWHO thanks.
What do you think about that 450 in a paper plate or Solo Cup test
Videos out soon!
WHO_TEE_WHO Awesome. I can't wait to see 300 grains of American Fury show those plates who's boss.. you know for scientific purposes.
Does nobody bore sight rifles in merica
I really dig that rifle...Nice round as I will have look up the info on it....Good stuff....
My new favorite rifle Scott!!!
Are there any larger magazines available for this rifle?
Yes
That's a pretty short barrel. How long is it? Does it have a muzzle brake?
😂😂😂 16 inch barrel. Yes has muzzle brake
Have to try the Bushmaster on Mr Piggy 🐗
Oink oink!
The rugers have a nice pad on them
Think this will hold up with an AK or no?
Yup
cool, how fast the bullet travels?
These are going 2000+ fps. Supposed to be comparable to the 4570
very nice.
Yes sir!!!
Sweet Bush gun.I got my shotgun a red dot,Now i gotta take it to a smith and get me a rail put on.And i have a idea about how to see where you are shooting w/o a spotting scope.I use parts from my drone's 5.8 ghz cam's "I have a few" and they are linked to my phone so i just grab a battery and hook up one of the FPV cam's i have and put it by the target and watch my phone.. ;~)
That is so cool! I want a drone so bad! Only bummer is we dont have cell service at our house so the drone to phone wouldnt work i dont think
The cam is it's own transmitter that the phone connects to no need for the web.tablets are great too just more $$
Ahhh ok sweet!
It's as big as my thumb and has a range of about 100 yards. It came on a cheap play drone that i wired to a plain 3.7 volt 350mw 1 cell battery amd TADAA!! lol
Wow thats very cool
After 4 years did the tasco hold up to the 450?
Worked fine while I had it on there. Eventually switched to a scope
Had a leapers I got for 30$ lasted 8 years on a 22lr. just recently got a good deal on a bushnell
Wow. Very nice! I have looked at some Bushnells too
How do you know the sight doesn't move with only one shot per adjustment?? you need three to be sure.
Eh ive never done that. Everyone has their own way. The 450 bushmaster ammo is VERY EXPENSIVE 😂
Nice rifle nice cal
I hate it when my phone locks up. Oh well I'm back. Wanted to know where you picked up the red dot. I'd like to try out a cheap one and see what I think of one.
Hey DeWayne! I got the red dot at walmart. I put the links to it on amazon in the video description too
Thanks partner. I'll have to check out Wal-Mart in my nearest town to me when I get home this weekend.
Awesome!
I have considered buying that type of rifle but I might a little more money and buy a sig Romeo 5 or better.
I had the same problem with my taco also. when transporting the zero is off every time. Good for the price though.
Thanks for watching! We'll see how it holds up
My used ruger mpr 350 legend came with a romeo red dot. Ok for playing around with but I needed something more accurate to hunt with.
Might put it on a plinking pistol and see how it does.
Nice Gun!Where did you get it from?
Heavy Metal Guns and Outdoors! :-) they are in all of my videos
WHO_TEE_WHO Ok thankyou
How about testing LPs vs the .450 bushmaster?
What is LP?
Oh, vinyl records. (LP = long play) You know, the large round black things Grampa listened to.
That is one good looking gun red dot is rly interesting!
Thanks for watching Parker! Love the red dot!
Great rifle
Love this rifle!
I have the same red dot on my sks another good budget one is a Holosun
Awesome! It has held up pretty well for me. Glad I bought it
Well, how’s the Tasco red dot after 2 years?
Gave it to a friend who needed it
That's a nice rifle brother. I'm gonna go pick up one of those red dots. I need one for my ak. Were did you find that one?
Hey Robert! I got thos one at walmart. They have them on amazon too. I put some links on the description of the vid and in the first comment if u want to check it out. I love this setup!!!
Looks good
Thanks! Love this setup!
That's a good hog round. $2 is a bit pricey. I had the exact same scope on a Ruger .40 cal carbine. The scope was junk. The slightest temp change it would fog up. I traded gun for Ruger American 30/06. Put a Nikon on that gun. Good video. I like the gun too.👍🇺🇸
Thanks John! 🇺🇸 the 450 bushmaster may be my new favorite!!! Now we need a pistol version!
If u use diamond sandpaper u can get rid of that horrible zipper sound from the bolt
👍👍
This sight doesn’t have any magnification right?
Hmm. Don't remember
Very cool new gun Adam is it as powerful as the 4570
Comparing the two rifles in a lot of videos coming out soon
I picked up hornady Black 250 grain bullets for $25 a box that is $1.25 a round
That is a pretty good price for those. I only use blackbutterfly ammo in my 450. Had very good luck with it
I bought this same sight at my local Kmart for $15 when they were going out of business.
Thanks for the info!
Nice Ike Tasco . That gun will do the deal on a Deer for sure. 👍🇺🇸
Hey Big Poppa! Good morning! Hope you have a great day! Looking forward to putting that red dot on a deer
Seems like a good deal.
So far so good! Thanks for watching! I love this setup!
Actually I just looked at one at Wal-Mart for my 12ga what you think ? WHO TEE WHO
I'd say be fine
can you regulate the size of the dote ?
No
We need to see the size of the Red Dot on that plate down there
It says 5 MOA on the package. My understanding is it's going to cover a 5” area at 100 yards. I may be wrong but that's what I think is correct. At 45 yards, it's probably covering about a 2.5" area.
So did it kick as bad as the 45-70 ?
Well to be fair these are only 300 gr bullets and the ruger comes with a nice recoil pad. Not bad at all to shoot
Got the same on my 930
Awesome!
I Got a nice bushnell red dot off wish for $28 it Works great on my 3006 and my ar 15 in 5.56
Sweet! I am loving this one! Thanks for watching old red!
WHO_TEE_WHO thanks for makeing good informational videos you Got Mr thinking how well would the American white tail would be in me remmington 783 3006 with the scope that came with it
I have a few vids shooting that ammo in 3006
WHO_TEE_WHO i saw some of then and That's what Got me thinking about Trying it
I normally pick up whatever is on sale 😂 as fas as im concerned most of them perform pretty much the same. I dont do any long distance shooting where it might matter.....atleast noy yet!
