    Even when I'm sighting in something cheap to shoot like a 22, I do it the way you do. After sighting in a boat load of stuff you learn not to mess around. Good job only needing four rounds!!
    Thank You Sir!! 👍👍

    • @WHOTEEWHO
      @WHOTEEWHO  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Kevin! I do the same thing even with the 22. Some people like to get all crazy with the way they site rifles in, a lot of them because that's the way that the military told them how to do it

    • @SuperUncleRyan
      @SuperUncleRyan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've a;ways done it that way, except that I always shoot a three round group when I'm done, for confirmation. Even at that, a laser bore sight would have saved you 2 rounds today.

    You do not need a screwdriver, coin or a bullet casing to adjust the the Styrka S3. Just use the cap that you removed to make your adjustments. Very good idea on Strykas part! Love it!

    I am a big fan of big bore calibers. I have two Marlin 1895 rifles. One I keep in AK for trips into AK back country. The other is at my house and is big medicine for my lower 48 forays. My bullet of choice is Hornady interlock 350 gr, RNSP. My rifles seem to love this bullet. I like a medium load too.... IMR 3031, 50 gr. I think reloading is the way to go if you can swing it. MH

    You need a rifle vise if you are going to change sights around, it will save you a lot of ammo. If you don't know, the way it works is: you aim center of the target and fire a shot, then put the rifle in the vise and aim at the center of the target(where you aimed for the first shot) make sure it is stable; now adjust your sights to where the first shot hit on the target, this should get you very close with one shot.

    Do you bore sight before going to the range? I usually take the bolt out of my 336 and make sure looking through the barrel and through the sights I see the same place at 50 yards. Howdy WHO_TEE_WHO, been hunting for a little over 6 years now. I use 17hmr for squirrels and 308 and 30-06 for deer and hogs. I have to admit I have always been a snob towards lever actions since I was a kid. Always loved bolt actions. That is what I have for my 3 rifles. For the last few few months I been itching to get into bigger bore calibers. After watching TH-cam so long I been hearing how light and more maneuverable lever actions are in the woods. I have to admit my rifles are heavy and long compared to lever actions. Been looking at Marlin, Winchester, and Henry. I totally fell inlove with the Marlin 1895SBL and the Marlin 1895GS. My real question is whether I can handle the 45-70 Government. I shoot my 308 and 30-06 in 150 grain and I am good with it. I tried shooting 20 rounds of 30-06 in 180 grain in an indoor range in less than an hour. My shoulder was sore for almost a week. Is it because I shot it all in under an hour or I just can't handle it? Should I have kept practicing with the 180 grain rounds and perhaps I will get used to the recoil? This is the reason I am hesitating on getting the Marlins I mentioned because I may not be able to handle the 45-70. Come to think of it my shoulder was sore a few days after shooting 308 and 30-06 in 150 grains at first but not any more. If you can help me out on this I really would appreciate. I really love them two Marlins. I want to use them for hogs, bear, elk, and moose one day. Thanks.

    • @brianlee6849
      @brianlee6849 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@blurryface1975 If you are going to be hunting in heavy brush you want a low power scope with high field of view like a Leopold 1.25 * 4. Check the specs on the scope on the field of view that will be at 100 yards so if you're going to be shooting at 25 yards you have to divide that by 4. If you have a higher power scope at 25 to 50 yd it can become very difficult to find your target because the field of view is so small. Leopold has a 1.25x4 that is very good for low light situations which should be perfect for what you're planning to do. A four powers plenty good enough to 300 yd. The only scope I ever owned was a four power and I was very accurate out to 300 yards with it but I couldn't find anything close because it was a fixed. Hope this helps you. I'm going to stick with my aperture sight when it starts getting dark I'll go home. LOL 🤣

      @@brianlee6849 yea. i know i want low power, i try to explain that to people all the time that its a benefit while hunting. i have a vortex 1-4x24 on one of my other rifles that has worked out pretty good in the past. im hoping maybe ill find a 1-6 or 1-8 within my price range for this new setup im going for. im just worried the rifle will be overall heavier than i was going for to begin with, thats why i had been considering the red dot, mainly for its small size and weight

  • @cheif10thumbs

    I always have change in my pocket. Usually a penny or a dime works great for sight adjustments. Also A boresighter will save you a Butt load of money on ammo during sight in I use this one www.midwayusa.com/product/212999/bushnell-bore-sight-with-15-fixed-arbors. Make the elevation adjustment FIRST. Then do windage. Shouldn't take more than 3-5 rounds to dial that beast in. At 50 yards All 45/70 loads shoot low. They have a Rainbow trajectory. So sight them at least 3 inches high at 50 yards. Great stuff WTW!
