      When you’re using your body weight to depress the spring, you know it’s not a weak grip.

    First time Sig purchaser here. I've always been a Colt, S&W, Glock guy and for some reason (Still unknown even to me) I always thought of Sig as being a "James bond / Mission impossible / Designer type gun". Once I gave it a chance, I quickly found a fondness for this P365X and purchased a pair for the wife and I. There's a few nit pick quirks (Like with everything) but over all, I am embarrassed to admit to having my ignorant previous opinion. When I got around to mag loading, I couldn't wrap my head around what was going on. The first few were tough and it got progressively harder to the point that last round, I thought I would dent the brass and even thought the mag had the wrong spring. I'm glad I found this video. At least now, I'm pretty sure that I have not completely lost my mind and all of strength in my hands. It would be impossible for my wife to load these mags..... Maybe a factory included mag loader for ever gun sold would be a great idea.

      Yeah it's not just you. I bought a Ruger LCP Max and a Sig 365X. The Ruger actually came with a plastic mag loader, Sig did not even though it definitely should! I had to buy a mag loader to get that 12th round in the mags! It's crazy how stiff that spring is. Sig should throw in even a cheap $1-2 mag loader to help new customers out.

    I just purchased a P365 back in December 2021 as an off-duty gun. I have pretty strong hands from training with martial arts weapons, and I had a very hard time where I could not fit that 12th round in the 12-round magazine. My firearms instructor who qualified me with it advised me that the zigzag follower spring is high tension and I’ll just have to break it in through use. He got the P365X and went through the same thing. A humbling experience, lol!

    Just bought my P365 today (new). I had traded my S&W AirLite .357 for a FN 503. Very similar to the Sig 365. The FN503 was a total disaster at the range testing it out. It only had 8 in the mag with one in the pipe. It would fir the first shot then either misfire or stovepipe. It did it 8 times with the first box of 115 grain FMJ Federal rounds. Then I tried my 124 grain hydra shok that i would be carrying, and same thing. Returned the gun to the dealer and bought what I intended on buying in the first place....P365. It comes with 10 round mags and by the 7th round my thumb was numb. Your idea helped me finish loading to 10. I have a Glock mag assist somewhere that I never needed until now. I hope the springs get easier over time. Thanks for the video.

  • @HeinrichEichmann
    @HeinrichEichmann 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I love the tough guy on the video saying we are all a bunch of weaklings and don't have enough grip strength to load a magazine lol. The problem is not grip strength but the floorplates. The flush one it comes installed with made for the P365 XL which he is loading is recessed so the spring keeper can sit down into it making the magazine deeper, but the P365 floorplate is flat and not recessed. This shortens the length of the interior of the magazine by 1.06 millimeters which is about what I come up short when I'm trying to load the 12th round. You can see this by looking at the bottom of the magazine. With the XL floorplate installed the spring detent pin comes all the way through the hole and is flush with the bottom of the floorplate, but with the non-recessed floorplate made for the P365 the pin is sunk in 1.06 millimeters. I'm a bit mechanically inclined and thought for sure I didn't put it together correctly when I didn't see the pin come all the way through but it wasn't me. I wish Sig would engineer a recessed floor plate for us P365 owners or just call this an 11 round magazine. If you can open this picture you will see just how much taller the P365 floorplate is which pushes it up further into the magazine compared to the XL floorplate.

    • @wdtony
      @wdtony  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the detailed explanation. Great insight. It also seems like the spring metal might have different properties and the design of the magazine itself causes more friction binding than most other magazines. I assume this may be due to such tight tolerances.

I can load 12 rounds much easier. Full mags will actually load with action closed. I left it fully loaded for 5 days to break in. Function and slide lock was great throughout my last 3 shoots! That's crazy using a pen like that. Just buy the mag Lula loader. I have one but even with that mag Lula the 12 round was almost impossible to get that last round into the magazine. Then it wouldn't seat in the gun when I loaded it and when I finally got it to seat after banging on the bottom of it which is not a good thing the slide wouldn't rack! It was just jamming up on that last round instead of sliding back over it and picking it up on the return. In sigs little manual it says to lock the slide back put the magazine in and then release the slide and it will put one in the chamber. Eventually I got it to work by simply putting 11 into the magazine putting one in the chamber with the slide and then putting two more rounds into it after popping out the magazine. Kind of a pain in the ass but I suppose it's a good thing to have a good strong spring. Basically had the same problem with the 15 round mags that came with this tacpac.

    I watched this video today and walked to the bedroom and got out my 1911 and loaded it right up easy. Gee Thanks Guy!!!

    Just got some and have never had any pistol I could not load a magazine all the way. Thanks for the heads up. Ridiculous for what they charge for these. Note to self...SHTF, have Bic pens in the bug out bag.......

    @scottstrong9111 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the great idea. That last round you’re trying to get in will never go in. Rewatch the video and count the rounds going in - it’s already at full capacity. I like the idea with a plastic pen though!

  • @ryanduchaine3994
    @ryanduchaine3994 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Also, every 2 to 3 rounds, you need to slam the mag into your hand and make sure the rounds are going in correctly, and THEN slam the back of the mag into your hand to make sure they all SEAT to the rear of the mag... It DOES help for the last round, and after you have 12 rounds, you SHOULD be able to slam the mag again and STILL have some slack.

    Thank you so much for this video , I had a 365 tac pac and my grandpa had the 365x and the 365 tac was easy for him to rack and load the magazine so I traded him and these mags were a nightmare compared to my others. The magazines that come with the 365x I have are made in the USA . My old tacpac came with mags in Italy, which I believe are made by mecgar which I prefer

    I just received 2 15rd mags for my new XL and I thought I was doing something wrong until I saw this video. I have a 9mm speed loader and I decided I was going to relentlessly shove the full 15 rds. After about 2 - 3 cycles of loading and unloading, the spring loosened up a tad bit. I guess it’ll take some breaking in. Oh well. Still a great pistol.

      You didn’t have any issues shooting that first magazine with full 15 rounds? No malfunctions? Seems rather tight and mag needs to be slapped in to be seated correctly. Let me know

After watching the video I read your comment and thought I have nothing to lose. I pushed my 43xl loader on hard and I heard the springs pop. I was able to put 11 in each magazine. You saved my frustration and my fingers. Thank you!!

    I have a speed loader and I could only get 11 in one mag and 4 in the other. Before watching this video I thought they might have had some obstruction in them. I was looking for a way to take my mag apart. Interestingly enough , it only appears to be a problem with the 12 round mags. I don’t have a problem with my 17 round mag.

Eventually I got them all in, but the magazine was closing so tightly I could not rack the slide! I can do it will 11 so will leave the mags with 11 shells for awhile. Can you imagine being in a life threatening situation and not being able to rack the slide?!

    I was having such a hard time loading my SS Clip. I thought I didn't know what I was doing, until I seen this video. This video was very informative. Now I know it just wasn't me. It's extremely hard to load this darn thing😟.
    Is there any another brand of clip I could use in place of the Sig clip?🤔
    However, my hands were hurting trying to load this clip, So I put on some form fitting hand gloves, and it made it so much easier to load the amo inside of this clip🤗

    You can loosen up the spring like this:
    Get a long rigid object (like the handle side of a spoon or wrench) and shove it down the empty mag a few dozen times, actuating the spring thru the full range of motion. My mags are significantly easier to load now, I have no feeding issues.

    • @wdtony
      @wdtony  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have 5, 12 round mags. All are very hard to get that 12th round in. And worse. On a loaded chamber. Try to seat the mag. It takes so much force. Speedy reloads are hard.
    Also. My slide scratches the top bullet in the mag. Cause there’s no wiggle room. I put 11 rounds in my spare mag now. Reloads are so much easier.

    Getting the 12th round in isn’t the end of the problem. Once you have 12 rounds in it you have to force the mag to seat in the gun if the slide isn’t locked back. It’s such a tight fit I wonder about it causing issues. Has any body put enough rounds through these mags to make a difference in the tension?
