This isn't the first time I heard about death threats, particularly for Lakers players when the team is doing bad. It has always been unacceptable and I wish it would stop.

I am an OKC fan and WestBRICK ain't a thing back then as his pullup midrange is on par with the best back then.

99% of us agree threats do not belong in sports, but why are there no arrests if people are making these during the games? I first saw this discussion on Max Kellerman"s show. I thought Stephen A. nailed it. Certain professions come with some disadvantages. Threats are not and should never be part of those disadvantages. Please, understand that talk shows have to do what is needed to keep the audience and therefore their take should not get under a player's skin. LBJ has been hit harder than anyone I know and he still continues to do things the last of which was against Golden State. I might add that it is inconceivable that Golden State's fans will go against our players like that regardless of how off they or a certain superstar is shooting for the period. It's getting out of hand now, which makes sense because lakers fans are the most toxic ones in the NBA and their social media pages are the most toxic ones. OKC, Rockets and Wizards fans are classy and no one was calling him like that during the games and fans of those teams were not calling him like that on social media, only haters did.

Regardless of the performance of a player, I understand that threatening and harassing a player's family is something horrendous, but you also have to understand that in the states there are many crazy, drugged and schizophrenic people; but threatening a player's family is totally inexcusable.

I think the analyst are engaging in a type of "bullying", that they disguise as "just doing out jobs". When you talk about a person every-single-day negatively, it goes beyond just doing your job. This is a directed effort to either disparage a person, aka, "Tear them down", or to "build them up", but what goes up must come down. They will tear you down next year.
Because they talk about Lebron EVERY DAY, even though the Lakers are playing terrible, whoever plays with him gets talked about EVERY DAY too. Westbrook play may not even be the worse in the league, but because he's playing on the Lakers with Lebron, he and AD are going to get talked about EVERY DAY because Lebron does.
This is what Durant was trying to say when he made the comment: "If you play with Lebron, it brings negative attention to you". Your seeing play out right before your eyes. Kyrie, JR. Smith, K. Love, AD, Russ. If you play with him, prepare to be talked about everyday.
The media also, platforms like House of Highlights and Bleachers Report also play a huge role in that. They do shot for engagement and likes but these fans take it to another level
You wrote this book report to say there’s a limit to how much we can talk about a person who makes his living simply based on how much we watch and talk about them and the sport. There’s pros and cons to being and star. Don’t like it? Do better or quit. That said no place for threatening family

The psyche aspect will win everytime in total time. It's like they are mind analysts over sports analyst. I wanna know why a play broke down. Not just who miss a shot or cause a turnover. My toddlers can see that, that's obvious. I wanna dive deeper than that based on the coach's coaching and the execution of the plays. All I see is Westbrook missing that shot, but for the sake of an example was it the play the coach call that set him up for that brick or another teammate messing up their role in the play?

When you're making 90 million in 2 years and playing like garbo, expect to get some heat. Westbrook is averaging 18ppg 7apg 7rpg, those are good stats for being the 3rd guy behind Lebron and A.D...and the Lakers are not running his type of offense...the Lakers are losing cause A.D always getting hurt Lebron missing games, and the role players are not consistent... it's easy to blame Westbrook cause he's the only one playing.
Stats don’t tell the full story. He doesn’t impact winning and his attitude stinks.
His late - game turnovers and sabotage have been the real reason why they lost a lot of close games.
Apparently you dont watch much basketball. Westrbrick plays horrible defense. His turnover to assist ratio is miserable. Hi shooting percentage is the worst in the league. He is a liability on the court. He is not a winner with a winning attitude. AD had one good year with the Lakers, but he is also accountable for the lackluster play by the Lakers. Bottom line, Westbrick sucks and is being paid $85M over the next two years. So yeah, fans can call him whatever they want.
