Windy makes a great point and he's doing a good job! A great, patriotic job, actually. He knows that he needs to be careful and keep the big thing, the big thing, which is winning a gold medal for Team USA. Any minor distractions can crater that quickly. With that said, you really can't defend not playing Tatum in a 30 pt blowout. You just can't. Hopefully, it's not too big a deal. Thankfully, I don't think Jayson is too controlled by his ego, but every superstar has one.

You all are missing the point. A lot of team USA’s game plan was built around interior physical defense against Serbia. Interior defense wise Tatum is not better than Lebron, Embiid, AD or Bam so he’s not playing ahead of them. Second point, in a tight game which the game was for 2 1/2 quarters you need offensive output. KD is offensively better than Tatum and Team USA best offensive weapon so he’s going to play ahead of Tatum
Tatum is not a guard so he’s not going a rotational piece for Curry and Edwards. That would be Holiday and Derrick white, with Booker being a guard also, so will be in the rotation Fundamentally , Tatum really isn’t as useful to team USA winning. 4 years ago Tatum was by far one of the best players on the team, probably second best after KD I understand matchups but this is beyond disrespectful.
Tatum is on higher level than 70% of team USA. Not playing him is beyond BS
Jason Tatum having a DNP in a blow out game in the Olympics, shows a lack of coaching and respect. I don't remember any star in any Olympics before this getting a DNP. If I was Tatum I'd prolly head home...
Embid deserves more DNP, AD and Bam are balling hard especially on defensive end and doesn't slow down the team.
Outside from the Center Position, everything else can be positionless!
