Yes there is. If Russ was playing the same as in Washington or Houston they’d be a top seed. They’re currently 2nd in defensive rating. If Russ scores better like he always has, Lakers are a contender. And imagine if that PLUS the role players shoot a little better. Like Nunn who shouldn’t be as bad as he’s been.

I think that playing hard defense has taken away there legs when trying to shoot. As the season goes on and if they stay healthy they can probably work up the legs to have the endurance to play solid defensively and shoot the basketball. They won't be a great shooting team but they will be way better than the percentages they have put up so far. It still won't be a championship team though.
