Corey I appreciate that you want to please these young adults. If it means out of your comfort zone, waaaaay out of your comfort zone, you go there and you shine. I find that such a wonderful character trait I admire. You are giving them such a gift. The bookcase is so happy and fun !!!
I started doing fabric backing on bookcases in my teenage room (back in the dark ages). I changed the backing so many times and transformed those bookcases entirely as that piece moved around the house. So fun!
That is a fabulous combo. It's Monday morning and pouring with rain here and that piece was so uplifting. The distressed edge allows for the dark underneath to make it less "perfect" but also more grown up, and will accommodate any dings from the new owner without them feeling they've damaged it. To me that's a more practical solution than matchy matchy and "perfect" surfaces. Lovely!
I agree with your statement about enjoying watching you paint those colors. I would never put a yellow piece of furniture in my house, but I can appreciate the beauty in the piece, for someone else.
Absolutely gorgeous! I totally get why these projects outside your own preferred color palettes are so inspiring. I'm not a yellow person, even as an accent piece, but this turned out gorgeous! That fabric absolutely MAKES it!
You are such an inspiration! Thank you for all you do to help the underprivileged children that need your kindness. By the way I love the fabric and the bookshelf turned out beautiful as always!
Of course it turned out beautiful Cory! I’ve not seen anything that you’ve redone that I didn’t love! Love the fabric with the yellow paint...so pretty!
The fabric is beautiful and contrasts well with the yellow. If this goes to a young person, especially, I think they will really like the bright colors. It would brighten an otherwise dull room for sure. 🙂👍
When I was young, as these young adults that you’re helping are, I would totally have these colors in my apartment. I can certainly understand how they pick these beautiful colors! A real masterpiece!❤️
I love it! It reminds me of a wonderful Botanical Book Store I use to frequent in the '70s. Yes I'm giving away my age, but I don't care, this piece really brought back a Wonder-Filled time for me. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah, I do like doing that kind of thing. I found a old cabinet from a hospital alongside the road and took it and revamped it. It turned out really nice and once again, thank you for the entertainment value that you bring.
Beautiful. I like what you said when you were distressing this piece... since it was kind of rough you were not trying to make it perfect but distress it and let the piece tell its story. I also love the yellow with that fabric. It’s so nice to watch your creative process.
Love that shade of blue and the beautiful floral pattern on your fabric, hope you will use it again! And the yellow paint is the perfect complement! Thanks very much for your videos!
Oh my! I love this, yellow is my favorite color. The minute you showed the fabric I was hooked. I'm not always a fan of furniture that color but you sure can make them look elegant and welcoming. Good job.
Hi Cory! The yellow with that fabric is beautiful. My home is very neutral as well, as subdued colors are calming for me. But it is so fun to see pieces redone in the cheery colors. I always love the way they look. 💕
That's the colour I painted my used bookcase when I was about 12, yellow is cheerful. 😊 The bookcase is made of solid wood apart from the back so it's going to be very durable and you've made it beautiful. 👍😊
Love those colors together, and yes to using that fabric again! I am like you, totally addicted to seeing the transformation. So glad you are able to help out those who need it! 💖💖💖
Yellow & orange are my favorite colors. So this piece spoke to me although i don't have anything in my house that is Yellow also is a neutral girl very well done
That fabric is to die for!!! I have to go find some... don’t know what I’ll use it for right off, but to is GORGEOUS!!! I love the color combination you used.. CUDOS to your family and friends😍😍😍😍😍
Nice job Cory!! This piece looks fabulous! I would have never used this color, or thought of using it, however, You made it look very presentable!! Very creative with the background material and color!!
The yellow and the fabric worked really well together. Yes, that poor lady who used Gorilla Glue, it was so hard. She had to have it surgically removed.
What did you think of that fabric? I want to use it again, I loved it so much!

It was very spring/summery!! ☀️

It turned out as cheerful and charming as Corey! :-)
Thank you Bettina!
Yeah, I do like doing that kind of thing. I found a old cabinet from a hospital alongside the road and took it and revamped it. It turned out really nice and once again, thank you for the entertainment value that you bring.
Thanks Jonni! Im glad you got to repurpose something that would've ended up wasted at the dump

Walmart, Target, hardware and automotive stores carry the shop towels. I love those because they are lint free.
