How come metal bassists dont mute the strings when switching?
They usually do but it's more subtle. You can use your left hand to mute as well as your right hand thumb. Since most metal players tend to have their hand more flat against the strings, and mostly play the bottom two, staying anchored works pretty well as opposed to constantly moving your thumb around. It's not just metal players either.

Nor really imo. this is slightly heavier and more brutal than your average Old school death metal. Doesn't reach the heaviness of something like Suffocation but is definitely heavier than Obituary, Malevolent Creation, Deicide, etc...

Definitely not a warwick rarely do they have this style fretboard dots and usually they have a 2 piece bridge and hardtail I'm pretty sure its some sort of ibanez.

D# standard. He’s playing on a five string but the fifth string is never used, so if you have a five string put it in A# standard.

I have a jazz bass and precision bass . Granted they're not the highest end models but they sound great to my ears . Point being a jazz bass and precision bass will afford you the ability to play in any setting . Ntm style and you can sound incredible . Your tone with that custom J bass ( idk if it's active or passive / my guess is you have it on passive mode ,) . Sounds phenomenal . As a bassist I never felt I needed a custom Spector " Heavy Metal looking beast / bass ,) . With 10 tone controls 400 dollar active pickups etc . It's all from the fingers .
Is active bass. I used a mix between analog and digital sound processing.
@@warBeatsDc I'm learning something here . When you say you use a mix of different recording sources . Do you means you'll double track bass lines using completely different equipment before mixing and mastering the final product or just depending on the job at hand ?

( surprise surprise ) brand new strings.
You can dial away until you're blue in the face. If your strings are dead, you'll still sound like ass.
