Hey Bradley, huge Helloween fan here, I’d love to see you do a deep dive into their discography. Like you said the Keepers albums were super ahead of their time, but the additional thing I think gets overlooked by a lot of metalheads is how as a result, their later albums end up doing way more than any other power metal band I’ve heard in diversifying the sound, from Dark Ride’s downpicked riffs to Gambling With the Devil’s Groove-esque breakdowns. There’s some awesome stuff to uncover and I’d love to see/hear your thoughts on it.

Disclaimer i only skimmed the top 3 picks of each genre didnt see if any of these bands where mentioned during the video
I fucking love that you added Amaranthe. They're so hated when they are really good
The beat boxing Papa at the end had me dying
The fact that Dragonforce was not picked under power metal is criminal
And powerwolf
i thought dragonforce was speed metal
@@jakobtol💀
@@jakobtol They have an album out called Extreme Power Metal, they're just really fast power metal. But in my opinion they are definitely Power Metal.
They're one of the most famous bands but their albums after maximum overload are pretty mid tbh
no Therion on symphonic im gonna cry 😭
For real. They more or less invented it, and were big back then.
Vovin is a classic. Still holds up.
No Therion, no Haggard.
Scrolled way too far to fin Haggard @@cagdas135
Choosing Moonspell was great! Big hug from Portugal!
I think Gorguts should have gotten the nod for Tech Death considering how far ahead of the curve they were. I mean the band Obscura named themselves after their album.
I think they are just death metal. They are too enjoyable to be tech death.
Tech death can be enjoyable too, Archspire albums are somehow funny to listen.
@@niccolocolonnelli901 Funny at how bad they are.
"Were"? To this day nobody has outdone Obscura, though it could just as easily be called 'avant garde death metal'.
@@niccolocolonnelli901 Archspire are technical deathgrind like Origin
Agree with a lot of this, but I'd have had Rhapsody in Symphonic, to make room for someone like Sabaton, Blind Guardian or maybe Manowar, included Battle Beast in Pop, and definitely have figured out how to get Symphony X into prog :)
Edit: and just like that you've added their own category, I should learn to not shoot my load early.
3:14 wait did FREAKING CHRISTOPHER LEE sang with rapsody!!!
Im realy glad you put crypta in the new death metal category. I realy like them and they are one of the best new metal bands around
Haken is great, but I dunno if I'd pick them over BTBAM in prog.
Same haken is avant garde anyway
Industrial should have been:
Nine Inch Nails
Ministry
Ramstien or whatever
or
Skinny Puppy
Should've added a Crossover genre just so you could include DRI
and power trip should be there too lol
Every band he put in heavy metal is a classic
Maaaan! That Magic of the Wizard's Dream clip with Christopher Lee gave me the biggest goosebumps I ever had.
"Emperor was the only early BM band that could play their instruments and knew about music" as he hovers his cursor over Enslaved. 😮
I actually screamed with joy when I heard you say “Rammstein”. One of my all time favorite bands on planet earth; that and TOOL… which was why I was a little bummed you didn’t include them on the list.
Seven Spires getting some attention is legit.
yo ik, i was so surprised
I am supprised you went with In Flames insted of At the Gates
AILD being ‘wild card’ is madness to me
No shit whenever someone asks who is the biggest and best metalcore band is either them or Killswitch
do a vid of u going thru ur favorite bands and glazing them because u have good taste and all i listen to rn i got them from ur videos
Surprising you'd leave Megadeth off the list, less surprising you left Tool off. : )
In Flames at #1 makes me so happy
your lists are the fucking Rolling Stone of metal
I can't tell if you're trying to praise or insult him.
more than RS anyway
above surface layer list beyond rolling stone levels of basic examples tbh
I wrote a similar comment 😂
@@perlundgren7797 RS has notoriously shitty takes. Thought everyone knew that lol
Bro knew exactly how to get people like me to rage click 💀💀💀
I ended up just smirking tho lmfao
I know Galneryus always gets mentioned from Japan; but Unlucky Morpheus and LOVEBITES are my 1-2 picks. They each delve into multiple genres of metal; so it's hard to categorize them.
This is my list for a few subgenres,.
Traditional:
1) Iron Maiden
2) Dio
3) Scorpions
Groove:
1) Pantera
2) Sepultura
3) I honestly can’t choose for number 3.
Thrash:
1) Metallica
2) Megadeth
3) Testament
Neoclassical:
1) Cacophony
2) Yngwie Malmsteen
3) Rainbow (isn’t metal :d)
Prog:
1) Dream Theater
2) Rush (isn’t metal :d)
3) Tool
I recommend checking out Lamb of God and DevilDriver if you want to add more bands to your groove category :)
@@biscuit340 lamb of god slipped my mind. Devildriver is pretty underrated, I barely hear them mentioned.
17:14 So close ☹️
i really expected better picks for the gothic metal section from you as a brit (paradise lost, my dying bride)
Thanks for the Seven Spires love! 🖤
My heartbroke when no one in the chat mentioned Infant Annihilator while they were choosing the Deathcore. like they are the dad of Modern deathcore vocals. I don't mean SS, Lorna, or Whitechapel are bad but IA deserves more appreciation
i did see some people in chat mentioning them but yeah i agree
Yes it should have been infant annihilator , suicide silence and shadow of intent or slaughter to prevail
NeoClassical - Ne Obliviscaris!
I'd have put them in Prog but I would have put them in. Make up a new genre if you have to but put them on the list.
Stratovarious

bro, bonus points for the audio panning with the screen transition
While wearing headphones, that caught me off guard in a good way, lol
Not mentioning Dio is criminal
Where's tool?
In alternative where they belong.
Cool list. I’m going to play an album from each artist every day at work, starting tomorrow. It’s tinnitus time.
Where's Chuck?
Death Metal ranking should be
1. Chuck.
2. Schu
3. Ldiner
death metal is Chuck and ONLY Chuck
Most overrated death metal band

Where's Tool? Where's Limp Bizkit? Where's Megadeth? :(
Great list. Didn't forget about the old classic nostalgic bands 😊
