Hey #EarlyGang! I hope this didn't come across as harsh, I just find sometimes when it comes to streaming myths and misinformation, being blunt is the only way to cover it, otherwise you end up with people continuing to promote dodgy tips, ideas, etc that are based on "grey areas" and "Chill, it'll all work out." Hey I found your channel recently and just wanted to let you know I started looking into and trying to stream. I wanted to thank you so much for your content. I've recently had a few consistent viewers and a small handful of chatters and I love seeing them pop in and say hi and chat with me. We laugh and cheer when I beat bosses in rogue likes. Your videos really helped give me confidence to try working on it.
I think the "streams can't be minimized" myth comes from the fact, that PCs tend to just stop running stuff that is in the background, if they need to start managing their ressources. Thats just a thing PCs do, so you don't open dozends of windows and you pc starts going up in flames. But that although means, that if you friend Bob is "lurking" by having your stream open in a minimized tap, while he is gaming some hardcore resourceintensive stuff and watching 4k videos on the second and third monitor, the pc might just decide "Well that muted, minimized thing there... let's not actively run that." and tada, Bob and his 10 identical brothers claim they lurked your stream yesterday, but your average viewership was less than that.
I am not saying twitch is lying but sites do have access about whether a tab is active or not, it exists so a site can decrease performance while inactive which is very common to browser games
My comment in this wasn’t saying twitch couldn’t know, I see how it comes across that way, it was referring to the idea that Twitch would have to play a guessing game of who is tabbed in vs who is playing a game but still has it open on the second monitor, etc They can tell if it’s up or not, but not all the intense specifics.
I'm new to both streaming and multstreaming and was wondering how you monitor all the streams? I've been opening a web page for yourube, twitch and kick stream managers and watching my strams to keep an eye on everything so if one of them stops working I can fix it. I cant find anything about this so I don't know if i need to do that or not. Side note im using obs to stream and not using a restream service
Side tip I’ve found affective is posting shorts NOT to your subscriber feed. Curious if you’ve tried this on TH-cam? For a small channel like mine was a night and day difference. Thanks for the great content as always!
There is no difference, the way TH-cam works is it tests to audiences, and understands how those audiences respond. The theory is by not sending it to your subs you only get active viewers. But TH-cam isn’t dumb, with shorts if a sub doesn’t click it, but the shorts feed audience loves it, it’s not going to hold it back from the feed. Those are two different sets of feedback that don’t impact each other. For example, if I release a video and it does terribly in browse that doesn’t mean TH-cam won’t let it do amazing in search if audiences who search find it and love it. In short, TH-cam is smart, it knows where the video or short is getting views from and will allow it to thrive. My channel was small and had no real viewership and I’d get millions of views on my shorts even with them going to the sub feed because they were good content. And after looking at your content, I don’t think your big enough or breaking through the TH-cam testing period enough to say that not sending to the sub feed helps. Not meant in a bad way.
@@StreamScheme that’s fair. Only brought it up because my shorts seemed to gain reach after turning that off. Otherwise I’d be lucky to hit 1k. My main platform is Facebook. No one cares about fb but if you treat it like TH-cam some crazy things happen.
@streamscheme for the music on live streams, are you aware that ascap granted universal music license for twitch? Per the license the vods must be turned off, that may be where the myth originates
The only thing I have noticed about the viewer thing is If I have my stream and my friends stream open at the same time whichever one is in focus is the only one my view counts towards however idk if thats just on my end or what.
now one question because I can't quite get some information about it. I'm a musician aswell and I would love to stream my process of learning new songs on guitar, playing along to them etc. do you know if that is possible? I'm from germany aswell, so.. even harsher rules.. haha.
Any resources for learning Davinci Resolve tools for live content creation? I can kludge my way through but if the content exists then figuring it out myself feels like a waste of time. Big cheers Eljay, more people should be like you
ive been streaming for 4 years i am affiliate and stream often yet anytime i stream i for almost all of my stream get 0 viewers watching me no chat interactions no nothing i have no idea what im doing wrong. im a variety streamer and dont just play one game
Quick one about movies. There are people who “react” to movies on youtube but have 45min long videos. So they are technically showing half the movie in their “reaction” video. Its actually dumb how thats allowed
Hey ElJay, I noticed you have been covering alot on twitch streaming and was wondering if your thoughts on youtube streaming have changed since your video "was moving to youtube streaming a mistake?"
I just realized that I have actually had a few issues with elgato stuff myself I didn’t see it till a few minutes ago the two capture cards that died on me were elgato and now I realize that every single time they update the wave link software I have to fix my audio settings in SLOBS so now I think I will switch to the Bridgecast and Shure SM7B with Sonar
@@StreamScheme I’ve downloaded the sonar software and will use that till I get the Bridgecast I’m also going to get the Shure SM7B early next year thanks for the advice
speaking of music, there are also a TON of smaller creators who allow their audio to be used on stream but not in recorded content, and if you know them, you can help spread their music while also not stealing from people. (if you care for house/lofi, lofi lia and snail's house allow this!! great to know you're anti-ai content, btw, a lot of people in the twitch space are awful about it. people online get scammed by these guys every day and it's only getting worse bc people don't care.
On a side channel on TH-cam :) I don’t advertise it because if the content is something you’d like TH-cam will show you, I don’t want to sandbag my content
Aha okey .. i stream every day at night "EU" 0-2 Max viewer ... Now nearly 1,5 months got 55follower half of them are Artist who want to sell me thinks ... No way ... I'm very sad and lonely....
The only time I get irritated by twitch view count is when I have multiple friends chatting and actually watching that aren't being counted😂 Otherwise, who cares?
I find there is usually a reason they aren’t counting, but as you said, who cares right. At the end of the day with streaming when you end stream you have zero viewers, it’s not the important number.

The muted thing… so many people still believe that and it even says in TWITCH’S q&a page that it doesn’t matter
Great video, especially the part about "viewership". Too many people speak without knowing how anything works.
As someone who just started out on Twitch and TH-cam this was a very well timed video. Thank you!!
Tiktok is the worst for bans. I caught a bullying ban while streaming a racing game, and takling about the track I was racing at.

I just started streaming last week and your videos have helped me so much thanks you my guy
Love your helpful content, you’ve helped me set up my obs and audio

I just started streaming a week ago i always wanted to but only now have the ability im here to listen my friend
Thank you for this bro

Again, it IS NOT the length. It is the transformation. I thought that was very clear.
Thank you for the video, it’s great and very informative content.
I thought I was trippen but this makes it clear.
As a geometry dash streamer i am kinda required to use copyrighted music which sucks. GD is a copyright hell :(
Hey ElJay, I noticed you have been covering alot on twitch streaming and was wondering if your thoughts on youtube streaming have changed since your video "was moving to youtube streaming a mistake?"
Not At all, I just don’t have anything to teach about it, it’s simple, you make good videos. :)
@@StreamScheme that's great to hear. Thanks for responding!
Also I’ve only made 2 twitch videos in the past 10, so that’s 10 weeks :)
@@StreamScheme fair point, I was just curious. Thank you again for replying, been following for the last 3 years :)
All good, I just got worried I was spamming twitch content lmao

You don’t need Sonar with professional Mixers like the bridgecast :)
@@StreamScheme thanks
@@StreamScheme what capture card would you recommend I use Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X
@@StreamScheme I’ve downloaded the sonar software and will use that till I get the Bridgecast I’m also going to get the Shure SM7B early next year thanks for the advice
How can I gain access to the free overlays on the discord?
Read the rules
Where are you? 😢😢
Love yo ur stuff!!! Thank you you truly help
Should I make two channels, one for my steams and one for my edited videos and shorts?
No
@@StreamScheme thank you for your help Love your videos, put them on whenever I’m gaming or editing

At the end of the day with streaming when you end stream you have zero viewers, it’s not the important number.
Let's be honest though. There is a LOT of favoritism and corruption in the platform.
I mean, it’s on every platform.
But at the same, it’s very easy to not get caught up in it, held back, or banned.
