Building my XJ right now. This is my second one. Doing a 5.5” iron rock 3 link front 4 link rear fox 2.0 shocks. 35’s, gears, lockers, sye, driveshaft. I’ve done this trail at least 10 times and have a blast everytime! See ya on the trails
It has been at least 10 years since my Son and I took that trail. Looks a bit more rough than I remember. I made it in my 91 Explorer with a 6" lift, 33's and the stock Trac-Loc in the rear without issue. We made the trip to have lunch in the Saloon. Since I am only about 15 miles from Lake Pleasant, I think I need to go again. It will be in the same Explorer.
I've made this run four or five times and it changes every time. This trail is very underrated in the fact that it's a Long trail. It's very rewarding though cause crown King camping and the town is an amazing destination. Great video !
I do that trail probably once a month I live just about 20 minutes from the trailhead then doing it for 8 or 9 years now I've Seeing lots of changes over the years there's actually more than one way than the backway there's another backway but great love to see people using the thrill you all know it was an old railroad track at 1 time
Amazing Video guys love it And great rigs i live in Payson and just got a 95 xj would really like to know what you have upgraded on axles and anything i need to change out that will break
My son and I did that trail last in 2019, in a RZR 900 trail 50” model, if you can believe that! We were in a large group - But wow, it looks a lot different now - I suppose some of those bypasses you took were the “harder” route around (we call those red trails!) it does look a lot rougher in general though, especially that large rock that apparently fell down from the recent rains. Well done video!
I made the bumpers here’s a video showing how the rear one is made! Notch Flares And Body Work On A Jeep XJ? We Don’t Know What We Got Ourselves Into… th-cam.com/video/tubsOdOJUxs/w-d-xo.html
Just found ya, so know zero about your rigs. Building a XJ up for trail use currently here. What's your lift? What's the tire size? How much fender bashing did you have to do? 4 1/2 inch and 33's in progress here. Not sure if I need to slash and bash or not. Learning.
I had the same sort of thing happened to a 7gal water jug while I was on the Rubicon but all I did was took my Gerber knife and I cut a chunk off of one of the lugs of my tires and stuffed it in the hole and it is still that way to this day with no leak.
@@mountaincrawlers8 Yeah I don't know if the tire rubber will agree with the gasoline as I have never had to carry extra fuel on the Rubicon or any other trails cause just a little over 20 gallons will take my 2 hole Pioneer XJ a week of trailriding to use up(dunes and highway is another story...)but I always make sure to take all the water I can cause you never know what could happen and you can't live off of gasoline alone. I'm gonna be going to Arizona in a couple weeks after I get back from a trip to Oregon I might have to check out that trail you guys were just on,nice video. 😉👍
Hey just watched your crown king video and am now subscribed. What kind of brackets are you using for your ditch lights? All I've been able to find for my 01 xj mount to the a pillar.
I made my own brackets. this video of the ditch lights will give you an idea. I didn’t like the pillar ones either. th-cam.com/video/Hsf9pUUTxvc/w-d-xo.html
Question, are these Jeeps stout enough to do both long highway duty and then off road as well? Because I see a lot of guys trailering their rigs to a trail.
I drove this trail in my dads stock 72 chevy, no lift and 30 inch all seasons. i was like 12 or something. Nice easy trail. Just a walk in the park, one of the easiest trails you can do. Still fun though 👍
@@DevinReavis you should try it now. I don’t know how old you are but since most of us were 12 this trail has completely changed. My buddies dad said back in the day his parents used to pull a camp trailer up it. No chance doing any of that today.
This is one of the best wheeling videos ive ever seen. Minimal jaw jacking, good angles, cool rigs. Thanks for taking the time.

Good video angles. Thank you!
Nicely put-together video! Planning our trip out there in February of next year and super excited to run this one. Liked & subscribed! 👍's up!
@28:20 all you needed to do was lightly left foot brake to slow the slipping tires down, aka the poor man’s lockers lol 🤙

I think you should have done a rig review. Suspension, lockers, axles, gears, tires etc
Can't wait to visit there next week!! Thank you for the insight!
No problem you guys be safe and have fun! Get some footage so I can see how your rigs did!

Graet video Guys. Done that trail twice, Knocker Rocker is no Joke. 😮
Wow those are some super rigs!!!!
nice camera work, got some great shots of the XJs climbing the challenging sections there.
Cool video. Those bad boys are just walking up there! I think I might struggle to get up there with my 2 inch lift and 31s 😂
Appreciate it!
@@mountaincrawlers8 Appreciate you sharing! I know how much work it takes to make a video like this!
It’s definitely hard work but rewarding for sure! Hoping to hit that monetization goal soon!
@@mountaincrawlers8 good luck to you. I’m sure it won’t take long.
Sweet video! Keep em’ coming man! Looks like a great time 🤙🏼

Yes we did the main route the normal road is considered the bypass.
I just love XJ’s! I was looking for one late last year, but I couldn’t find any decent ones, so I ended up buying a 98 Wrangler! lol
What is better than XJ? Four XJs!
Great video!! we are going to head up there in the next month or so!!
Would love to get yall, 4xtrail and us together and do some stuff. It would be cool!
hello, I live in argentine. I have a XJ, thanks for your videos
Was there last year. Same tough rocks at end!
Sweet XJ's guys! Who made the bumpers for you? I love the way the spare is angled.
I made the bumpers here’s a video showing how the rear one is made!

T4r guy here. Loved ur video, very inspiring! Who had the smallest tires of all the xj's?
The green one is the smallest on 31s but he does have Spartan lockers front and rear and it helped a lot
I ran trepadors on my Cherokee,Great tire ,but I think they tend to dig too much,I think my xj does better with my patagonias..thx for the video
What are the setups on these XJ's? Tires, lifts etc.. Love the vid!!

That’s a great idea! We’d definitely have to do that with a fuel one. Glad that it was only water spilling on his roof!

What rear bumper and tire carrier are you running?
It’s the Amazon DIY bumper with my own touches for the cut and fold corners and I built the tire carrier using ruffstuffs DIY kit
im down in Tucson Id love to do a ride with you all and even take some detailed photos of your rear bumper love it
Just hit us up whenever you’re up in the white mountain area!

We drove these Jeeps over 600 highway and dirt miles on this trip
What tires and what size are on Larry’s jeep they look INSANE!
37x12.5x16 Maxxis Trepadors
Nice! IMHO leave the music out and do sum narrative.
I just want to know how they got that mining equipment and Winnebago up there?
Remember the bypasses I mention in the video?
