Great video!!! I am in the process of completing already. Did you notch the 2x6 for the passenger and driver seat belt bolt?
@@az99jeepxj62 no don’t have to touch the seat belt bolts at least on all the years I’ve done
I saw your xj videos and I wanted to know what tire and rims you would recommend for a 6" lift I need 35s because I'm on a budget thanks. great videos
Getting about 14 driving a 1995 Cherokee, but I hope these will help me get back to the original mileage specs. I think it got about 16 in the city when it was new. I feel like I can do this job watching you, so thank you for making it look easy, at least. Nothin' like a Jeep! 👍
I’m on 4+ years, 4:10 gears, Ausie Lockers , Chromemoly axles. 33’s and 35’s. Noisy but works. Don’t drive like a maniac and it will be just fine.
So is it still working?
Completely get it being a dad and the full time worker for my family and it’s hard to wanna take time out of the little time I get with my family to do something or edit to make TH-cam content. But gonna be here to support you no matter what or how much content you post. Hope for the best for you and your family. Family first 100%
Hey hey, there’s that beautiful money maker we’ve so dearly missed!!! My condolences to you and your family on the passing of your wife’s grandfather. Family always come first and foremost!!! Keep up the great work brother, and I can’t wait to get out wheeling with you “someday” 😂.
Family first brotha! We'll be here, along with the rest. Many more adventures to come for you.
Proud of you for making family a priority! Offroading is fun, and our mountains are amazing, but some stuff comes first! Let us know when you're heading out. :)
I don’t blame you for taking a break. I take several week to month long breaks all the time if we haven’t camped or I haven’t taken on a project video worthy. With work, providing for family and other obligations it can be hard to be consistent with content that’s worth your time to edit and worth everyone’s time to watch. Can’t wait for the next video and seeing your channel grow! 😎👌🏼
@@2AOverland thanks man that’s some real truth right there! I can’t wait for what the future holds and look to your channel all the time for inspiration. You do an excellent job! Can’t wait to one day collab with you on an overlanding trip.
@ I really appreciate it man! We’ll definitely need to set up a trip here soon! 😎
Good video angles. Thank you!
I installed a set last week on a small vessel. Not bad
Great job on the bumper! Was there much sag on the front suspension with winch installed - if so did you add coil spring spacers. I have 94 XJ with 3” zone & 31’s, - I don’t want to loose any lift hight.
Did the controller can activate the switches main on/off and individual switches even if the truck is off without the accessories on ?
This is one of the best wheeling videos ive ever seen. Minimal jaw jacking, good angles, cool rigs. Thanks for taking the time.
Where abouts yall located in AZ? Id love to go hang out and break parts and repair again. Got a older 89 renix that needs love. Actually 2 to make 1 decent one.
I love the sticker on the back window. Where can I get one?
Thank You !
If your doing balljoints every 6 months to a year, your doing something wrong
@@mikegreer9041 nah parts store ball joints suck. My spicers have lasted 2 years so far.
I have a wj would love to do this !
Get a 2.8 diesel liberty get 30+ in the summer and 24 to 28 wintrr, I have 6 of them and one 4.0 grandcherokee working on.
So how long did it hold up?
37 X 12? X... love me some tall skinny tahrz. My F150 is wearin' a 34 X 10.50 X R17LT D Load Range Toyo A/T. It's a dual-porpoise macheen, see. Highway and off-highway. Cheers!
The squares look so much better than the 97-01
This was a very helpful video. I am eyeballing these injectors for my 4.0 stroker build. Thank you for doing this.
Won’t it block the doors if it bends just a little bit
What gears do you think are ideal for a manual on 33’s? From what I’ve read 4.10’s are it but there isn’t much info out there for the ax15.
@@dantheman6931 go 4.56 you won’t regret it. Will help with hill climbs on the highway a lot more than 4.10. Also will help with low gearing off-road.
@ thanks dude! I was looking at Rusty’s website for sourcing the kit. Dana30 and Chrysler 8.25. I think the gear manufacturer is Motive. What brand or source do you recommend?
Nice Jeep. A pin fitment issue on the ECM connector. That transfer case would sure be nice in my 88. Have you ever done any alternator upgrades on the old Cherokee’s. I’d like to put a 130amp unit in my 88 Cherokee.
Just found your channel, very nice. I’m an old wheeler, 68, but still wheel but combine it with gold prospecting. Currently have an 88 Cherokee with a stroker 4.0, ford 8.8 with 4/11 in the rear with an electric locker, the stock D30 in the front with a locker, manual locking hubs in the front also. Has AX15 manual 5speed, running 33inch BFG KM2’s. It gets me around the Northern Sierra Nevada gold county just fine.
Building my XJ right now. This is my second one. Doing a 5.5” iron rock 3 link front 4 link rear fox 2.0 shocks. 35’s, gears, lockers, sye, driveshaft. I’ve done this trail at least 10 times and have a blast everytime! See ya on the trails
Oh man, will the brand new $100k car be able to drive $1300 miles?! What a cliffhanger! Better put a bunch of those lame ass ducks on the dash for protection and good luck
@@benjammin7786 ducks are dumb. This was our first road trip with this jeep. Also it was a 1/4 of your price tag lol 😂
Beautiful build! You've given me some inspiration to get started on my 96
Also love the wheels what brand?
They are black rhino wheels that came with the jeep when we bought it. I’ll eventually be swapping out for bead-locks and 37s.
Does your JT engine lifters ever sound loudish? Mine I can hear them ticking a tiny bit not loud but I notice it. Is it normal? I have the same year and package of yours
All the 3.6 engines will eventually get the notorious lash adjuster/rocker tick. (AKA lifter tick) no mine doesn’t have it right now but yours are probably on their way out. I replace them quite often at my work hence why I bought my wife the 3.6 as I know my way around this engine very well and can fix it quickly. Be prepared to replace all rockers, lash adjusters and possibly a camshaft or two if they are scored from a failed rocker. If you catch it in time you usually find the camshafts aren’t damaged though.
Also keep up religiously on oil changes with good oil. Doing this will help prolong the life of the top end on these engines.
@@mountaincrawlers8absolutely will watch out! Mine only has 35k on it and under warranty. My jeep dealer said it seemed good when I had them listen and such just hoping it’s nothing major
You could always call trail Mater lol
I hear he’s pretty expensive
Bought my gladiator a year and a half ago. It's my 7th Jeep and it is by far my favorite. Super versatile for my family of 4+dog.
Sick jeep I have a similar XJ but a 1998 twin locked Spartans on 33s and its amazing how capable they are
Hi, I have a question, please help me. I have a 98 Cherokee with a Spartan in the back, the clearance is 0.133, I think it's within specifications. I used Valvoline Synpower synthetic 75w140 oil. Now, what I don't know is that it's normal that when turning, for example in a parking lot or any other turn, it makes a lot of noise and sometimes when I start straight, is this normal or what do I need to do? Please, thank you.
The Gladiator did awesome. I can't wait to see you upgrade it! Looks way better with the Grumper gone.
We are excited to make it work for our family adventures!
So awesome to see the new family overlander. I’ve always wanted a gladiator lol. So jealous you guys got to go to Moab. I am hopefully gonna go to Moab in May for my birthday hopefully and get to finally check Moab off my bucket list
Awesome man I hope you can make it there! Maybe we will join you
@ that’s the goal for sure. But I’d love to maybe make a trip to Moab and wheel with you and your group. It’s about 6.5 hours drive for me so it’s really in the middle of us kinda lol
I'm a fan of the Gladiators as well...Seem to favor the less popular jeeps. Keeps the ducks away!
Trivia time: Wallace, ID was a wild town long after many other wild towns settled down. It was known mostly for, besides mining silver, brothels and bars. Still kinda a cool town, but was more interesting up into the 1980's.
A lot of folks buy in Idaho, especially from Oregon and quite a few from Washington. I'm a couple hours from Idaho in Washington, people from here go over the line to buy cigarettes, booze, and firearm related things. Washington is pretty tight assed about everything, and bludgeons us with taxes. LOTS and lots of good wheeling around the area, you were literally surrounded in the C'd'A area. Jaw dropping scenery, and not a lot of traffic most the time.
Yes we love and miss Idaho everyday. Will eventually move back one day.
It’s been a minute, hope y’all had a good Thanksgiving!
We did! It was good to see family. Hope you did as well.
Question for you, I purchased the 3” rock link kit for my XJ. No SYE yet, will a transfer case drop work with this kit, or will I be required to purchase an SYE?
@@MrNcotton this kit comes with its own transfer case drop provided if you choose to use it.
How much weight do you reckon your rack will hold? Can a 230lbs man jump on the top of that thing? I’ve got 10 of those K Suspension support mounts. I am wanting to support a 230lbs guy jumping on the top of the rack. AI tells me I should add structural support to the roof so that the XJ can support that
My rack regularly holds 500 pounds when the family is sleeping in the tent. Never had an issue. I’m 220 and wouldn’t have a problem jumping on it other than i might fall off my jeep 😂
Uhmmmm....you've got no heat shielding!! 😳 Probably vaporizing God only knows how much fuel....
lol most xjs don’t have the factory heat shielding anymore. I’ve never had a heat soak problem.
Just found ya, so know zero about your rigs. Building a XJ up for trail use currently here. What's your lift? What's the tire size? How much fender bashing did you have to do? 4 1/2 inch and 33's in progress here. Not sure if I need to slash and bash or not. Learning.
I always say one of the best upgrades I've done on my Jeep is adding a fridge. So nice!!!
Love the Skid plate, do you have any designs for a WJ? We have 2
