Thanks for mentioning the bypasses. I went up about 3 miles from the rock today and decided to head back and get an early start tomorrow instead. Today, I did China Dam and Tule homestead trails. The first few miles of back way seemed like cake in comparison. Also, I'm running a 2d JK. No lift, 32's. Lockers and 4:11 gears.
Back in 2020 when covid hit I was working for an offroad shop and the sales of sxs's sky rocketed and they where do the backway to crown king which has torn the trail up alot and then you got the ones turning around and come from the other direction causing alot of trafic jams , I don't know how many times me and friend almost collided with with them in our jeeps because they are flying around corners and down the trail
@@TheRightLine ah crap. thanks for the info. i made it to the top at 10:27 in my truck without issues, but had to turn around since it was late in the day. was thinking of going back and completing the trail, but i guess there's a truck blocking the bypass by the waterfall, so my long wheelbase would get stuck on the waterfall if i go over that. :(
I've got 35s on my 2 door JL and have had the same thoughts you got. Somedays I really want 37s, some days I'm perfectly content with 35s. 35s are really good on the 2 doors. That being said, I do plan to re-gear in the near future and plan to put enough gearing in there to turn 37s just in case, sometime down the road I decide to bump up. Good luck out there and ride safe.
When i went to 37s: Broke my last non chromoly axle Had to swap out for fender flares Replaced weak coil springs Slowed my accel a little I didn’t install spacers but have backspacing so rubs in front sometimes 37s look cool but i would not have done it in retrospect. I already regeared to 488 Had “three” chromolly axles Had back spaced rims 3.5” teraflex lift on a jk two door (2007 Rubi) On good side Helped a bit with clearance Looks cool Bragging rights…if that’s somethin’ Giod luck. Great video sir.
BWTCK is a fun all day adventure trail with at least 10 obstacles, great and varied scenery, and a destination payoff. You never know what you might encounter along the way on this trail and should be prepared for anything. It's not uncommon to encounter others who need help. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Tell Joe to keep his head on a swivel for Bigfoot. 🙂
Last time I took that trip it was in 1978 in a friends Dodge Polaris. Made it with no problems other than a flat. It looks like it has gotten a little rougher since then.
Good evening, your Tacoma will be fine until the large obstacle in the video that I had to bypass. There are two challenges after that, a v crack and the last creek crossing. Once you cross the creek after that, it'll be easier. You'll have plenty of obstacles to play on but the 3 I mentioned above are the most challenging. Don't go alone. I assume the Tacoma is 4x4?
damn, it looks a lot worse than i remember, back in the day we flew this route on quads back and forth with long burgers and beer break and be back by the trucks by 1pm
@TheRightLine I ran BW to CK about a month ago myself. I took the bypass because I do not have skid plates and was running the trail solo. I am curious do you have skid plates installed on this run?
LMFAO!!!! We have been to Crown King dozens of times times in a 2006 Honda Odyssey. We have also been on the exact same path with a ford rental truck. What a bunch of rookies! Imagine being proud of spending 10's of thousands to accomplish what a stock rental truck has easily done??!! LMFAO!!!

Oh I need to do china damn and the tule fort
Thank you for clearing your rocks. Some of us really appreciate that.
Oh, and Bigfoot is REAL baby!
👍👍 nothing wrong with stacking, just break it down when you're done. Thanks for watching.

I'm always afraid of having a collision with one
Great run and video, thanks
I love this trail. I used to ride this trail in the late 90's in my Wrangler. Makes me want to get another one.
It's a great Trail definitely gotten a little more difficult over the years though.
@@TheRightLine I bet.
can't you take the road above by the mine instead of going into the creek at 13:00?
The road is gone. It's been all torn up in the middle of the mining work there.

The road has been directed down into the creek until you pass the mining operations there.

Thank you! Yeah, I've thought about those things and still have 37's 😂. Jeep's done great with 35's thus far. Thank you for watching.

@Chad Curtis I'll keep my eyes out for him.

Hi Mike, I can't tell you how many times I've run that trail over the years and it's changed a ton. It's gotten tougher for sure.
The kid is right.... bigfoot is real! LOL
Ha ha ha, we joke about this all the time.
Bigfoot is real. He's on the Olympic peninsula in Washington state.
How do you think a tacoma with a 2 inch lift would do? Prombly have to take all the bypasses wich is fine with me.

@The Right Line yes it's 4x4 2 inch lift running 265 75 r16(31.6) in rock sliders and skid plates.
Should be fine. Just don't go alone.

My how things change. Thanks for watching.

Yes, full. I just don't like to beat up my Jeep.
I am a first timer is this a good rout.would like to go with a group.i live in flagstaff.
It's a great route but make sure to go with a group of friends. It's pretty remote though pretty heavily travelled.
By a set of 37s just for the trails and the 35s for the daily
Maybe just a set of 37's next time.

Oh that's funny. Thanks for watching.
The obstacles that you bypassed no longer has a bypass 🤣. The bypass got washed out. And the obstacle is way worse now.
Wow.
That miner will purposely throw boulders in the creek making it harder to pass. He will also yell and laugh at people that break or get stuck.
I haven't seen any of that behavior, I've never seen anyone there, but the area is a real mess and it's terrible cuz it will never be the same.
The difference between 35s and 37’s in real numbers, actual measurement, is less than an inch and a half. And not much weight difference either.
Right. Most are barely the advertised size anyways. That's one reason I go back and forth. Really worth the added expense, don't think so.
Depends on the tire, for sure.
no dont go 37s GO for 40s
Definitely not on Chewy. I can't afford 40's 🤣
