FLo Jo to me was the truth. Very unfortunate of her untimely passing however I can honestly say she gave excellent interviews very poise while doing so just like when she competes. An amazing era, amazing athletes. See some comments and arguing about illegal stuff. Some of the physical changes we saw during -80s -90s on various athletes were not completely clean. Obviously doped. No out of competition testing until the early 90s. The reason no-one can beat her time is that there’s still no drug better for women than exogenous testosterone - anabolic steroids. These remain detectable for a relatively long time in the system so no athlete in their right mind can risk taking these if they are regularly tested. There is still doping of course but there’s nothing available with the strength benefits of anabolics that can be risked with the hope of being clear before the tests. She was a stylish sprinter from the start but the anabolics are what gave her the strength to maximise her style. All sprinters at this level are talented so dream on anyone who thinks that her technique is what won this. The deltas at this level are nearly zero - everyone has good technique. An amazing era, amazing athletes. See some comments and arguing about illegal stuff. Some of the physical changes we saw during -80s -90s on various athletes were not completely clean. Because the enhancements were not refined enough 30-40 years ago, rough edges, so to speak, so it was hard to hide side effects.. That said, it's so much money involved so I guess no one really fights it for real. Ashford, a Lady. Always small, humble, well mannered and with a leg frequency out of this world

No drugs!
Obviously doped. No out of competition testing until the early 90s. The reason no-one can beat her time is that there’s still no drug better for women than exogenous testosterone - anabolic steroids. These remain detectable for a relatively long time in the system so no athlete in their right mind can risk taking these if they are regularly tested. There is still doping of course but there’s nothing available with the strength benefits of anabolics that can be risked with the hope of being clear before the tests.
She was a stylish sprinter from the start but the anabolics are what gave her the strength to maximise her style. All sprinters at this level are talented so dream on anyone who thinks that her technique is what won this. The deltas at this level are nearly zero - everyone has good technique.
She was wonderful to watch here and I’d love to say that she was clean - but she wasn’t and that’s reality. Jackie Joyner Kersee the same in the heptathlon. Another ridiculous ‘record’. I’m sorry she died young but she was a doper and that’s the truth
