    Angella Tayor developed her static nerve problem in training in the 82 off season training. She didn't perform well in the 83 season (especially after her great 82 season), she was expected to double at the world university games in 83, and should have hope to do better at the world championships in 83. But the static nerve (which is the biggest nerve in the body) problem plauge her for the rest of her career. She injured her left quad badly in her first round heat, here.

  • @ranhill
    @ranhill 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Allyson Felix, who came in 5th at the 2012 Olympics would have won this race @ 10.89, but Evelyn did go on to run 10.76 after this which would have gotten her silver at London 2012.

    I so disagree, in their rivalry.. Gohr has won 3 races of 15, one of those races was the final of the 83 WC in which Ashford pulled a hamstring (dnf), but that still counts as a defeat.That would be the last time see would beat Ashford. And all remaining races were won relatively easily by Ashford.

  • @shottut
    @shottut 14 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great run by Evleyn here and the rest of the field, except for the Canadian girls I thought AngellaTaylor would be the silver medalist here, but she injured herself in her heat and appartently suffered from a static nerve problem thoughout most of her career. But even Angela Bailey seemed a little off form here, good for Alice Brown and her silver, great sprinting ...

    Blistering speed! So fast her time after against Gohr would've won the 2015, and 2017 womens 100m World Championship title! I thought yall said athletes evolved?

    Yes, I'm aware of the conditions. I was talking about times, period. 10.98 is still a very good time. With this time, Ashford would have beat Felix for the US Track & Field National title, which she won in 11+ seconds.

      Evelyn pulled up injured in the first round of the 200 at the US trials and didn't qualify. Valerie Briscoe Hooks ran the 200/400 double. FloJo ran the 200/400 at the trials but didn't qualify at 400m.
