Gail Devers brought my attention to the sprinting ladies of the track. She was powerful! Then my mom told me about Evelyn Ashford and Flo-Jo...LOVE!! Marion sped her way into my heart (she trains one of my best friends, now), along with that Pocket Rocket, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce...WOOOO!! Then I saw Carmelita Jeter...I am STILL SMITTEN!! And then there is Allyson...so much grace and beauty!! Side note: These baton passes by the U.S. teams on both sides are comparable to horror films for me!! Goodness!!

She has quite a few championships. Just look her up when you have the chance, I think she is the fastest woman in 200m indoors. 8th fastest in 100m history.. She is a true champion.

Wow shout out to Inger Miller. That was not a good hand off from Gail to Inger, but Inger flew around that curve to give Gwen such a big lead. Gwen was plenty successful on her own but she was THAT GIRL in some relays. Both in the 100 and 400 sprint relays, she had another gear entirely.
I thought all the passes were bad for the US. Devers and Torrence were slow off the mark, Miller took off too soon. Definitely could have been a faster time

Damn Jamaica's third leg runner pulled a hamstring 5 meters before the changeover to Ottey which caused them to lose. Good run and Ottey had a strong finish to get the bronze. Amazing race..WOW....

From her surly comments and PED suspensions she just did not have the top end Speed to run with the Americans unless she was Juicing. Torrence ran her down in the 200m. To think she was in the Americans class is ignorant and comical. And this is accurate finish. U.S. first. Bahamia Second. Jamaica third. And Jamaica was lucky to get 3rd. That race is here on YT but with some other commentators who sounded dull and unexcited especially when Kim Graham passed the Nigerian runner. I remember Carol Lewis screaming with excitement and I would like to hear that again.

If you stop it at various checkpoints/markings at the beginning of the last leg and near the end, Ottey gained at least 1/10th of a second on Torrence. Mary Onyali also with a strong anchor for Nigeria.

I simply stating the facts, Ottey ran the best anchor followed by Onyali then Torrence. In a previous comment when someone talked about the messed up third exchange for JAM, you stated that that is the way the race played out and now you are talking about Torrence being in worse shape than at the trials. Jamaica's third runner was injured when she handed over to Merlene Ottey which set her back tremendously still she came third. If all was equal on that last change I have no doubt Jamaica would have won that goal. Strange how the commentators didn't even mentioned the injury but only focused on the win. The bias, hmmm.
I didn’t see her pull with any injury what happened? They were blessed with Ottey on the last leg she ran a stormer to get them the bronze
