Thank you for this video! I have suffered for years, going to every specialist under the sun including a chiro who told me my jaw was the problem. I went ahead with a minor jaw procedure a few months back and found absolutely no relief. I then discovered a knot in the base of my skull/ neck and that’s what led me to your videos. I’m convinced the pain I experience has something to do with the sub occipital area / muscles and I experience all the symptoms you have described. Going to do these exercises morning and evening to see how it goes! Thanks again for providing these exercises, as I was ready to cry with the pain!
Wow! You really just helped me. I’ve been dealing with chronic trapezius spasms and occipital tension. This just released my muscles and i feel infinitely better. Now i can do the exercises my PT taught me without being in excruciating pain. Thanks so much!
Thank you, have suffered for years …..Thank you for talking about the masseter release as well…..so many physios & therapists miss this….you captured it! Thanks! 🙏🌈
I am so tired from having this pain. I cannot even sleep with this pain. It’s more on my right side of the back side of my neck. It is just progressing into a storm. I don’t know what more I can do. I am going to get a tennis ball tomorrow.
I would like to know the same! The doctors cut the shit out of my head back there. They said I had Occipital Neuralgia ( which is possible ) BUT I still can’t work like I used to could, I can’t exercise like I used to etc etc - I get through half a day of kinda hard warehouse work and it feels like I’ve been hit in the back of my head with a pipe. I then have to go home, lay down take pain pills, apply heat pad etc !!! I’m done for the day. I can’t continue like this
@@zeburosy3175 I am kind of the same. Not worse but not better. Starting physical therapy for Occipital Neuralgia , also curious if it is cervicogenic headaches? I’ve been diagnosed with ON but I’m curious if it is Cervicogenic headaches ( which are very similar )
I'm wondering if that muscle can cause blood flow issues? I've had pain there for years, it includes my shoulder, down my left side of my back and pain in my left side peck. Recently, whenever my blood pressure rises, I get a pounding headache stemming from the base of my skull on the same side as all the pain.
I go to chiro He cracks my neck it goes away after about three visits......I was diagnosed with clusters but I think it's this causing them. Wicked evil.pain wakes you from sleep over and over. Also a Casper pillow or a roll pillow that' has a back to it.
Great video mate. How often can we do this? I've been suffering with a tension head ache into the back of my head around to my eyes for around two weeks. It's really making me feel odd at times. Think it's cus it's on my mind all the time (excuse the pun)
Thanks 🙏 You don't want to do this too often, you run the risk of bruising the soft tissue, which will cause discomfort on its own. Definitely get checked by a Chiropractor, we work wonders with headaches and migraine sufferers!
@@ChiroCarl Hi Carl. So how many times a day and for how long? I did it three times a day over a two week period, and whilst I got good initial relief for a week or so, I’ve now got pain that is much worse than before.
Ive been dealing with pressure behind my eye and left side of my head from a fall. I tried what youre recommending with a tennis ball and it made my symptoms 10 times worse. I havent done it since and I still feel awful months out. What could that mean?
@@ChiroCarl okay wait. I tried it again last night and this morning I woke up feeling better than I have in months. Ill try it again. Its been a year and no doctor could figure out what was going on with me. I think we might be onto something doc!
Carl, Cassie is devastated that you left Bracknell. She can’t believed you abandoned her. She’s always complaining that she needs your magic. Please come back.
Ah i miss you guys! But i definitely dont miss working for that company. If you're ever on the south coast near Chichester reach out and ill fix her right up 👌
My right side occipital area is usually tight and painful, if I let it go too long I get nausea, off balance feeling………..even certain sharp sounds will make my eyes dizzy. So I’ve been working on that crap for a couple years, my chiropractor was doing an occipital lift adjustment but that doesn’t seem to help now. Doing the snag technique with a dish towel, and some other hand presses against my head helped for awhile. Lately it’s harder to get in check. I never saw the jaw muscles mentioned. When I feel around that jaw area, I always feel what I thought were sensitive nerves, is that just my muscle being tense? Is that wht I want to loosen up?
This definitely helps more than anything else I've tried. Thank you so much!

I got a pain in that area all of a sudden and it really freaked me out, as I had never got such pain before. Thank you for this valuable video! 😊
Anybody has long-term solutions for suboccipital muscle tension?
Thank you sir for this great informative vid. New sub. Will try to do these release exercises. God bless you abundantly.

I have horrible tmjd and suboccipital pain. This helped. Thank you!
You're very welcome ♥️
In my experience, releasing it makes it worse. Strengthen and lengthen with long neck posture and you’ll get better. At least that’s what I did.
Can you officially say you’re cured now?
Yes are you cured now??

Where is the other video you mentioned?

this is an ongoing issue for me, suboccipital tightness and jaw tightness on one side. What is the solution for this?
Great video thankyou . I’ve been suffering from head tremors due to severe tension in this area . Can you recommend anything at all to help me?
You need to see a chiropractor for a face to face assessment. 👍
oohh good heavens thank you... tennisball now my new best friend
🎾 works so well!
Doesn’t this one make your jaw come apart? It does mine, and makes my jaw pop. What should I do about that?

Not in the USA, but I know many other suppliers often offer discounts on these products.

Oooooooh baby, give it to me!!! 😍
👍🏻 works really well 👍🏻 f.y.i I stick my peanut & balls in a sock for this so the rubber doesn’t rip my hair out (😬 I should probably re-phrase that).
Haha, definitely needs rephrasing, but i am so glad you have found a way to maximize the peanut!
I was about to ask what to do if you have long hair. I never thought of wrapping it in a sock! Excited to see if it works for me.
lol thanks
