Think that weight difference is important enough?

I never cut my toothbrush handle off, so I guess not. Just cursed a lot more than usual the first 2 days out on the trail.

I'm glad you spent some time talking about entrapped limbs, particularly in car accidents, which is probably the one place civilians are most likely to encounter a life-threatening traumatic injury. I follow several trauma medicine channels on TH-cam, and this is something that just doesn't get discussed very much at all. Even though everyone mentions the fact that a shooting is not the only situation for which such training and equipment is important, once they go back to talking about equipment and technique they pretty much focus on gunshot wound treatment, or just generic bleeding wounds.
But this aspect of traumatic injury is why I don't ever consider an elastic T, and especially the RATS, as a good primary tourniquet. Elastic Ts are difficult to apply to an entrapped limb, especially a leg on a patient in a car seat, and it's virtually impossible to do it one handed. The next time someone tries to show off how fast they can self-apply a RATS to their arm, ask them to do it again with their hand in their pocket. This is actually the one instance where tourniquets like the CAT and the SAM-XT really outshine all the others (sorry, even the SOF-T, which I do really like), because their single-pass buckle can be threaded one-handed to get them around an entrapped limb, whereas most other designs are either very difficult or even impossible.

Great notes. I agree, one handed application gets much more difficult when a limb is trapped. Ill look at doing an updated video in the future.

I like the sof-t for its quick release. Like Brian says, it takes just a little practice (I like to do open- and then closed-eye) to get the hang of applying it quickly.

Nice man! The SOF T Wide is my edc. I mostly have Recons (I trust them completely and it's too bad you can't work with them), but I plan on getting more SOF TQs. When I do, I'll definitely order from you.

I just bought a Recon. I'm planning on a review soon.

@@MountainManMedical Awesome! I can't wait to hear your review. Especially if you got the gen 4, or whatever the newer one. Keeping all these generations in my head is impossible.

Use Brian's $5 off this weekend to get out.

@@motzoh Thanks for the heads up. I would, but unfortunately my father just died after receiving his second vaccine dose. So, dealing with that. I have like 6 TQs so I'm just getting a surplus at this point for preparedness sake. Good looking out though. I appreciate it.

i guess meant down graded to plastic?

"upgraded to plastic". Oxymoron if I ever heard one!

I wouldn't trust it as much as the previous generation. The other one worked fine and I didn't have to worry about it snapping while sitting in my backpack (which I treat roughly) at -40F. What about arctic warfare?
