Thanks for this tutorial. I am following along using UE 5.4.3 and there are a few subtle differences. Just sharing what I've found in case anyone else following along may have difficulty due to it not being the same version of 5.4.
1) 19:20 - drag and search for "make vector" then connect the value to add impulse

You may be an expert at unreal but when using recording software set the capture res to your desktop and have it convert it down to 1080p and also set the bitrate higher. Im watching this at 1080p and can barely read the text. or set the desktop to 1920x1080 and record as that, that should actually be better, supposedly.

After I gave my cube a forward impulse when I hit play a second cube spawns in front of my player cube. how do i stop the second cube from spawning?
How would you do movement left and right with touch controls?
Im not sure if anyone else is having this problem but I can't seem to get the scoretext to show up as a variable? I've made sure it's checked multiple times and have also tried redoing the steps but so far I can't seem to figure out the issue
whenever i started designing the level, for some reason when i play now im not spawning as the cube, i have auto posses player on player 0, what do i do
Advanced Session doesnt work anymore. Something is different in 5.4 with AS Plugin. Does someone knows what i have to Change?

Very detailed tutorial. For me, the speed of you doing everything was too fast. The 1 hour video took me 3 hours to do the tutorial with all the steps.

when i use the input action left and right it only works with other keep binds like "mouse right, and mouse left cick" but it doesnt work with the arrow keys. do you have any idea why? thanks for the amazing video btw.
Having the same issue here, tried left/right on keyboard and A/D on keyboard to no avail. Changing to left and right mouse button does work, however.
A silly mistake I was doing was to not click on the game window to be selected (after start), so the keyboard wasn't working

The official version 5.4 has been released, but the multi-layered effect of the motion design material designer cannot be saved. After saving the model generated by SVG, the software will close and the axis center position will automatically deviate when opened, and other bugs have not been resolved...

Just to be clear when you imported a new font, it was called Online Market and in fact was not showing up when you selected the dropdown of the fonts on the ScoreText. The font you were hovering over when you said the new font should now be there is DroidSansMono which is a default UE font. I went through the same steps and could not get the font I downloaded to show up.

@@UnrealUniversity Just spotted this too, looks like if you select "Yes" to that prompt when importing the Font file into your project, it then appears
however i don't know if that would have any ramifications :')

I want to make a FNAF fan game called Digital Nights At Glitchy's the game follows a in universe game that actually traps you in and you must find a way it is unique compared to other FNAF fan game in that it is a free roam game it has cinematic cutscenes the jump scare animations show the animatronics actually attacking you there are mini games that are 3D and in the game's menu there is a mode to toggle between free roam mode (basically FNAF SB) and point and click mode (basically the first 6 FNAF games) its basically FNAF SB but much scarier and minior things the game begins with a warning screen than when you click the "play" button than the opening logo for Ghostly Haunted Games (my horror game company that will publish the game) plays than the main menu but the thing is even though i have Unreal Engine 5.4 i dont really know how to create those controls I'm planning to have so can someone help me
Nah idk for me it just spins my camera at 11:00 as soon as it touches the ground.
Nvm. its bc I used a sphere and didnt change some camera settings, maybe I should just go with the tutorial lmao.
Does anyone know about the SDK Error after attempting to Package game? I never tried to Package my projects before and now I'm getting this error that SDK was not properly installed!
there are a few videos on youtube that show how to solve this, you just have to download a couple things related to a new SDK and move some things around in the UE5 directory and you should be good to go

yeah I can't find it but I found this form : dev.epicgames.com/documentation/en-us/unreal-engine/motion-matching-in-unreal-engine I am going to get and retarget some animations and make a tutorial with animations people can download later this week

after hitting play, click inside the editor to bring it into focus. You should see the logs with the inputs as shown around 18:20

The best tutorial for Unreal 5.4 is a cube that moves rom side to side? No offense but having at least the 3D mannequin running, which is sort of built in would have been better.
I get you but I wanted to make a game from complete scratch that way you learn everything, maybe next time I will make a 3rd person project

All the Developers are afraid to use URE 5. It takes them years just to make a simple game, and when they do the game/map is so small you can beat the game in just a couple hours. Plus they charge an arm and leg for the game not to mention your first born. Unity developers can make a game in hours.
