There can be no better endorsement of our beloved show than for the release of a sixty years old collection of its stories to reach the number one spot! Many thanks, JT and Bedwyr, for another typically uplifting hour! All the best for now. Paul
Thanks for another cosy and uplifting Jedwyr show. You've really got your Christmas made now JT; what with Series 2 Who, Blake's 1 and The Box of Delights! Great Tee Bedwyr. ❤
Update on Standard Boxset releases after Season 2 is released on 2nd December 2024 Season 9 estimated for Jul 2025 is now Mar 2025 Season 20 estimated for Dec 2025 is now Sept 2025 Season 15 estimated for Jul 2026 is now Mar 2026 Season 25 estimated Dec 2026 is now Oct 2026 This brings releases back into line with the 2 year gap I don't understand why there is a 2 year gap between Limited & Standard versions now anyway? Anyone that brought the Limited Editions wil still buy those for continuity of display. It would make sense to release both versions at the same time now as it's basically the same set that is released internationally anyway.
Grabbed a couple of Dr. Who items from B&M this week. 'Emperor Davros' and 'Resurrection of the Daleks' packs, couldn't see the 'Deadly Assassin' pack which was a shame but as Meatloaf sang two out of three ain't bad. Think I my need to have a rewatch of Season 2.
It's like 2 boxsets in 1. Matthew Sweet's interview with William Russell is intelligent and intimate. It's like watching PARKINSON with one guest. Agree the David Whitaker doc is a highlight. I discovered he married on the same day as my parents. I think Dennis Spooner gets overlooked. He introduced another member of the Doctor's race, pseudo-history & humour. In my opinion, the Doctor became more than 1 in 4 travellers but 1st among equals in S2. Shame he didn't stay on as Script Editor to rein John Wiles in. Spooner returned uncredited to work on the 1st regeneration. Love the season overview docs. There's a great one on S3 elsewhere.
I don't mind colourisation as a bonus feature, but I don't want it if they mutilate the story by cutting it to ribbons, if you're going to colourise it, then do the complete episodes and not chop it all up

My Pre-order is in woohoo, think we will always be 2 years behind on these, I'll probably die of old age before the entire collection is released
I know what you mean -come on BBC Studios - get a move on!

If they are going to colourise episodes they should do the same as my Laurel & Hardy boxset and simply offer both b&w and colour versions.
