Current era Doctor Who continues to compete with other once great franchises in the ultimate race to the bottom; let's just wave it a pre-emptive, hearty goodbye. Many thanks, JT, Paul and Ian. All the best for now. Paul
Let's all rejoice in the fact that it seems incredibly likely the current incarnation of the show is heading to cancellation in a storm of infighting and confusion 🎉
I keep missing the show live but thanks for the shout out. Loved Paul's chuckle as you read my username out. As the 4th Doctor said 'what's the point in being a grownup if you cannot be childish sometimes'. I'm paraphrasing of course but as a fan who started watching during Jon Pertwee's era I have tried to live by this. I will make more of an effort to catch you guys live as I am enjoying the lively discussions.
Last comment. To be honest the writing has been on the wall for a while and whilst I see a lot of good, even during Chibbers era, there I said it, there's not enough awareness of what fans want to save the show. It needs a break not endless reboots. The BBC should retire it from our screens. Push plenty of merch, graphic novels and DVD/Bluray releases to keep fans engaged and then reboot it properly 1-2 years down the line without Disney.
They've forgotten that Dr. Who shouldn't rely on the money but on the imagination of the makers of the show. That's one reason why Classic Who is superior. Something modern Who has done is smooth the rough edges of the show off. Unfortunately it's in all the rough edges that a lot of the best ideas came from.
I thought the Whittaker Tardis looked bad, but the current one is bad for different reasons, it's a souless, Tardis by numbers set. My favourite Console room's were the original, the Secondary console room, the TV movie and the Smith/Capaldi version.
I fear the Beeb is covering it's tracks regarding the Gatwa comment. I think he's finished as rthe Doctor, and I'm really doubtful about a Series 3 and beyond. The realky scandalous thing is, the guy responsible for this mess, RTD is going to remain in post. He hired Gatwa, he made all the decisions regarding the show. If this was a business or a Government Minister, he'd be long gone.
It doesn't need a massive budget! It managed great stories for 26 years without a big budget and this current series didn't look any better for the extra money! I believe Davies blew a lot of it on the ridiculous Scoobytekh!

Thanks for another great show JT and gang. It's quite a wake now we've grieved. 🎉
An ongoing one!
@@WhosViews Yes it does feel like that. It's great that we can all come together and share stories; one good thing about You Tube.
Great show guys. Where's Michael Grade when you actually need him?
Hope Dr Who & The Scorpion gets turned into an adult parody - it's not too late! 🙏
I think it’s the clear winner in the race to the bottom.

I'm also a firm believer that model work in a lot of cases looks better than CGI.
I remember Jon Pertwee in an interview say the idea was "let's see what we can do for a shilling" - happy days, sigh
Imagine what he'd have to say today. ANd the backlash he'd get too.
@@WhosViews He wouldn't care
@@moiragoddard592 True. But he'd still have a lot to say about it LOL
@@WhosViews would have loved to hear it too 😄
Great show. Many thanks, JT, Ian and Paul.
It's a tough choice, but I'd like to see you review The Romans, please.
I agree about the end of series stories, I always thought Davies used big special effects to cover up the defiencies in his scripts.

JT, can you send me a link to where I can buy that discounted Gatwa merchandise? Only joking lol. Who would want to own that tat?
Even at the discounted prices it doesn't sound like anyone is interested!
"no actor was fired while show was off the air"
.......lets ask Colin Baker that one 🙄
Still no sign of the Daleks or Davros figures at any on my local B&Ms
Updated - my local B&M just got 12x Dalek sets in, but no sign of Davros as yet
Dalek Set priced at £21.99
