the gems in the room yellow & blue were singing in were rose quartzes!!!! thats why they bubbled them and put them there, as punishment for what 1 rose quartz did :))

Amethysts, Jaspers, Agates, and Quartzes are part of the Quartz line of Gems. They are the military branch of Gem culture, mainly guards.
The Diamonds are family.
The 4 of them are sisters, so blue,yellow, and white are Steven's aunts
i'm a little sad that not many people seem to enjoy Yellow's song, it's one of my favorites. i'm glad you still appreciated the double meaning of the lyrics, though! the diamonds are designed to be like a brain, Yellow being left (focused on logic) and Blue being right (focused on emotion). having left and right brain conversations with my mom a lot of my life this added an extra layer of appreciation to it for me.

@jojo-xk8ri what? The id is the animal instinct. None of the diamonds fit this. They are all following laws made by the superego, but they are not satisfying the needs of the id as well so they are not representations of the ego.
Pink is the closest to being an id but there is still no representation of the ego here.
The word you're forgetting is "elitist". The high class gems(diamonds,agates,peridots...) are elitists and every other gem class below them(rubies,pearls,any quartz soldiers...) are considered to be less of a being. But their behaviour can
be a metaphor for racism and homophobia.
Blue diamond does not remember ruby and sapphire because they mean nothing to her.
Last part isn't true, she recognizes them a few episodes later, she probably didnt remember in that moment because it's literally been nearly 6 thousand years since Garnet formed.

When he mentioned the episode everyone is telling him he should skip, I immediately knew which one it was.( Rocknaldo)
I thought it was Tiget Philanthropist but then I searched it up and realised it was Rocknaldo. Tbh, that episode was kinda annoying because of Ronaldo.

So many nerds butthurt about seeing themselves portrayed accurately in the show. Ronaldo would ALSO be on Discord telling people to not watch it
The gem species are basically just "parasites"(even amethyst refered to herself as parasite in the episode that introduced the kindergartens) for planets and earth was just going to be another one of those planets until the rebellion started. That opens the posibilitty for other rebellions in other planets but none of them made a difference like rose quartz did when she protected earth.
You remember the murals/drawings of the diamonds on the moon base? In these murals you can see orbs around each diamond, representing how many planets they each have conquered and if i'm not mistaken pink has only two orbs(earth and the moon)

Blue Diamond is trying to preserve the Earth's specimens in the zoo because she's still grieving and that's her way of remembering Pink, that's basically all she has left of Pink. I'm pretty sure it was said in the episode while Blue and Yellow were talking to each other.

Fun fact! The Diamonds are voiced by Broadway actresses, which is why the song is a lot more like, a broadway song than the other songs in the show
The episode rocknaldo(the one you've been told not to watch) has nothing wrong with it. It just made people mad when it was realeased.
Before the release of the episode, cartoon network made a post(wich was rare) that made people excited for the episode (even raising some theories) but it ended up being something completely different.
I wasn't around for that because I only caught up in season 5, but I hated Rocknaldo all the same. I don't agree with skipping any episodes though, definitely not when you're watching a show for the first time, and definitely not during a reaction. I don't know why people tell reactors to skip episodes. I just hate the way Ronaldo acts in the episode, and that Steven puts up with it for so long.

You don’t need to be the same gem to have the same weapon.
Though, oddly enough to have a whip is considered rare in general, and is used to keep quarts in line.
I love how he immediately called Peridot wanting to be Garnet; it shows how much Scoot pays attention to the personalities of the characters and how they'll act in certain scenarios

I wish he talked about the part when Connie says it must be hard for a kid like Steven to fix the emotional problems of super powerfuls magical stones
The term filler comes from anime arcs that weren't part of the Manga so it wouldn't really apply to other genres. You could more accurately call it a subplot episode I think. Or maybe a substory.

Pearl with that HUGE W in That Will Be All. The second episode is another really fun filler episode. I don't mind the filler when it's fun like this and Last One Out of Beach City, but the one you said discord said to skip... yeahhhh it's down there as of of the worst episodes for sure

Our Amethyst is an anomaly. She shouldn’t have a whip as a weapon, yet she does. Even bismuth remarked on it being out of place when they were in the forge.
imo it could be symbolism that Amethyst was made/is a lot stronger, mentally and physically, than she thinks she is
8:37 Just to clarify, the cluster wasn't JUST to destroy the earth, the cluster is a geo-weapon made in an attempt to make a gigantic, mindless fusion. It was going to destroy the earth just from taking form, and it would be way bigger than the earth. And now they had what would have essentially been a gigantic gem bigger than worlds to conquer MORE worlds. Destroying earth and ending the rest of the Crystal Gems + ending Blue's mourning was just killing two birds with one stone.

Also fun fact the second episode you watched is a small reference to the homeworld gems meme, it was a pretty big meme during season 2 where people would imagine if steven was raised by peridot lapis and jasper instead (there was even an entire animated short and multiple animated openings parodying the idea) although the more popular roles were lapis being pearl, jasper being garnet, and peridot being amethyst, though i have seen lapis being the amethyst in some variations

Steven universe has a lot of filler episodes, but because the show has taken the time for us to get to know the people the filler episodes are about they never really feel like filler.
That and they always have good vibes and rarely take themselves super seriously.

While it is true that Agates, Roses, Amethysts, and Jaspers are all categorized as "Quartzes," it is not the case that gems of the exact same type have the same weapon. One Ruby might have a gauntlet, while another Ruby has a dagger. Didn't Bismuth comment that Amethyst's whip is unusual? So I think weapons are as personal as the body position of the gem stone.

Quick thing the song in this episodes depicts the diamonds as greiving and well there doing it in 2 different ways yellow wants the earth gone because it is part of pinks colleny and reminds her of it whilst blue is gayhering humans because she wants to keep pinks "legacy"

What they meant by don't watch it it's cuz it's a Ronaldo episode, it's called "rocknaldo" and it's a lot filler and it's "Ronaldo" which I don't like either, so I wouldn't mind if you won't watch it.

Blue & Yellow Diamond's voice actresses are actually musicians - Yellow is voiced by legendary broadway diva icon goddess Patti LuPone & Blue is voiced by Lisa Hannigan, an Irish folk musician (check out her albums if you want chill folk vibes, they are immaculate).
Also, the only episode I would ever even remotely recommend skipping would be the Uncle Grandpa crossover because it contributed practically nothing to the overall story. People just don't like Ronaldo but don't let that influence your watch-through, there are still important pieces of information even in the 'filler' episodes.
I wouldn’t call the Connie episode “fillerish” I think it more of as an epilogue for the little arc that had happened.
I think you mean prologue, but I think it would be more accurate to call it a subplot considering that it wasn't directly related to the main plot but rather a separate set of events that happened simultaneously.

Yoooo flashback first time watching wise, we were so in sync. For ep 14. I really liked the song but all my friends were like meh. And good catch on the lyrical innuendo, I honestly didn't catch that my first time. But after I had that idea my head it made me come up with a theory that YD and BD were like two grieving family members, or at least someone close to them passed (the crystal gems explained they don't really have a concept like family) . YD is the one who would want to move out the house and never look back And BD is the one who would might make a permanent memorial somewhere in the house, from time to time muttering things like "Oh I remember when X use to be here." "Oh X loved this" or at least thats the vibe I remembered having on this episode.
Side note, if hair is too... erect? You're not about that life? 😂😂(I'm kidding)
But with the song, as someone with a music background (plus older parents with certain music preferences, and one who also has a musical background) I have alot of respect for Broadway. So once I realized YD's voice actor was a Broadway singer I instantaneously fell in love regardless of what side she'd end on. 4:25 And shameless replay button for that face you made 💀And to be honest while I Loved the song, that Pearl intro, I honestly did have to get use to.
Just seeing Amethyst with the Famethyst and you enjoying that Im happy, it was totally worth the watch. And also it looks like the episode they were saying dont watch is a Renaldo ep, I mean the name is a Rocknaldo so I dont think thats a spoiler. But as someone who always tried to force my friends into not skipping his episodes, I really can't remember if he touched on anything that we didn't really know. 🤔 Its been a minute but if you do end up skipping through it🤔Guess I'll take one for the team. Because man, while he gave things weird names like "Sneple" at first Renaldo was always right and we didn't have the slightest clue until hindsight.
And looooool lets go! That Pearl support tho when they tried to Pumpkin her lol. Im so glad to see that she's grown on you. But so be fair, later seasons Pearl is way better than Season 1/2 Pearl.
