      I have a question
      I have had my acl completely torn 7 months ago.
      I trained hard got my strenght back in the leg and my balance i also can fully extend my leg but the problem is i can’t make a deep squat it hurts normal squat are fine and when schooting a low take down i cant because i cant land with my weight on that knee because it hurts basicly cant sit on that knee at all in my stand up i don.t have issues but everything grapeling related im limited i cant get the range of motion my heel to my butt it’s painfull and because if this i can’t squat low or land on the knee when shooting takedown. It’s also painful when im in my oponnent guard because i basicly cant ‘t sit on my knee what can i do to improve please help

      I would suggest putting slow steady pressure trying to get your heel to your but, a little bit each day. As soon as it hurts a little back off. Do this gradually over a few months. At the same time drink turmeric tea for inflammation and do massage. Sometimes use ice onbit and some times hot showers. It's also possible you may need to avoid grappling until you get the range of motion back. That's what worked for me in the past when i was faced with the same issue.

    Going into my third month with a partial ACL tear on my right knee. Doing physical therapy but it’s been a frustrating process. Just feels like I’m taking three steps forward and two steps back. All I see is videos about long recovery periods and surgical fixes. This is a nice change, to see you’re still doing what you love

      Elizabeth - my injuries are pretty much the same as yours... I too opted the no surgery route for the same reasons plus the fact that surgery in the area leads to arthritis more quickly. Though I opted for no surgery I had no plan :( Found this video super inspiring. Good luck with your recovery.

    Thanks for the video. I also had a complete tear from a judo randori session. I did not get the surgery but did do all of the rehab you mentioned and some other exercises. However, it’s been 15 years and I’m about 70%. Can’t get on the mat for more than 15 minutes. The minute I push the knee, it starts buckling. I did not know about the herbs, maybe that made the difference for you. I’m going to try them. Thank you very much.

    have you done an MRI recently? I read a study where people (competitive athletes) couldn't do surgery for one reason or another, after 2 years their(15 ppl if I'm not wrong) MRI showed fully connected ACL, most of them tore it completely.
    I tore it 8.5 years ago. Didn't get surgery and was fine with everything. I twisted my knee again last month and completely tore it again.

    Thank you for the video, I had in my right knee for which I had the surgery. I suffered a lot during the rehab it took me a year to be able to run again. Later when I became better I started to play soccer again. Few years later I torn my left ACL. I decided to quit soccer and rehab my knee with the way you just described and it worked but I just replaced soccer with running. Months ago, my knee started to have effusion and I had to rehab it again and go through the process and I’m still doing it. It takes a lot of patience but it’s doable.

    I had an ACL tear on 2nd June 2018, Then I use to play for an amateur team . But since then I have not been on the pitch, when I even try to jog, it feelings as if my knee is going to pull apart.. Over time I have added extra 10kg because of my inactive life in sports.
    I have aggravated it three times.. the last time, after an MRI scan, the orthopedic surgeon said I would go in for surgery but I opted to work with a physiotherapist, the pains are gone but most times if I mistakenly twist my right knee, I feel cracks inside and it's as if my knee wants to pull apart. I want to know if there are chances of redeeming my knee ligament back and going back football. Someone said I need to stop having sex before it will heal properly. How true is it ?

    I fully tore my ACL earlier this year. I've been on a waiting list for surgery but all surgery in my country (Australia) is postponed because COVID. So at the moment I don't know if I'm ever going to be able to get surgery until this pandemic is over. I train Karate, Judo and FMA. I'm actually jogging again, and I can do kata which to be honest has actually helped strengthen my legs and make me move with proper form!
    It hurts if I try to roundhouse kick with the injured leg on impact, were you able to build yourself up to be able to roundhouse kick with full power? And how about balancing/pivoting on the injured leg while kicking with the other leg?

    • @IzzaMMA-Malaysia
      @IzzaMMA-Malaysia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It took a while for me to be able to kick with full power again. I am not comfortable with high kicks while pivoting on the injured knee. Especially if someone catches the kick and I have to balance on the injured leg, very dangerous. So Now I do head kicks with my left leg only and do low kick with both the right and left. But honestly I thought at one point I could never kick with my right leg again so even this is awesome for me.

I’m into powerlifting and my doc told me that my knee is pretty stable and that I should be fine without surgery. I love being active and playing basketball and soccer but surgery is pretty pricey. What would y’all recommend me to do?

      If it's a partial tear you could try the supplements, keeping the leg muscles strong, making sure the area gets good circulation and wearing a brace during training. If it's a full year you should still do all that but you will need to be more careful and patient regarding sports and training etc...

    Is it possible that I teared a cruciate ligament without really noticing it? A year ago, my back of the knee hurt suddenly when I jumped up (linear, but absolutely not warm) and directly when I landed, but besides a minor discomfort maye for a few days, nothing happened. No bruise, no swelling (as far as I was able to notice) etc. And I haven't noticed the unstableness (I haven't looked for it, but just doing everyday life, I didn't notice it). Is this something to worry about regarding a more serious injury? Have you heard of other people with similar situations like this? Or are there muscels and fascia involved, which I might have confound?

    • @IzzaMMA-Malaysia
      @IzzaMMA-Malaysia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like it could have been a partial tear but also could be a whole bunch of other stuff. If you are concerned about it you could get an MRI to see what's going on in there. Until then you could warm up better and a knee brace may also help.

    I had one question though .
    During this period of rehab( without operation) what things to consider toavoid further damage of knee. Like i have an Acl tear and i feel like doing everything , what should i avoid like i avoid twisting turning of knee and dont do full squats and all exercises involving full knee bend. How much to exert etc. Kindly guide relating this when u have time

    • @IzzaMMA-Malaysia
      @IzzaMMA-Malaysia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wa alaykumus salaam wa rahmatulaah. Basically any movement you do should not be so intense that it causes severe pain or any swelling. The motions that make your knee feel vulnerable should be done. But they should be done slowly with low intensity. You gradually increase intensity over along period of time. Hope that helps. This is such an inspirational and informational video, thanks a lot. I got a surgery 5 years ago and got another injury again after that, don't want to make another one since there is no guarantee it will help long term and it won't happen again. Every surgery is like another injury, it's a lot of stress for the body. I'm considering rehabilitating the natural way now and your tips are so useful. From my experience rehab is more important than a surgery, you need to rehab a lot and continue over the course of your life, with or without a surgery.
    Question on the supplements, how do you intake them, is it a regular thing you do over the 10 years or you use them time to time? Would you recommend to intake them all at the same time or separately? Thanks upfront.

    • @IzzaMMA-Malaysia
      @IzzaMMA-Malaysia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for sharing your insight as well as your kind words and encouragement. I would like to try the surgery but unless the doctor is extremely skilled I wouldn't take the chance. In regards to the supplements unfortunately I have mostly only taken them whenever I re-injur my knee, I would imagine if I would take them regularly it would be better. In regards to mixing them, as long as there are drug interaction warnings on the label I think its mostly ok. Hope that helps.

      @@YuriyYunikov in 10 years I hurt it probably around 5 or 6 times with 2 of them being somewhat serious. It almost always happens when I am doing a sport or movement that I don't normally do. @@IzzaMMA-Malaysia Ok, pretty much the same that happened with me. I decided to go to surgery after 5-6 re-injuries during the course of 5 years as well and it helped for another 5 years (without active sport where there is a knee pivoting), now got re-injured again after a long rest (as you said) and trying to rehab naturally, but if it will keep happening, it would probably require another one. Bad thing about re-injuries is that they help knee arthritis to evolve over time because cartilaginous tissue is becoming thinner.
      Overall, wish you good luck and not to get re-injured!

    Thankyou for this video, its very inspirational.
    My acl is completely torn in a motorcycle accident about 10 years ago. In my current situation, its not the sport performance that become the problem. I play badminton regulary 2 times a week, and i can still do quick manuver and jump to cover the entire court, and i'm confident that my agility is still above average of sportsmen my age. I can do that because of the support muscles strengthening exercises that i do every day. The exercises pretty much are the same as shown in this video. You can find tons of these exercises on youtube.
    My biggest problem is actually the situation i always have the day after badminton. My knee will swell because of effusion, and it took 3-4 days for it to back to normal. And when its finally back to normal its already badminton day again. When my knee is swelling, it really bother my daily activity. And the thruth is i'm very concern of the long term implication if I keep having the same situation.
    Frankly said I know that I probably should give up badminton and find another more knee friendly sport, but currently its something thats really hard for me to do.

    • @IzzaMMA-Malaysia
      @IzzaMMA-Malaysia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also have a similar situation. If I do long hikes or anything leg intensive for prolonged periods the knee swells up. Lately I have been icing it down immediately after strenuous exercise and not waiting until after it swells. Some MMA fighters regularly use ice baths right after training. In this case you could try an ice bath for the leg only every time you finish badminton. You can find videos online about the benefits of ice baths for healing and recovery. Hope that helps. Take care.

    • @IzzaMMA-Malaysia
      @IzzaMMA-Malaysia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
