If anyone struggling sees this, get the puppet axe and use the chef's knife handle with a technique build. You'll do more dmg than anything in the game in terms of dps and fable arts. Having played advanced builds, motivity builds and technique builds with multiple maxed weapons through Ng+, nothing comes close. Only issue is the lack of range, but you attack super fast and a full fable art can cut boss HP by HALF or more in one move... (with 30+ technique). You can also run it with motivity builds, but trust me this weapon is truly OP if you put it on a fast handle. Even the golden lie and the secret boss weapon struggle to catch up. Yes noblesse oblige can do the most dmg with its fable art, buuut it uses ergo to do so. Once again, if you're struggling or want to really feel OP in every single fight, it's hard to beat the puppet axe with a quick handle.
Hmm that sounds fun! Maybe NG++ though cus it also sounds OP AF, LOL. This from the dude running the circular electric chainsaw (why dis get no love?) and salamanders dagger blade on the acidic spear hilt.
@@Bearyboo87 salamander was my go to with acidic glaive handle in my first playthrough. I loved this thing to death. I also loved the the electric chainsaw and blade cutter fire sword thingy. In Ng+2 onwards bosses have so much HP and you barely do more dmg past a certain threshold, so you'll want every bit of extra dmg.
Just a tip people didn't figure out yet, each handle is built to compliment the head, you can mix and match all weapons that can be disassembled but make note of the attack style of the handle, it shows 'stab' and 'slash' as weapon heads do, so in essence it shows which weapon heads it's best suited for. For instance you have 2 slash weapons with the same stats, yet one does more damage than the other, it might be because one of them is a slash handle with a stab head and the other one is a slash handle with a slash head :)
My favorite has been Puppet Ripper. The range of the charged R2 combined with a 360 degree radius is super strong, and both fable arts are awesome. Used it exclusively through first and second playthroughs. Tried going to some advance scaling weapons in third playthrough, but none of those were as good as Puppet Ripper.
A fellow Chad Scythe enjoyer! I absolutely ADORE Puppet Ripper! It never let me down through 2 playthroughs, and it's just been so cool not only getting to use a Scythe that's good, but one with added range. I love Scythes in every game that allows them. Even if they end up not being the best weapons, to me, they are the best!
Oh and For those who wonder why you should Get Frozen feast if it wasn’t mentioned since I skimmed the video a bit, the weapon helps with a later quest with decrypting a certain quest item you'll get... helps with getting a Quartz for P-Organ upgrades, so getting the Greatsword and using it while talking with a Certain Merchant looking NPC will help... forgot if you can buy stuff or not from them though...
Yep, in ng ++ and it deletes normal enemies in one shot and takes out mini bosses with ease because it has so much stagger. Extreme mod amulet and arm of god amulet = easy mode.
My 4 favs that have gotten me out of most problem points -bone saw blade + booster glaive handle = big wide swinging greatsword, handle allows you to zip into melee and the swing is so wide that most enemies can't evade you. -Wrench head + fireaxe handle = fairly quick blunt cudgel, wrecks every robot and sword wielding dude in the game. -booster glaive blade + dancer handle = ultra fast machete, simple, effective, with a 2 hit charged strong. -drill blade + pneumatic revolver handle = gunlance from monster hunter not the best but strong and long range, dash attack is especially potent and finally the best one -living puppet axe head + kukri handle (looks like a golden dragon head, blade is a kukri) = super fast, HUGE, short range ax, use the handles fable to hack apart ANYTHING in the game.
One really cool feature you missed on the two dragon sword is that you can move around the enemy left or right while quick attacking at the same time. Really easy to get behind the enemy while attacking all at once. Only weapon that does this to my knowledge.
Appreciate all your vids bro, helped me farm to feel competent against bossed lol. So theres a farm spot you should look into, from arch abby broken rift, head straight down the stairs to the right, then up the ladder on your right. If you follow that path youll run into one big carcass guy, a small one and the jester puppet. If you time it right and fall down the ledge they all end up fighting eachother. In total it ends up being like 4k ergo and all you have to do is take on the one that survived and puppet string them to death. Thanks again!
finished my first playthrough with the live puppet axe blade and pickaxe handle, the raw damage of the blade with the pickaxe handle's charged hit and fast follow up heavy was just so good.
I have found that the Live Puppet Axe blade with the Explosive Pickaxe haft is the way to go for that weapon. With the motivity upgrade it gets "A" scaling, and hits for about 550 AR at 40 motivity. (And attacks way faster with a better move set.)
I really like the tyrant dagger blade with the city long spear handle, it’s super fast with a great charge heavy and has built in crit on the blade with fable arts both being 1 cost buffs to damage and crit. Feels great on it’s own, feels stupid strong when you can maintain all 3 buffs
Good taste, that and tyrant dagger blade with acidic spear handle are tied for my 2 favorite weapons. There's nothing quite as satisfying as 2 tapping ng+++ mobs with an exploding dagger on a stick
@@Vaeland from the looks of it it does. It seems like crit works with all weapons and scaling as long as it has physical damage since the physical damage is the part that crits. A little example- my light attacks with the acidic handle tyrant blade hit for 250-300ish with no crit. But when it does crit it hits for 500-600 with an assassin amulet (threw it on for easier math since it essentially makes your crits do double the damage a non crit would do.)
I love the Pistol rock drill spear it's just a jack hammer as a spear and best part hold heavy for continuous nonstop hits while move forward or back and it works with any weapon as long as you use the handle only down side is it is somewhat slow for all attacks except heavy but once you make it past that one second charge to attack you are spamming heavy hits with a 30 crit chance and if equipped with a element weapon you lose the crit but gain a rapid application of qhat ever status element said weapon has if you use the heavy attack with the rock drill handle
most weapons are great in this game and you can have lots of combine’s but i dont know why not many people talk about the staff stick (the noise) its a great balance weapon too
Man this game rules. The best soulslike not made by From and even among From's games I'd still put it above some of them. Probably only behind Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring? Personally been running the Trident of the Covenant with a tech crank so it's A. Really love the moveset on it, got a nice charge heavy, and a good running attack. Good all around. Don't see many people talking about it
If you struggle with perfect guard and just want to block and tben do damage Holy Sword of the Ark has the highest guard retain. If you spec for it in your porgans you can get it higher and get more health back on hit. In its alt mode has great range and decent speed and has massive stagger potential.
Totally agree - I don't get why none of these lists even mention it, it's fast (for a greatsword), does massive damage, and the running R2 smash is awesome.
I already got all the achievements in Lies of P & beat NG++. The Bonesaw Blade with Bramble Sword handle was the best combo in terms of strength & worked well for me despite it's mid level speed. The Katana is also a good weapon if you practice it's charge attack's deflection. Proof of Humanity has great speed... but it's not the best at staggering enemies without the special grindstone. Noblesse Oblige is a great level grinding weapon paired with Puppet String Legion Arm. Acidic Great Curved Sword Blade with Bramble Sword Handle is also a good boss fighting weapon to inflict Decay on them with almost as much strength as the Bonesaw.

This video makes me so pumped for more playthroughs! These weapons are so sick and I can't wait to try them all out. This game is just so damn awesome! Delivered on the hype and then some!
The sctyhe is a cheese weapon and has a bigger reach than most if not all human sized bosses their attacks incl the black rabbit bro's and can attack through walls using a regular or charged R2, these attacks only recoil on stone armor but never on walls/objects. When attacking with regular R2's, wait ~0.3 sec after each attack you won't ever deplete your stm and you can keep any enemy stuck throwing combos at the wall as you give them no reason to relocate as their AI is programmed to counter your R2's basically 100% of the time. Using charged R2's does not work all the time as when the enemy tries to counter you, you can still be in your attack they tried to counter, so since you have no new R2 input, they will try to move around the wall to you to smack your cheeseface so hard it turns back to milk
At least while on NG, I haven't been able to switch away from the fast poking Advance weapons to both interrupt the smaller enemies, but also to apply the appropriate DoT. On the larger enemies and bosses, you can still get some interrupts, but you end up needing to get out of the way as much as possible since you can't really afford the guard damage if you don't perfect guard. Each time I try and go for a bigger, slower weapon, the lack or minimal poise system ends up punishing me too much as trading hits is not a particularly good play style. Sure, late game you have a lot of build options and by then maybe you're skill has improved, but poking still seems easier, except maybe for the Two Dragons Sword, which just seems OP. And of course, until they patch it, throwing stuff is still the most OP weapon, assuming you have the Ergo to buy and possibly save scum to avoid item loss on failed boss attempts.
Booster glaive handle gives a rush attack with charged r2 it cannot be interrupted once it takes off and you can charge it from a safe distance from the enemy. It's as powerful as a fable art but it's just regular charged r2😊
I'm currently on NG++ and the Bone-cutting sawblade and Dancers Curved Sword Handle is an absolute beast!!! Started off as an amazing technique weapon but now with the high stat investment I have its now better as a quality build. The charged r2 has amazing stagger value and very fast. Definitely worth a shout for my favourite blade.
How is NG++? In just finished my NG+ and I’m going for my truth run since I’ve gotten my “free from the puppet string” and “Rise of P” run. Want to get all the achievements but NG+ was absolutely brutal and I almost can’t even imagine it getting any harder lmao.
I used the Krat Baton handle/Bone-cutting saw combo and want to try the dancers curved sword handle on the bone-cutting saw. Do you have a technique crank on your dancers curved sword handle?
@@YureiOni I had a technique handle to start off but once you get like 60/60 in tech & mov all weapons no longer need cranks to be honest. And NG++ Is okay to be fair just got to the swamps without dieing so yeah give the combo a go definitely working for me.
No love for the Tyrant Murderers Dagger... it's not as flashy but the fast attacks plus high crit and fable art that boosts crit further. Its been my go to weapon on this run through.
I beat the game and got The Rise of P ending, won’t lie... used Specters for most boss battles... still glad I did since sweet Chaos these bosses were hard... looking at the Iron King and Nameless puppet for nearly throwing my Steam Deck through a wall... honestly makes me think going back to Elden Ring would be a kids game thanks to the fact I have an actual shield... will say this, the Salamander Dagger, the Acid spear, and the electric stick or baton or whatever it's called with some handles that allow you to swing down or purely for stabs help with tight areas... so many greatsword like swings... failed because of tight halls... oh and got the Katana boss weapon and Golden lie weapon on my first ever run... taking a LONG break from the game...
The Frozen Feast, like most weapons particularly boss weapons, in this game heavily benefits from the P-Organ system. If you take the sword as it is, and start whacking away it feels underwhelming. However, if you really want it to be 'Unleashed' you're gonna have to hit NG+2. You'll need some things in Phase 7 system as well as some options in Phase 6 to make quality of life with the weapon better but without spoiling exactly those systems, try out the weapon with the upgrades that say "Enhance Fable Catalyst effect" from the item type options. It extends how long the weapon is in it's broken state (which btw also increases the weapons damage as well as it's attack speed), reduce stamina consumption charged atk, and ehance charge atk options. All of those stack with this weapon and suddenly you can press triangle, charge attack, and charge attack for well over 4k damage.
I use the Puppet Axe with Salamander Handle...slightly shorter range, but super fast 2 bar Fable Art, and lots of quick diagonal swings. Carried me through NG and ng+
Pipe wrench hesd on, glaive blade has been my favorite so far. Ambush attacks are quick, and the charged r2 closes a ton of distance, which has let me play with other legion arms instead of the puppet string.
I love the salamander daggers too, im so bad at timing so this one works really good with my play style, im just waiting till i get the wheel or the dragon sword lmao i was excited for the puppet reaper but its too slow for me, but so good against multiple enemies, the fable art is AMAZING
Just wanted to make a note that you need the frozen feast for a quest with the metallic cylinder. The quest rewards you a quartz so I had to go with it. will get the amulet in NG+
Coil Mjolnir has to be my top favorite of the regular weapons. I have the head of it on the Booster Glaive handle so i can start my heavy at a distance and move in quick to land it. Also Spear of Honor is great too. Its got that running charge heavy.
Before even watching this. Live puppet axe with the police baton handle fucking rips pure motivity for Ng and then technique scaling ( c c) once you get to higher levels. I’m almost done with Ng +++ and it has been my main weapon, also the proof of humanity just to mix it up
“Best” is very subjective. To me, the best weapon in the game is any status head on the Alchemist Spear handle. It’s not flashy or impressive to look at, but it hits so fast it doesn’t matter. It’s almost easy mode until you get to bosses. Very little blocking/dodging needed. Even bosses have been easier with it for me. Just know which status is best for each boss and you’ll knock them out quickly too.
You can get an electric axe in chapter 7? The science fair place just from the vendor in the area. It's electric damage increases as you strike kinda slow but my God does it slice puppets up in a nutty way

No one seems to be running advance builds and they kinda slapp. The salamanders dagger and the acidic crystal spear are also solid until well into late game more the handle of the spear as it comes with an A scaling in advance and a C in technique which isn't too bad. The stabby move set is also lightning quick I just wish acidic would affect more stuff.
Hammer and the axe you showed with the fire axe handle with a motivity crank has the same move set as the large club from ds3.. So do with that info what you will. Handle makes big wepon faster if its modifiable.
Without doubt the best early boss beating weapons are... throwing cells! I'm not even joking take 5 or 6 of these into a boss fight or stalker fight early in the game and enjoy your free cheese! I specifically picked the P-Organ upgrade to allow you to carry more just for this reason. A true Dark Souls clone allowing for such cheesey tactics.
I haven’t finished first play through yet but I’ve been using fire axe handle and glaive blade because it kinda looks like ichigos true bankai (the thick sword). But so far the balance sword has been the most effective overall. But I only have 4 weapons so far at the cathedral.
Try the Wrench head & fire axe handle and you will do insane damage but it's fairly slow. There's special boss weapons that you can get soon enough that you can swap normal weapons out for.
Can anyone please help me upgrade the puppet string legion arm to max? Videos I have seen you can only upgrade it near end game. I’m at the puppet king but still need 3 more parts for the final upgrade level.
I am struggling with the game and of course not going to stop playing i can't get to the point of re-spec, and my build is pure motivity,just curious if i should just go advance and use throwables and a faster weapon option.
Use throwing items for sure. Try putting your strength weapon on the booster glaive handle, use a motivity crank if you have one to help with scaling. But even if you lose a bit of damage the booster glaive charged r2 gives you a rush attack which cannot be interrupted once it takes off, charge a safe distance away from enemy and you can land the charged r2 95 percent of the time! It could be a game changer for you
None of the advance weapons... ok interesting. Kinda basic, but interesting. TBH im still trying to find a really good use for acidic, the humans with weapons that i would want to melt seem farc off resistant to it and I can status most things with a poke or two of something that they are weak too.
I've been putting most of the points into Legion since start of game with one point into technique every few levels had idea for doing a legion build just using the legion instead of using the various weapons you get in game.
Want a really fun and stupid weapon? Looks dope as hell n hits hard, just a lil goofy? Get the Living Puppet Axe head, n pop it on the baton handle. Gigantic axe head on a tiny handle, shit is so damn funny. I absolutely ADORE the weapon building and handle modding mechanics. Bloodborne brought us the amazing trick weapons, Lies Of PP gives us moddable and switchable weapons. What could be the next crazy weapon gimmick? I like the idea of the Frozen Feast, a rocky heavy, shit-slow hunk of rock, that chips away as you attack to get faster and reveal a crystal blade. I think that is a cool mechanic, but the shit sword takes 4 full business days to fuckin swing once, n released only takes 2 days. Edit: although the Puppet String is easily the best attacking and overall legion arm, the Aegis is by far THEE BEST defense option in the entire game, like actually broken. So, as long as you hold the legion button(L2), if you spam block(L1) you will ALWAYS get a perfect guard, 100% of the time. If you got a shit-ton of legion, you can basically perfect guard everything n anything. So again, hold L2 and spam L1, perfect guard guaranteed.
Upwards slashing with a hammer is just so dumb it clearly doesn’t hit anything in reach and if it does by accident it clearly can’t deal much damage with all that gravity working against you. If it could that would me you are more powerful with your bare hands than the hammer in the first place making it redundant 😂
So.....just play with the boss weapons. I find the choice to make not one single boss weapon scale in advance incredibly frustrating. If you are a playing an Advance build, you get nothing from this video
I’ve been using the two dragons sword without a technique crank with a balanced motivity and technique build. Is it better to put a technique crank on it?
@@Doodledawgg I have an extremely overpowered stat spread so when o hover over the technique crank to upgrade the sword, it shows that it’s degrading in damage.
Once you have 30ish in both motivity and technique, C/C or C/B will outscale a pure stat build. Weapon scaling in this game is pretty conservative, making any S/D or A/D handles obsolete eventually, especially in NG+ and beyond.

The bramble curved sword handle has the same FA with a gap closing charge attack, with C in both stats. So that is a good alternative choice as well

I made a good hitting weapon and it’s charged heavy is pretty good it’s the bone-cutting sawblade and Bramble curved sword handle
the Twin Dragons Katana was my main weapon throughout My NG++ runs and still is My Favorite weapon to use in the game 🔥

Personally been running the Trident of the Covenant with a tech crank so it's A. Really love the moveset on it, got a nice charge heavy, and a good running attack. Good all around. Don't see many people talking about it
If you struggle with perfect guard and just want to block and tben do damage Holy Sword of the Ark has the highest guard retain. If you spec for it in your porgans you can get it higher and get more health back on hit.
In its alt mode has great range and decent speed and has massive stagger potential.

If you use the handle from pistol rock drill on the puppet axe. You get increased stamina with fable art and it allows lots of fast swings
That's a stab handle with a slash blade. It brings down the stats

Try the salamander handle on the puppet axe I used it all the way through NG+
the coil sword is an absolute beast and the only sword you need in the game. truly slept on weapon you get after the first boss.
Totally agree - I don't get why none of these lists even mention it, it's fast (for a greatsword), does massive damage, and the running R2 smash is awesome.
I already got all the achievements in Lies of P & beat NG++. The Bonesaw Blade with Bramble Sword handle was the best combo in terms of strength & worked well for me despite it's mid level speed. The Katana is also a good weapon if you practice it's charge attack's deflection. Proof of Humanity has great speed... but it's not the best at staggering enemies without the special grindstone. Noblesse Oblige is a great level grinding weapon paired with Puppet String Legion Arm. Acidic Great Curved Sword Blade with Bramble Sword Handle is also a good boss fighting weapon to inflict Decay on them with almost as much strength as the Bonesaw.
Personally i think the dancer sword handle is better than the bramble for the bonesaw blade. It’s charged heavy staggers in 1 hit vs the bramble in 2

The sctyhe is a cheese weapon and has a bigger reach than most if not all human sized bosses their attacks incl the black rabbit bro's and can attack through walls using a regular or charged R2, these attacks only recoil on stone armor but never on walls/objects. When attacking with regular R2's, wait ~0.3 sec after each attack you won't ever deplete your stm and you can keep any enemy stuck throwing combos at the wall as you give them no reason to relocate as their AI is programmed to counter your R2's basically 100% of the time. Using charged R2's does not work all the time as when the enemy tries to counter you, you can still be in your attack they tried to counter, so since you have no new R2 input, they will try to move around the wall to you to smack your cheeseface so hard it turns back to milk
At least while on NG, I haven't been able to switch away from the fast poking Advance weapons to both interrupt the smaller enemies, but also to apply the appropriate DoT. On the larger enemies and bosses, you can still get some interrupts, but you end up needing to get out of the way as much as possible since you can't really afford the guard damage if you don't perfect guard. Each time I try and go for a bigger, slower weapon, the lack or minimal poise system ends up punishing me too much as trading hits is not a particularly good play style. Sure, late game you have a lot of build options and by then maybe you're skill has improved, but poking still seems easier, except maybe for the Two Dragons Sword, which just seems OP. And of course, until they patch it, throwing stuff is still the most OP weapon, assuming you have the Ergo to buy and possibly save scum to avoid item loss on failed boss attempts.
Booster glaive handle gives a rush attack with charged r2 it cannot be interrupted once it takes off and you can charge it from a safe distance from the enemy. It's as powerful as a fable art but it's just regular charged r2😊
I'm currently on NG++ and the Bone-cutting sawblade and Dancers Curved Sword Handle is an absolute beast!!! Started off as an amazing technique weapon but now with the high stat investment I have its now better as a quality build. The charged r2 has amazing stagger value and very fast. Definitely worth a shout for my favourite blade.
How is NG++? In just finished my NG+ and I’m going for my truth run since I’ve gotten my “free from the puppet string” and “Rise of P” run. Want to get all the achievements but NG+ was absolutely brutal and I almost can’t even imagine it getting any harder lmao.
I used the Krat Baton handle/Bone-cutting saw combo and want to try the dancers curved sword handle on the bone-cutting saw. Do you have a technique crank on your dancers curved sword handle?
@@YureiOni I had a technique handle to start off but once you get like 60/60 in tech & mov all weapons no longer need cranks to be honest. And NG++ Is okay to be fair just got to the swamps without dieing so yeah give the combo a go definitely working for me.

No love for the Tyrant Murderers Dagger... it's not as flashy but the fast attacks plus high crit and fable art that boosts crit further.
Its been my go to weapon on this run through.
I beat the game and got The Rise of P ending, won’t lie... used Specters for most boss battles... still glad I did since sweet Chaos these bosses were hard... looking at the Iron King and Nameless puppet for nearly throwing my Steam Deck through a wall... honestly makes me think going back to Elden Ring would be a kids game thanks to the fact I have an actual shield... will say this, the Salamander Dagger, the Acid spear, and the electric stick or baton or whatever it's called with some handles that allow you to swing down or purely for stabs help with tight areas... so many greatsword like swings... failed because of tight halls... oh and got the Katana boss weapon and Golden lie weapon on my first ever run... taking a LONG break from the game...
The Frozen Feast, like most weapons particularly boss weapons, in this game heavily benefits from the P-Organ system. If you take the sword as it is, and start whacking away it feels underwhelming. However, if you really want it to be 'Unleashed' you're gonna have to hit NG+2. You'll need some things in Phase 7 system as well as some options in Phase 6 to make quality of life with the weapon better but without spoiling exactly those systems, try out the weapon with the upgrades that say "Enhance Fable Catalyst effect" from the item type options. It extends how long the weapon is in it's broken state (which btw also increases the weapons damage as well as it's attack speed), reduce stamina consumption charged atk, and ehance charge atk options. All of those stack with this weapon and suddenly you can press triangle, charge attack, and charge attack for well over 4k damage.
The golden lie secret weapon you can get is also absolutely insane. Mainly for a NG+ play through though as it is a late game weapon
I use the Puppet Axe with Salamander Handle...slightly shorter range, but super fast 2 bar Fable Art, and lots of quick diagonal swings. Carried me through NG and ng+
Pipe wrench hesd on, glaive blade has been my favorite so far. Ambush attacks are quick, and the charged r2 closes a ton of distance, which has let me play with other legion arms instead of the puppet string.

Just wanted to make a note that you need the frozen feast for a quest with the metallic cylinder. The quest rewards you a quartz so I had to go with it. will get the amulet in NG+
Coil Mjolnir has to be my top favorite of the regular weapons. I have the head of it on the Booster Glaive handle so i can start my heavy at a distance and move in quick to land it. Also Spear of Honor is great too. Its got that running charge heavy.

Before even watching this. Live puppet axe with the police baton handle fucking rips pure motivity for Ng and then technique scaling ( c c) once you get to higher levels. I’m almost done with Ng +++ and it has been my main weapon, also the proof of humanity just to mix it up
“Best” is very subjective. To me, the best weapon in the game is any status head on the Alchemist Spear handle. It’s not flashy or impressive to look at, but it hits so fast it doesn’t matter.
It’s almost easy mode until you get to bosses. Very little blocking/dodging needed. Even bosses have been easier with it for me. Just know which status is best for each boss and you’ll knock them out quickly too.

I really like comb, charge handle from that weapon in poison pull with iron puppet bolder guy and fire dagger blade, it is fun.
Im pretty sad that you can only MAX out 2 Boss weapons per run.

You can get an electric axe in chapter 7? The science fair place just from the vendor in the area. It's electric damage increases as you strike kinda slow but my God does it slice puppets up in a nutty way

No one seems to be running advance builds and they kinda slapp. The salamanders dagger and the acidic crystal spear are also solid until well into late game more the handle of the spear as it comes with an A scaling in advance and a C in technique which isn't too bad. The stabby move set is also lightning quick I just wish acidic would affect more stuff.
I finished the game with coil hammer on the baton handle straight up Thor.
Hammer and the axe you showed with the fire axe handle with a motivity crank has the same move set as the large club from ds3.. So do with that info what you will. Handle makes big wepon faster if its modifiable.

Without doubt the best early boss beating weapons are... throwing cells! I'm not even joking take 5 or 6 of these into a boss fight or stalker fight early in the game and enjoy your free cheese! I specifically picked the P-Organ upgrade to allow you to carry more just for this reason. A true Dark Souls clone allowing for such cheesey tactics.
The thunderstrike with the Thor hemmer also has poise

I haven’t finished first play through yet but I’ve been using fire axe handle and glaive blade because it kinda looks like ichigos true bankai (the thick sword). But so far the balance sword has been the most effective overall. But I only have 4 weapons so far at the cathedral.
Try the Wrench head & fire axe handle and you will do insane damage but it's fairly slow. There's special boss weapons that you can get soon enough that you can swap normal weapons out for.
Would using the arm of god and the scythe you get from Romeo be a good combo?

Use throwing items for sure. Try putting your strength weapon on the booster glaive handle, use a motivity crank if you have one to help with scaling. But even if you lose a bit of damage the booster glaive charged r2 gives you a rush attack which cannot be interrupted once it takes off, charge a safe distance away from enemy and you can land the charged r2 95 percent of the time! It could be a game changer for you

None of the advance weapons... ok interesting. Kinda basic, but interesting. TBH im still trying to find a really good use for acidic, the humans with weapons that i would want to melt seem farc off resistant to it and I can status most things with a poke or two of something that they are weak too.

I've been putting most of the points into Legion since start of game with one point into technique every few levels had idea for doing a legion build just using the legion instead of using the various weapons you get in game.

Want a really fun and stupid weapon? Looks dope as hell n hits hard, just a lil goofy? Get the Living Puppet Axe head, n pop it on the baton handle. Gigantic axe head on a tiny handle, shit is so damn funny. I absolutely ADORE the weapon building and handle modding mechanics. Bloodborne brought us the amazing trick weapons, Lies Of PP gives us moddable and switchable weapons. What could be the next crazy weapon gimmick? I like the idea of the Frozen Feast, a rocky heavy, shit-slow hunk of rock, that chips away as you attack to get faster and reveal a crystal blade. I think that is a cool mechanic, but the shit sword takes 4 full business days to fuckin swing once, n released only takes 2 days.
Edit: although the Puppet String is easily the best attacking and overall legion arm, the Aegis is by far THEE BEST defense option in the entire game, like actually broken. So, as long as you hold the legion button(L2), if you spam block(L1) you will ALWAYS get a perfect guard, 100% of the time. If you got a shit-ton of legion, you can basically perfect guard everything n anything. So again, hold L2 and spam L1, perfect guard guaranteed.

Upwards slashing with a hammer is just so dumb it clearly doesn’t hit anything in reach and if it does by accident it clearly can’t deal much damage with all that gravity working against you. If it could that would me you are more powerful with your bare hands than the hammer in the first place making it redundant 😂
So.....just play with the boss weapons. I find the choice to make not one single boss weapon scale in advance incredibly frustrating. If you are a playing an Advance build, you get nothing from this video

@@Doodledawgg I have an extremely overpowered stat spread so when o hover over the technique crank to upgrade the sword, it shows that it’s degrading in damage.
@@Doodledawgg but when I hover a motivity crank over the two dragons sword instead of a technique crank, it shows a buff in damage.
Once you have 30ish in both motivity and technique, C/C or C/B will outscale a pure stat build. Weapon scaling in this game is pretty conservative, making any S/D or A/D handles obsolete eventually, especially in NG+ and beyond.
