I have had so much fun with multiple build types, not just the weapons, but feeding into certain playstyles in tandem with the P Organ tree, like focusing on the guard regain skills, or the stagger skills, or the dodge skills, or the item skills. It is crazy how many viable options combat has from Fable Arts to weapons, running, Perfect Guards, dodging, Legion, and, surprisingly, items are actually useful even late game. I have a pure Mot, Tech, and Adv build(3 separate save files) and one where i evenly distribute points into each. All of them are fun and unique, and each has done well at progressing without too much frustration. My only real complaint is that i feel the Legion Caliburs are far too stingy. Gotta say motivity overall, Frozen Feast hits super hard and it's very rewarding when you can land big hits by knowing the moveset well and identifying enemy downtime to crush them. Feels like true mastery of enemy moveset. Weapons-wise Holy Ark, Frozen Feast, and Krat police baton handle with pipe wrench blade especially hit like a truck. The latter does require you stand extremely close tho, which is tough on human enemies, especially later on when they attack relentlessly.

Really, the advance crank applied to the booster glaive handle works well with the electric coil head as well, letting you charge a short distance and smack enemies while still letting you strike pretty quickly.

Just playing this game for a few days. Yes, you are right, I was going to write a similar comment. Electric coil is slash affinity, whereas crystal handle is stab, they don't work well together. I experimented switching handles, it's lots of fun and possibilities, but using mainly the original handles for now. Only had trouble with range on certain bosses, otherwise watch out for the wall! With elemental damage, these early light weapons pack a punch: Electric vs puppets, fire vs carcasses, acid vs humans. Sometimes, I get tired of switching, then go pure physical. This game is awesome!
My build i used was the Krat Police Baton Handle and the Booster glaive Blade, Motivity build. My other weapon was the Pole Drill Handle and the Acidic Spear Head, with a dip into Advance
My only recommendation for the heavy weapons in motivity is that a lot of players think “big max damage” and sacrifice speed. The best way to succeed and destroy bosses in souls games or souls like games is optimizing your damage around the best dps you can get in that affinity. For lies of p some fable arts are insane and I think for the saber handle (can’t remember the handle it’s red I remember that) it gives a fast three it combo on top of your base damage you do per strike. Beat guide I’ve found so far . Didn’t even know I was playing a souls game to begin with . A lot of knowledge about the game , all the other tips videos the people haven’t even beat the game 👍
6:41 Wrench head works best in terms of stagger and is available way earlier. Also, you don’t want to get the Arm of God Amulet, if you want to complete a side quest.
My new love is the pistol rock drill. Blade fable art + satisfaction grindstone + assassin's amulet + arm of god amulet + puppet/carcass amulet + handle fable art = over 10k damage if you land the whole attack, which always happens vs elite enemies cause the crits stun them, keeping them in place. Not reliable vs humans with their op poise and mobility and bosses that move around a lot though.
For the first one I actually went for Police baton handle and the default greatsword blade and I've been using it ever since, It has never let me down once and I'm in chapter 11 lol.
My first run was motivity using the holy sword almost exclusively. My second run I did technique and I loved it. Started with the dragon sword and dragon ripper, but fell in love with the booster sword + bonecutter and used it the rest of the game except for Laxasia part 1. Now I'm on NG++ with advance and it is brutal. My damage output seems barely existent while damage input is massive. I switch weapons (actually using the ones you recommend, maxed out) in fights and try to keep multiple debuffs up, but while playing like this is fun, it isn't very rewarding in damage. I thought I was doing advance wrong, but judging from your video I can't do a whole lot more. Too bad, it seemed like a fun class. Update: I had real problems with both the parade master and the scrapped watcher (I managed to beat him only by kiting and chipping, while he used to be easy), but for some reason Fuocu and Archbishop were a complete breeze. The difference may have been that I put some points in Motivity and Technique as Advance seemed capped. It felt like a big difference, also on regular enemies.
Rope arm is perfect for ultra heavy weapons because it makes you close the distance and do a quick plunging attack with your weapon. And if your weapons hits like a truck or it's a dagger, it's always only one hit.
Ive beaten this game four times and honestly, my motivity build was my favorite. I used the cleaver with the mjolnir handle scaled up to A, that thing does nasty damage and the Endure skill saved my butt more times than i can count. On my tech build, i mostly used the twin dragons sword, to nobody's surprise. But Proof of Humanity was also pretty nasty. I'd like to experiment more with the Ouroboro's Eye, though, it did stupidly high damage against Simon. But its kinda slow imo.
I've done two runs using the Holy Sword of the Ark and it's just perfect to me. It has a great 70 percent or so guard damage reduction and the secondary weapon mode has such a perfect moveset imo. You can get it quite early and it carries through the entire game. It may not be the best in damage or this and that, but I find that the moveset makes it perfect for me personally.
Big. Pipe. Wrench. Immediately fell in love and wished I didn't go the technique route. The avatar for it looks like an angry, metallic piranha plant with a valve earing. It'll also easily carry you through all of NG. CLANK
Bonesaw with the exploding axe handle just wrecks enemies. The r2 attack is extremely fast if you press it quickly and it never bangs off the wall in tight hallways. It will also do a swipe attack if you do an evade into an r1 which is nice.
Yeah Extreme Modification is always a must for me. I rarely use fable arts, most common one is activating Frozen Feast. On my no levelling playthrough it's the one heavy damage amulet I can fit in without being a fatroller
The specter makes bosses easy in this game. Minibosses can often be the hardest or platforming sections once you have the specter and ability to make him stronger. I haven't finished the game yet but that's how it feels right now.
Black steel cutter with dancers curved handle helped me clear out the carcass areas a lot easier! Lil side weapon. My main one currently is city longspear handle with tyrants murderer dagger. That thing is deadly
No idea why, but acidic spear blade/fire axe blade with dancer’s curved blade handle or electric circular saw blade on the master chef’s knife handle are both very interesting weapons
This games so cool with the ability to swap out handles I’m running a motivity with the wrench head and the fire axe handle and it just destroys everything and staggers everyone. The fire axe heavy is a poise break and damage monster
I'm on NG+4. Best weapons I found was the electric coil club vs robots (makes nameless puppet a breeze) . Fire dagger vs humans and infected. Acid spear vs Humans and Mutated humans (Luxasia & Simon). When you use weapons that target the specific weakness of each enemy type the games easy. Same with legion arms but the shield was the main one.
Im running full advance, fire dagger+acid spear handle n coil head +blacksteel handle both S scaling in adv with 40 adv 1st playthrough. I just proc all 3 effects and then parry till i can crit strike, havent hit a roadblock yet. Its also nice to run through a lvl and fight all 3 enemy types with their weaknesses in my pocket
I’m so happy the katana is in this game and so popular. It keeps the attention off my sweet sweet Spear of the Covenant. The real best technique weapon in the game. Also, I haven’t played in a few weeks so not sure if anything changed, but pretty sure Falcon Eyes is the best scaling technique arm, not puppet string and I believe Humanity is a quality weapon, not technique.

I just started Lies of P ( beat the archbishop) and realized that by using my dark souls mindset, I made the builds you described, before seeing this video.
Greetings. I'm going to start NG+ having used an advance build. What two weapons do you recommend to be able to complete this new run without suffering too much? Thank you. 🙋🏻
I fully upgraded my puppet sling and that launch you get on the third upgrade is seriously OP. I used that with the bone cutting saw from the beginning of my first play though and i can stagger just about anything with just two (have the stagger quartz upgrades also). So just about any boss or mini boss I would be able to launch towards them, jump high in the air and slam down on them with a hit that would whiten their bar so the next heavy charged hit will stagger them. Now my Bone Cutting Saw is fully upgraded and I have used that ever since :-)
On my first playthrough i started with the base greatsword-> wrench head+greatsword handle-> wrench head and handle-> wrench head+mjolnir handle, the extra reach from mjolnir handle and the charged heavy being only 1 hit instead of the 2 hit swing frowm wrench handle.......STREGNTH BEST STAT
You get enough upgrade materials to get 3 +10 normal weapons and 2 +5 boss weapons. An advance build is more varied because you have to level up 3 weapons and swap between them as you go. Also I think the frozen feast gets advance scaling when awakened.
Nice to know which weapons and etc are the best, stats etc.. Im on my first 2 playthroughs with STR and DEX build and im playing mainly for fashion, i dont like to break my weapons apart and have wierd looking weapons. If you dodge/block/parry well + use the correct element on your blade + unload the fable arts at important moments you will destroy your first playthrough. I also feel there are only 2 builds in the game STR and DEX. The ADV weapons seem to be something you build out in parallel for STR or DEX, so like 25/25 STR + ADV or 25/25 DEX + DEV and you some of the elemental weapons in your toolkit because the electric hammer is ADV + STR on scalling and the Burning Dagger is ADV + DEX on scaling so i think its only fitting to go into both. I can also accept a third spec like you showed. I also think the STR build can play with the shield arm + lots of guard regain and stuff, seems like a cool build too if you like it you can make it work.
Greetings. Is the spear of Wo Long that you get at the beginning of the game really advisable? After watching this video, I think I'll go with the advance weapons but I don't know if Wo Long's spear is better. Thank you. 😊👍
I didnt get to fight nameless puppet untill ng+ was trying various heavy weapons against him even the live puppet axe blade with the police baton handle...but it was mjolnir that brought me home in that fight.
I'm a big fan of the Greatsword of Fate blade on the Salamander Dagger handle, great for technique builds especially with the crank on it. Basically carried my ass until I grabbed the Dancer's Sword
This is why I loved sekiro so much. You get one sword at the beginning of the game, no upgrades, no mods, no stats, no fancy attacks, just you and your skill.
Yeah I figured out how all the stats worked at chapter 9….. apparently there are 11 chapters so yeah that sucks that I didn’t fully understand it by the end of 3
Technique is better to start with, Puppethead Axe + Bramble handle. Crit technique build Tyrant Dagger + City Longspear+Crit Grindstone and Assassins amulet i think can out dps anything. These also apply for quality builds. As far as normal weapons go i think these 2 overall outdo everything else in terms of damage but also flexibility and stam cost. Ive been trying a bunch of combos but nothing competes. These 2 are S tier. Edit: Bramble handle is only good with quality build
Maybe it’s just where I was in a higher NG+ but whenever I use the tyrant dagger, it doesn’t seem to do all that much damage! I’ll definitely give that combo a go though because I don’t think I’ve used it with the spear before :)
@@tkcjazza yea I am on NG+ 5 using this exact setup and it is pretty crazy - I don't even use the FA, just the Assassin's amulet and the Fable Slot AP amulet
I still feel like the nativity sword for the beginning of the game is still goated for me, but maybe later on in the game I can find another weapon that fits my fancy.
My favorite combo so far has been live puppet axe head + explosive pickaxe handle. Great blocking ability, big damage and stun potential, relatively fast charged heavys, nice range and a super useful handle ability. Oh, and it also looks metal as fuck
My first playthrough used the explosive pick handle and the booster glaive blade, because I was obsessed with the fable art for closing distance. My second was bramble curved handle and electric saw blade, because extra lightning got stagger ability was a blessing.
In terms of just going through location I really enjoy puppet reaper. The range it’s just fantastic and it’s work on multiple enemies. If you keep you distance nobody will touch you. Combine this with puppet string and two dragons or proof of humanity (for parry and bosses) made me beat ng+3 with ez. And I am not really good at parrying at all, as ds veteran I prefer to dodge xd
My Greatest Creation was Tyrant Murderer's Blade with City Long Spear Handle, both are good Weapons especially the Tyrant Murderer's Dagger i beat romeo in under 4m with it but when you put them together i Dominated even Laxsasia i
On ng+3 now with Mjolnir head+Fire axe handle and sawblade+explosive pickaxe handle, no crazy fable arts but the moveset is just feels absurd because the tap charge atk comes super fast and propel you forward a little, high stagger+high guard dmg reduction.

I used Black steel cutter blade with Acidic Great Curved Sword Handle and easily, in 3-4 attempts, I defeated the three final bosses. Manus in general on the first attempt)
This is the second video I've seen where the Black Steel Cutter blade has a fire effect. When I found that weapon, no such attribute was present; it's just a plain metal blade. Have I missed something? I'm going for mostly Advance build, but I like using the Salamander Blade/Acid Spear combo, and the Tyrant Murderer's Dagger. Very fast, and good Crit as well.

i like the wintry rapier handle with tyrants blade but will try your combo@@thundertwonk1090
@@thundertwonk1090 especially after the recent patch - was stunned on NG +++ how much damage this did
Beat guide I’ve found so far . Didn’t even know I was playing a souls game to begin with . A lot of knowledge about the game , all the other tips videos the people haven’t even beat the game 👍
Love how all these weapons look and sound! (Also kept getting distracted by the GW2/Jeremy Soule-esque music in the background lol)
Very nice informative Video.I love the Skyrim Soundtrack by the way
6:41 Wrench head works best in terms of stagger and is available way earlier.
Also, you don’t want to get the Arm of God Amulet, if you want to complete a side quest.
The skyrim song was a nice choice bought me the entire video
The best soundtrack in gaming history ;) - hopefully you enjoyed the content attached to it!
I too immediately noticed skyrim soundtrack.
Well played
My new love is the pistol rock drill. Blade fable art + satisfaction grindstone + assassin's amulet + arm of god amulet + puppet/carcass amulet + handle fable art = over 10k damage if you land the whole attack, which always happens vs elite enemies cause the crits stun them, keeping them in place.
Not reliable vs humans with their op poise and mobility and bosses that move around a lot though.
I firmly stand by Proof of Humanity being the best Quality weapon in the game. Amazing move set, double B scaling, high damage, and great weapon arts.
For the first one I actually went for Police baton handle and the default greatsword blade and I've been using it ever since, It has never let me down once and I'm in chapter 11 lol.
Great video. I especially like the p organ bit. Very helpful for my first play through.
The seven coil spring sword is the best motivity weapon because it's also fast. And the charged breaks stances really well. AND it looks good.
I've done two runs using the Holy Sword of the Ark and it's just perfect to me. It has a great 70 percent or so guard damage reduction and the secondary weapon mode has such a perfect moveset imo. You can get it quite early and it carries through the entire game. It may not be the best in damage or this and that, but I find that the moveset makes it perfect for me personally.
yeah my favourite weapon so far
Big. Pipe.
No spoilers, but dependent on the choices you make in the game...The final boss may make you change your mind.
That's what I have been using
thats mainly what i was using on my first
Big pipe wrench and fire ace handle has carried me all the way to chapter 8 so far
This is all I’ve used and upgraded ! Dont see me wanting to change anytime soon!
that wrench and police combo was exactly what i used but the range pisses me off versus bosses.
A few things have changed - spear of the covenant is still insane though, so we’ll keep it between us ;)
Where do I find the katana?
@@sidneyshaw9205 Beat the boss of chapter 8 and trade the boss ergo to get the katana.
Brilliant video, thank you! Liked and subbed!
No, thank you! There’s plenty more souls content on the channel :)
i can't believe i'm watching a 20 minutes video on good weapons just so i can go back to my starting rapier
😂😂 - if you ever decide to change, at least you know what to use now!
@@tkcjazza i tried the bonecutting sawblade with the booster glaive handle and it's pretty damn good, can cheese most mobs with a heavy atrack, backstep and repeat but i'm playing for so long with the rapier that it became almost part of me lol
@@tkcjazza i actually finished the game with the rapier and start NG+ and bought the umbrella, and imagine my joy once i tested it and it had the almost same attacks as the rapier
I was actually happy to see other motivity builds dodge more than block. Felt like I was playing wrong.
The dodge/running attacks are just too good that’s why 😂
I just started Lies of P ( beat the archbishop) and realized that by using my dark souls mindset, I made the builds you described, before seeing this video.
Yeah, if you’ve played dark souls before you’re pretty much set for any souls-like game and how to complete it
My seven coiled sword was amazing, since i got it, man that parry does DMG
Live puppet axe on booster glaive and the saw blade on the bramble curved sword handle are my favorite
Now my Bone Cutting Saw is fully upgraded and I have used that ever since :-)
The Dodge fable art makes you dodge in whatever direction you're holding the stick. If you're not holding a direction, it dodges backwards.
Thank you. 😊👍
Bone cutting saw and explosive pickaxe handle. Far and away best strength build. More consistent and safe than any other motivity combo.
If you have the stats, Blacksteel Blade+Acidic Greatsword Handle with Technique crank is absolutely tasty
My choice is the Blacksteel with the Salamander handle, as it's got good range and a fast attack speed while still dealing some good damage.
I use the rapier because I love the move set and stabby stabby
I didnt get to fight nameless puppet untill ng+ was trying various heavy weapons against him even the live puppet axe blade with the police baton handle...but it was mjolnir that brought me home in that fight.
I'm a big fan of the Greatsword of Fate blade on the Salamander Dagger handle, great for technique builds especially with the crank on it. Basically carried my ass until I grabbed the Dancer's Sword
This is why I loved sekiro so much. You get one sword at the beginning of the game, no upgrades, no mods, no stats, no fancy attacks, just you and your skill.
Yeah I figured out how all the stats worked at chapter 9….. apparently there are 11 chapters so yeah that sucks that I didn’t fully understand it by the end of 3
Just tried the acidic spear against Laxasia and damn advance is the best
Holy sword of the arc with 2nd Mode on last with me whole game.
@@tkcjazza yea I am on NG+ 5 using this exact setup and it is pretty crazy - I don't even use the FA, just the Assassin's amulet and the Fable Slot AP amulet
good idea on the Bone song but I would go for the wrench
Mjonir coil head combined with fire axe handle is op!
Very well done! Thanks for sharong with us.
Anytime ;)
This is very very helpful, thank you
Excellent guide very helpful thanks 👍 😊
Anytime :)
My Greatest Creation was Tyrant Murderer's Blade with City Long Spear Handle, both are good Weapons especially the Tyrant Murderer's Dagger i beat romeo in under 4m with it but when you put them together i Dominated even Laxsasia i
Thank you for this video
On ng+3 now with Mjolnir head+Fire axe handle and sawblade+explosive pickaxe handle, no crazy fable arts but the moveset is just feels absurd because the tap charge atk comes super fast and propel you forward a little, high stagger+high guard dmg reduction.
Yeah, those are also really good combinations - that’s just the best thing about lies of p, there’s just sooo many decent weapons!
I've just started playing lie of p and the weapon I've been using is azure dragon crescent glaive
It’s Fùlmeenees (the ee sound is shorter than your Classic flee sound) it’s pretty much latin as most of names and lore are connected to italian Pinocchio’s tale. Cheers from Italy👍🏻
In early game I like the pipe wrench and dagger handle. Late game two dragons sword
Electric coil head is far better than wrench with baton because of the buffs it got.
I had a lot of fun with the wrench head and booster glaive handle
I’m at the max level, having all my stats at 100. Hopefully they increase the level cap for the DLC. Plus hope it include an Electric great sword in the game.
thank you your video helped me a lot
Damn im using the booster glaive with the bonesaw crusher in my motivity run lmao i just love the charged attack of the booster glaive
I believe the blades fable art ignites the blade, same with the acidic great sword
Salamander dagger moveset is too good
On ng+3 I'm using pretty much only the booster glaive handle with the mjolnir head. Puppet axe head does more base but the mjolnir head is cooler.
Trident of the covenant is 10/10 for technique
My stats at the end of my first run using mjolnir after I got it
40 hp
5 stam
20 weight
45 strength
And I used the puppet string.
Nameless was a rough time but most of the game was just pure fun
What would you recommend for a quality/cricket build? (both motivity and technique)
Two dragon sword does not come from the puppet king, it comes from the puppet devouring green monster’s ergo.
Just made a circular electric chainsaw with the electric coil handle..Upgrade it a bit ,the performance is quite shocking!😂
