Still Got The Blues, and this performance in particular became very close to my heart when I was living the lyrics a few years ago.

Two things - 1) he finds a new, more soulful groove and 2) the outro leaves room for the solo of the guitarist no longer alive to play it.

Eric is a legend but alas, this song NEEDS a flaming guitar solo... this one seems a lounge version of Still Got The Blues.

    クラプトンが歌えば、クラプトンの持ち歌になってしまう。
    gotではなくgetと歌うのはクラプトンらしくていい。

I'm curious to know why you said that it's more typical of him to sing "get" instead of "got."

it' s kind of hypocrit that eric never invited gary moore at the crossroads festival when he used to invite all the blues guitarists! and gary was affected by the lack of clapton attention! and now that gary passed awas he covered his song too late eric

Your comment is so ridiculous, that it's laughable.
Clapton from 90 to 2000 was at the pinnacle of his phenomenal career.
His From the Cradle album and tours were some of, if not the best blues playing and vocals, ever laid down.
His playing at the Dylan 30th concert at MSG brought the house down, with a 2 minute standing ovation. Steve Kropper and GE Smith looked at him in awe.
On a night of superstar musicians, no one could touch him.
His playing at his early to mid 2000s Crossroads concerts were on a level few could ever touch.
That old Boring crap, iss a joke.

@@robmorrison1043People who say such things only based their opinions on records, which is fair, Clapton does sound very tame within the studio post Dominoes. But in live shows my god he is a completely different beast. His 90s-2010 era shows is something I listen to daily. 2001 in Budokan, 2004 Crossroads, 2006 in MSG, 2007 in Budokan, 2010 Crossroads. What a blues player honestly.

He took away everything that is great about this song. Such a shame!

    • @prathameshbhambure
      @prathameshbhambure ปีที่แล้ว +2

The actual shame is that you haven't realized that music is free like water. It's not supposed to be specific, rigid & stringent. Hope you learn that someday.

@@prathameshbhambureThank you for the lesson. You might agree or disagree on that art is subjective. If you enjoy Mr. Clapton's rendition, then good for you. I'm not telling you how to feel about it or that nobody is allowed to cover or change this song. Also it is not my place to teach you lessons based on your comments or opinions about a piece of music. You have a good day friend.

Clapton is good (not god). But to be very honest, this song he would have done better if tried to copy Gary instead of messing it up like that.
This is the worse professional tribute to this masterpiece of the blues, and the fact that someone like Clapton did it make it worse.
