    I was in a past relationship where I was the immature one, and it ruined our relationship (partly), he taught me to be more mature by showing me my wrong behaviors and finally I was ready and mature enough for a relationship only after we ended our relationship. I feel so sorry for my ex for having to put up with me, but I am thankful and know that I was not the only one who had flaws. I am proud of myself that I grew and now found a healthy relationship with someone as mature as I am and its a perfect match.

      the best part of all this is that being immature can be attractive if it has boundaries- boundaries which stop exactly when your partner is being harmed or doesn't know what to do- this shouldn't ever happen. So being childish and knowing where to stop is very very very attractive and even teaches ur partner to actually understand what u wanted to tell them.

    There's also one critical red flag of immaturity: often change of partners after a short period of dating. It means the person is only capable of the 1st stage of romantic relationships, but isn't capable to move to the next stages where you have to take responsibility and do something beside dancing and eating in a cafe.

      There are alot of people with different problems and reasons. Some might have a diagnosis like Asberger or whatever. Some might be socially afraid. Some might not now what they know or maybe the reason is that they know exactly what they want so they jump off the train as soon as they realize that they don't like it. Some might be to shy. Some might be pushed by their friends to date or not to date. Some might not be allowed by their parents and need to quit. Some might not think that they are good enough. Some might have gotten a bad message like someone closely related have died or that they have cancer. So they can have instability in their life. Or maybe it's just in their personality. You don't know why they are like that and what they have gone through. It's that persons choice so what is your right to judge them. If they are a problem for you, then maybe you should check what is the problem with yourself. Lack of wiseness and understanding? If you have a problem with them, then just don't mind them. Or if it directly affects you, you can also ask them. But to generalise is extremely immature.

    • @LighthouseJaye
      @LighthouseJaye 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      True. For a long time even I didn't think I was capable of loving someone past 6 months but once I'd been in a relationship and done the work on myself, because I was so afraid of committing I didn't know when love wasn't going to just fix everything and sometimes you have to let go even if you love them. After watching this, I blame myself less for breaking up because my partner at the time had at least 5 of these 7 issues in abundance. Hard to lose but harder to stay

    Just ended my 8.5 years relationship and never felt so relieved in my life. She kept saying that I was immature but in the end, it was her all along. Walking on eggshells was on point. I used to think twice before I speak because she got hurt so easily over little things. Then she gets mad for not telling the truth and say whatever is on my mind. She gives me silent treatment all the time and when I try to talk to her, she said that I should know already like I’m a mindreader. I avoided my friends just to make her felt secure. I gained 60lbs so she wont get jealous of other girls looking at me. Now I will find someone who would truly appreciate me for who I am.

      You can grow and improve yourself. It's good to look at the past, but not dwell on it. You should look at what happened, where you went wrong, why, and how you can fix it. You should try to go for the root cause of the issue as it will resolve it permanently. You can get better, you just have to put the work in to do so. With hard work and perseverance, you can better yourself so you don't make your past mistakes again. Good luck my guy.

    This goes for friends too. I had a friend who definitely had more than a few traits from this list. She is five years older than me so yeah, like a lot of people are saying in the comments, emotional maturity is not at all defined by age. I do still miss her because she was really nice and fun to talk to, and she was really great in a lot of other ways. But her immaturity made it so hard and I did feel like I was always walking on eggshells around her.

      Same here, I was trying to help her be less immature, she can admit when she's wrong (sometimes) but she never does anything to change it, and if she said she would, it was never clear of any efforts they made. Just recently she decided she didn't want to be friends anymore, and that's when I realized she never really had that much care towards the relationship and I was the only one trying to keep together, so I ended things with them.

She kept saying we trauma bonded like she was doing me a favor being my friend.

To anyone who is reading this, there’s hope! Just focus on your own self, figure out why you are attracted this type of person in the first place. Once you build enough self dignity and understand your worth, you will never let anyone ruin your day anymore. Stop pleasing people and make yourself happy first.. You cannot make others happy. maturity is so weird especially when you’re a teenager with a brat for a mother, and you’ve been taught it’s okay to hurt people when you’re angry, etc etc. like just.. whew. i’m going to be loving though, for myself and others. it’s much more sweeter being a lovely person. god bless immature people because most of the time they lack guidance, love, and discipline in their lives. they’ll get there yall. just love them from far away

    People need to be very careful and honest with themselves before accusing someone of blame shifting. Sometimes this is done to victimise someone: and it's the classic "deny, attack, reverse victim and aggressor" - deny that they are a victim, victimise them, accuse them of victimising themselves. I discovered with my new therapist that that was what my previous *therapist* had been doing to me...mistreating me and accusing me of playing the victim

But I’m not where I used to be, and it’s the most comforting thing ever. I appreciate who had to deal with me back then, and even though some of them might not be in contact with me anymore, my present self understood why they were the way they were and I have nothing but really thankful for the good they have done for me. I’m not in the place to ask others anymore. I’ve outgrown my old self even, and I’m looking forward to what’s beyond even though there’s a lot of unsure unknown uncertainty to it. I’ve learned, and continue learning, and that’s the most important thing. I remain to be teachable.

    • @Juuxr
      @Juuxr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      My advice for everyone who's reading this is: NEVER date someone immature, unless they're open to mature.

    • @Juuxr
      @Juuxr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Update to my experience: 30th November we talked eye to eye with each other. Everything was a pretty bad misunderstood, from both sides. He apologized for the ghosting, and I apologized for not being comprehensive/being too emotional (he's studying for his final project/presentation to graduate and is super overwhelmed, and so I, who's studying to be accepted for college, so we both are really struggling and stressed). We both love each other so much that this time we were separated gave us the affirmation of how much our relationship and love are intense and truthful. We opened our heart and we decided to fight for our relationship. And it's going on pretty well, actually way better than before. So I recommend strongly to all, to be 100% honest and open minded to your partner. No space to be right or be the victim. The wholesomeness of the relationship is more worthy than this. NEVER stop talking 100% to your partner without giving a soulful explanation. ALWAYS be careful of how you express your feelings, remember to ALWAYS think how the other can understand what you will say and how can he/she feels listening to your words. Be emotional responsable. ALWAYS remember you are dealing with a imperfect human being just like you. It's about the perfect acceptance of an imperfect person. Hope my experience can hope you.
      (If you are ghosted, my advice is to be honest to how you feel, speak it and then go live your life. Just do it one time, this way you've made your part, being emotional mature. Try to be calm and to not overthinking. Ghosting actually says more about what the other person is or what he/she is passing through or what he/she is feeling, than about you.)
      (If you are ghosting, I advice you to stop it now and to explain to the person why are you doing it, even you've already made this before. To listen actively to what the other will say, and them stop talking for a determined time. This way you can have your time to reflect without being unresponsive to the others feelings.
      (Sorry for my bad English. )

      I'm sorry to hear that, that's disgusting :( Unfortunately a lot of the older women in my life say the same thing. It is as though they think it's in men's DNA to act this way when really it's because of people like them enabling that kind of behavior. My brother is the epitome of immature but no one does anything because that's just "who he is". If I were you I'd stop taking relationship advice from her... Best of luck.

Every trait on this list describes them and how the relationship was going, I was trying to ignore it but most of the times it made me really mad and snap at them when I really didn’t want to. I feel like getting out of that relationship was the smartest decision I’ve made in a long time.

    For 6, passive aggressive, I find it difficult to stay open, happy, and friendly when I am trying to calm down and come up with the constructive and healthy words to say when bringing up the issues. So the result is I will have a passive aggressive phase while I sort out my emotions and prepare myself for a transparent and relatively positive confrontation. I would like advice on this dilemma!

      If it's anything like me, I have to take myself out of the situation for a moment and recollect my thoughts. Even if I have to go into like a note app and just jot down my thoughts, then that's another way for me to get that passive aggressiveness out.
      I'm still learning about this stuff since I will admit: I'm so immature[and it's terrible for my age] but I hope this helps you. Sometimes it helps me, but knowing me, my emotions get the best of me and I react.

      Yeah... I guess it's difficult to strike the right balance.
      Can't expect from people not to show any passive aggressiveness, given that lately so many things are considered red flags. Honesty is great, but if we have to worry about how and what we say all the time...
      You can always say, "I felt insulted when you said/did this". I don't think there's a better way since this one is sincere, non-insulting, and direct.
      Overthinking about it will eventually make you doubt whether you should talk openly at all
