I wish my 240sx came with a SR20, but because their getting hard to find I took the first one I found. So the 240sx I found had a single cam KA24E. So I'm going to LS swap it once my KA breaks down. Why LS because evey other motor is just too expensive. I can build an LS for cheaper then getting an SR20.

Just FYI that gasket sealant makes paper gaskets one time use and disassembly takes some force. Really best reserved for sealing surface damage. As a teen I sprayed a 2 stroke gasket set all at once without realizing they'd be ruined when removing the CVT cover and intake/carb for tuning. Made a bunch more cleaning work too.

@@240sxRule depends where they're from, outside of the States Silvia's didn't have KA engines. they went from CA18DE/T (actually older, from the S12, but more power than a KA stock and super strong) and halfway through the S13 model went to an SR18 or SR20 for the 180sx and silvia respectively. Wire wheeling your alternator definitely cleans it up, but it will make it rust. find a direct to metal clear or galvanizing coat to put on it to make it last longer.

Great video. I've done what you did here and from my experience it's better to sand blast & powder coat the old parts whenever possible. Buying of the brand new ones and fitting them without a powder coating is kind of a time waste, as these will corrode/oxidise again...
Might as well do a Bosch electronic throttle body too it looks a lot cleaner. The 60mm has the same bolt pattern as the oem SR20 throttle. Just need longer bolts.
That exhaust manifold needs expansion reliefs between the ports. The CTE difference between the head and the manifold can shear the exhaust studs over time without expansion reliefs
The coolant return line fitting that you removed and sealed by weling , it is actually the main hot coolant retuen for the thermostat, the mian reason to flow thru there is to let the thermostat see how hot the coolant temp exit from the head, AND YOU MUST KEEP THAT ALIVE, the one that closer to the block you keep, is the heater return line, which WILL NOT affect the thermostat operation and it does NOTHING to open the thermostat, THATS THE ONE YOU SHOULD BLOCK OFF if you do not need heater, if you keep the factory thermostat or a low temp thermostat and your coolant flow like that, you will have high water temp problem, caused by improper hot coolant flow path, hot coolant did not flow thru the back of the thermostat, and the thermostat will be too lazy to open. IF YOUR COOLANT FLOW LIKE YOU DID , THE ONLY CONDITION WITHOUT OVERHEATING IS NO THERMOSTAT TO CONTROL COLD COOLANT FLOW BACK FROM THE RADIATOR. --- ie: welded blocked off path originally design to flow hot coolant on the back of the thermostat to fight with the cold coolant flow from the front of the thermostat !
