I say it every time. And I don’t mind saying it again… getting a notification that Ahti has posted a new video is just the best thing my phone has done today lol… I can’t wait to watch in full later… ❤️
Yes! I love to see that there are people battling the throw away culture we have. These pieces of history are so important for us to remember our past. And things were made so much better back then too.
This bench will "live" to see many more days , thanks to you ! The design on the seat and back panels is lovely , and the graceful design brings a beauty to a utilitarian piece of furniture not generally seen in today's public places .
The design wasn’t even visible in the unfinished piece, but it was probably the reason that made the restoration worthwhile. I love the fact that you use both old master skills and cutting edge technology to achieve your fabulous results Ahti. Thank you for another mesmerizing idea!
That is an excellent restoration. Not too much, so it still has the look of an old bench. The 3D printing to replicate the pattern was inspired, and well executed, and the domed upholstery tacks finished it off nicely. Well done sir!
I believe he actually laser engraved the pattern. Lasers are becoming pretty handy for many things, like work previously done with a scroll saw, cutting templates, and inlay work.
Wow 🤩 I didn’t even see that beautiful detail until you scrubbed it! You have so many magic tricks to save the furniture! Not to mention the big “shoot out “! 😂😂 I love it when you show your humor! A good laugh in the morning to start my day. Thank you 🙏🏻! Can’t wait for the next video! God Bless!
I love seeing old pieces restored. Not only did you give it new life, you are keeping history alive. I never would have guessed that all of the dark areas were dirt and grime!! Wow! It got a well-deserved bath. Lol. It's gorgeous now!!!
How absolutely lovely. And so clever with the laser imaging. You brought it back to life and it's wonderful. Thanks for sharing this, Ahti. This was a fun restoration.
Oh my goodness Ahti, what restoration you have done. I know I’ve said this many times but your awesome! I had no idea that there was a design on those seats. You using that cool machine of yours definitely did it’s job. I never new you can hide those worm holes but I learned that you can. Everyone wants church pews but I’d rather have a bench from a railroad station. If this bench could talk can you imagine the wonderful n sad stories it could tell. It’s definitely been well used n probably some love. I like to mention, I’m so happy that you started this Utube channel. You are a master in your trade. I’m never disappointed in watching restore some history. Thank you. ♥️♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟🌟 PS, I love your sense of humor too.
Perfectly imperfect ! OLD gal shows her age but not all her battle scars. Imagine the stories she could tell ! Love this piece. You are a genius in restoration. Thank you .
I like your no-nonsense approach, yet your respect for the craftsmanship and honesty of the piece you restore is always paramount. Always a pleasure watching you work.
as always a spectacular restoration. One of your videos and a cup of coffee and its a great day. Thank you for taking all the time and effort to edit and post these videos. it is greatly appreciated.
Marvellous job, Ahti. I can imagine the buzz you get when you see the owner's joy and surprise on their face, seeing their piece restored. Who knows how many viewers have been inspired to take up cabinet making after watching your videos. Cheers, mate.
My dad was a carpenter, he started as a journeyman at six years of age... if he were still alive he would have greatly appreciated your way of working, very attentive and professional... a true craftsman, in the best sense of the word
If I only viewed the before and after photos, I would have wondered if this was the same piece. Watching the transformation, start to finish was amazing. It is a different as day is to night. Good job.
What a beautiful transformation. I especially love the different glues, stains and shellac. So much skill and work with such a glorious final finished piece of history.
I love old furniture there is such great craftmanship in the making of these pieces. Very solid and beautiful in detail. Modern furniture won't last the time.
You do such GREAT work, you not only restore but actually bring back the original life to the item. It looks like it should. You work with what is there and not just replace it with new stuff, you will create a work of art with the old wood. You are a true Master at your chosen profession. Have a terrific day
Добрый день! Как всегда великолепно! Ваши ролики нечасты и долгожданны, проекты интересны и сложны. Искренне желаю сложных задач и успешных их решений!
What a wonderful restoration! The final shade gave the bench more style. It was very interesting to see the impression you made of the furniture's pattern. You are incredibly talented and humorous. Love it!🎉👏🌷
I really respect that as much of the old, with all its scars, was kept as possible. Antique furniture, especially a railroad bench, has a reminder of everyone whoever sat in it. Every scratch, every dent is a piece of history.
What a lovely piece! Wood is so beautiful. Not only do I admire the craftsmanship from the 1800’s thru the early 20th century…. I admire the current craftsmen who restore these old pieces.
I loved watching the artwork on those back panels come back and be duplicated. That's to me what made the bench something more than a basic bench. That touch of artwork on the seats and back. Nice work.
I'm 83 years old and have stripped many antiques and I thought maybe I could give you a hint a toothbrush for dentures is excellent for grooves and such way back when I was restoring porcelain dolls I mixed wood shavings and glue. I think I invented the method🙂 I've not seen your videos yet so today is a first. Looks good so far. Keep up the good work
This is a piece of history well restored. Thank you for showing us the process. I can only imagine the many men, women and children that sat on this bench awaiting for life that was to come or already passed. Powerful piece of furniture. I can feel the history.
This work is so beautiful. My grandfather was a railroad conductor when I was very young. I remember mom taking me down to the train station to see him when they stopped in our hometown. I remember how beautiful the station was with benches similar to this. I was born in 1956 and only 4 or 5 at the time but even then old things filled me with fascination.
Genius furniture restoration, and a possible explanation of the history with a foiled robbery to illustrate it. Nice! No other furniture restorer does so much for the viewer. Thank you.
Wow! I thought it was just painted black. That's a lot of dirt and smoke that you cleaned off. The bench is beautiful now. It's a shame someone didn't clean it before it got so filthy. 😊❤ I love to see the past preserved.
Awww... what a lovely restoration of an old, sad bench. I never tire of watching your videos and your attention to detail. Thank you for another visit to your shop!
I think of all the people and their dreams, hopes and destinies who have passed this bench. And now You have brought the bench back to a new life with new hopes…well done!
Amazing to think that dirt and grime is from 2 world wars and the people that put it there are now long gone. So happy to see some these being restored. Amazing work!
I always wanted to tell you, you are not a restorer, you are an artest, you make me travel to the past with every single video. love your videos. keep the great work
I say it every time. And I don’t mind saying it again… getting a notification that Ahti has posted a new video is just the best thing my phone has done today lol… I can’t wait to watch in full later… ❤️

Hahaha... you are way too funny!
I feel the same way!
Have a great day 💖
Me too, can only confirm. Well put!
What a sad life you must have.
@@icecream9009 REALLY? Come on!
As a retired railroader I'm gratified to see our history preserved. Thank you very much.
I wish I had gotten a job on a railroad. I love trains.
Trains have their own charm!

Well, hidden drawers, wormholes, laser printing, typical great restoration skills AND a shoot out! This was quite an episode 😊
The design wasn’t even visible in the unfinished piece, but it was probably the reason that made the restoration worthwhile. I love the fact that you use both old master skills and cutting edge technology to achieve your fabulous results Ahti. Thank you for another mesmerizing idea!
I didn't know it had a design either.
I would have used a less bright tack tho.
God Bless!
Gorgeous! And a very well equipped shop!
The little vacuum looking thing and cold hammer were so cool to see, among other tools.
I love how you retained the character of the bench and make it look beautiful again. Great job.
Restoring one piece at a time. These older creations have more craftsmanship and style than any of today's stuff. Beautiful!
I love it that you left it’s character and still made it beautiful again. It’s glowing!❤️🐝🤗
A pleasure to watch the love you put into restoring this piece of history. I loved the finished bench.
Oh my goodness Ahti, what restoration you have done. I know I’ve said this many times but your awesome! I had no idea that there was a design on those seats. You using that cool machine of yours definitely did it’s job.

Oh! It's beautiful!
Perfectly imperfect ! OLD gal shows her age but not all her battle scars. Imagine the stories she could tell ! Love this piece. You are a genius in restoration. Thank you .
Very impressive restoration! Hard to believe a bench from a train station could survive since 1940. Thanks for saving part of history.
Нравится наблюдать за вашей работой: никакой суеты, ни одного лишнего движения. И, как всегда, великолепный результат!
I agree that this is one of the neatest furniture restoration sites going ! Congratulations and do not stop posting please.
Marvellous job, Ahti. I can imagine the buzz you get when you see the owner's joy and surprise on their face, seeing their piece restored. Who knows how many viewers have been inspired to take up cabinet making after watching your videos. Cheers, mate.
I used ti refinish for an antique dealer 30 years ago. I loved doing stuff like the top grooves on the top of the bench back! ITS SO SATISFYING!!!😅
Great job!
I cant believe that those thin seats weren't broken beyond repair after all those years.
The printing was a work of genius.
My dad was a carpenter, he started as a journeyman at six years of age... if he were still alive he would have greatly appreciated your way of working, very attentive and professional... a true craftsman, in the best sense of the word
So glad to see the small details in this station bench! So glad you cared for them!
Labor of love right there.
Fantastic cleaning job! And what a beautiful result! Anyone would be proud to have it in their home or office.
I would buy it in a heartbeat ❤
I love when you do these because you don't take the age and history out of a piece. It's beautiful and STILL shows it's had a long life.
If I only viewed the before and after photos, I would have wondered if this was the same piece. Watching the transformation, start to finish was amazing. It is a different as day is to night. Good job.
What a sensitive aesthetic restoration. It's a beautiful piece of railroading history.
It us amazing how much original wood you are able to keep in each piece. the laser printing was certainly inspired.
His workshop is always so clean ❤
You have to appreciate the literal hours it took to make it, mostly by hand, and you preserving someone’s s work is so admirable!!
Loved the redo. looks great. Thanks.
What a beautiful transformation. I especially love the different glues, stains and shellac. So much skill and work with such a glorious final finished piece of history.
great restoration, brightened but preserved, cheers!!!
I am amazed at the detail that was hidden by all of that dirt. I am glad you kept the character of the piece and didn’t restore it to look like new.
Patina is the history of its life.
Beautiful work. The original craftsman would be proud.
Очередная прекрасная реставрация и очередной лайк и восхищение вашими проектами и мастерством!
I love old furniture there is such great craftmanship in the making of these pieces. Very solid and beautiful in detail. Modern furniture won't last the time.

Brilliant work! Very enjoyable video. Thank you! 😊
I love that dimple effect on the back panels. Really clever how you restored this one Ahti and love these new toys!
Would the backs originally have the Russian imperial seal, given that these benches originally date to that era?
I have a garden bench with back legs rotted at the bottom. I wasn't sure the best way to fix them, now I do thanks.
Добрый день!
Как всегда великолепно! Ваши ролики нечасты и долгожданны, проекты интересны и сложны.
Искренне желаю сложных задач и успешных их решений!
As always an amazing transformation! Beautiful. These skills are for everybody to keep close to heart. New generations has to be taught and live on 🌐

What a beautiful restoration. And so much work involved! I admire you. Thanks for sharing this.
From filthy to super nice. Absolutely lovely word again. Is there anything you can't restore?
The finish on the back rests and the seats from a distance looks like antique leather. Very nice work. Thanks for doing it
I could just smell the years of smoke, steam and hot oil as you were cleaning it. Fine job, and a nostalgia trip for me.
I really respect that as much of the old, with all its scars, was kept as possible. Antique furniture, especially a railroad bench, has a reminder of everyone whoever sat in it. Every scratch, every dent is a piece of history.

So glad to see all the old pieces being restored. Thank you for all your hard work and thoughtfulness.
It is almost unbelievable - that this is even possible. Bravo!!! The finished piece is beautiful, and still has character.
I loved watching the artwork on those back panels come back and be duplicated. That's to me what made the bench something more than a basic bench. That touch of artwork on the seats and back. Nice work.
