Hello friends, this is a special project, this piece is about 500 years old, it is made of the wood of the Urs tree, the wood is very hard, beautiful and durable. The carpenter of this piece created the pieces of this chest with the woodworking tools of that time, such as the wood ax and the caveman, each of these pieces is unique and smooth from the outside and carved in a special way from the inside (this is a Can there be a reason, you tell me?), the carpenter made this chest without nails and wooden pins and every nail in the body of this chest was hammered to secure the chest in time, and we will return this chest to its original state.
This house is 1200 years old, which was destroyed three times for some reason, and the last reconstruction was 500 years ago. It is made of earth and wood. No one has lived in this house for about 40 years. My only wish was to restore this house. The purpose of forming this channel was to restoration this house, which was not done after two years...
Thank you for helping us by sharing and liking this video...

Interesting video and a good restoration but as a chemist I did raise my eyebrows at your home made cleaning solution. Without going into the chemical equations, what you are doing is adding two acids to an alkali with the result that you are simply creating some pretty inert sodium salts in a neutral solution. The fluid you produce isn't cleaning the furniture, it's simply the action of you agitating the wet surface with wire wool to dislodge the dirt. You would be far better off, and it would be far cheaper, to use a mild detergent. Don't waste money when you don't have to.
Thanks my friend, I didn't check it in terms of chemistry, but this solution worked well, the old solution was white vinegar and baking soda, I added the rest myself...
Shouldn't be using "wire wool" when cleaning wood. Small bits can remain, which may rust.
New England folk info includes the vinegar/baking soda trick with a comment that the effervescence works to lift dirt. The Coca Cola additive is also folk based after WWii, when experiential learning showed that it would lift the finish off of most anything.
As loung as the person is happy with what he or she as workt on i dont see a problum it looks amazing job to me👍😁
@@CreativeIdeasMaker I'm no chemist but since baking soda is basic and vinegar is acidic, I would guess you'd have the same problem of them neutralizing each other and becoming useless.
A master craftman smiles down from heaven. Thank you.
Thank you for watching the video of the restoration of our chest with your nice comment...
Согласна с вами. Я тоже всегда думаю о старых мастерах, которые делали эти вещи. Они вкладывали любовь и энергию в работу.
Restoring that house would be a major video as well - amazing it's still even standing. Nice restoration.
Yes, it will definitely be great, if you wait a little we will definitely restore it, thank you my friend...

The wood has such an amazing pattern in with the lighter flecks. Such a nice piece. You should keep the hand forged nails and display them some where. Those are another treasure.
I am very happy when I see how much attention people like you pay to the design and elegance of wood. You are exactly right, we should use wooden pins like in the beginning of its construction, and we enjoy seeing this box with such wood every day.
Great video. No unnecessary talking n, thankfully, no annoying music. Great restoration, too. 👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺

Like the figuring in the wood. Those trees are cool. Like living fossils. Great job restoring this so it can be appreciated again.
These trees are really living fossils, thank you my friend...
I was looking closely to to figure of the wood and I think I have a ring made out of the same wood! Not positive, but it is dark with the very light 'spots' in it! I love the ring and that chest is just as beautiful!! 😍😍

Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful job ❤️⭐️🇨🇦 my Dad built my kitchen table many years ago. All pegged, no nails, my greatest treasure
Thank you, my friend, surely your father made this table for you with all his love, woodworking without nails is loving woodworking, that table is precious...
You restored this chest without destroying it's wonderful history. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment dear friend. Yes, its exact date was very important to us, and that's why we removed all the metal nails that were added to this box during different periods.

@@joeb4142 it’s definitely worthy of a place in any museum for sure 👍
I don't care if it is500years old or not. The fact is, you can see its extremely old regardless! I've never seen any one completely deconstruct a piece of furniture before, and with such care. What a fascinating video this was to watch. Thank you for posting and sharing. What a wonderful job you did too!
Thank you for your comment my friend. Sometimes it can be seen that some friends criticize why you didn't do a certain work and such words, but the goal was to restore a furniture according to the traditional carpentry instructions of that time, and we have no fear of completely opening the furniture. We didn't because we knew what to do
Thank you my friend, we are happy that you are watching our video, I hope to share better videos for you...
Nicely done . I make furniture from old distressed timber and pallets and often repair split or broken bits before using them. I call it the relaxed beauty of old wood.
I avoid using nails and screws and rely on glue and exposed dowels. The age of the piece and the age of the wood always provides warmth and beauty
Wow, I admire you, if you have a channel let me know where we can use more of your experiences, I look forward to seeing your work. I am happy that friends like you are watching my channel...
Fabulous, absolutely fabulous. Best restoration I've ever watched. Preservation at it's best.

Truly amazing.
I am proud of your comment. It is an indescribable feeling that you understand well that we are rebuilding and reviving the constructions and tools of our ancestors. Thank you for your support, my dear friend
Watching you restore something so old & damaged into such a beautiful historical piece was actually very calming. Creating & using the wood pins, the sawdust, low chemical cleaning & sealing solutions shows how much respect you have for this. I'm glad I stumbled upon this episode and look forward to watching your talent bloom!
Thank you for your kind opinion, you are kind, I hope to provide you with good moments...
Absolutely beautiful. I've wanted to try building a piece of furniture with dowels and few to no nails and you showed me how to restore that way. Thank you.
I'm glad the chest restoration video was useful for you, thank you too...
Trees and their beautiful wood has called to from as long as I can remember. What wonderful craftsmanship, and amazing work you have done on this magnificent timeless piece. A short write-up needs to be placed inside so history wont be lost in the future.
Thank you my friend, you gave me an interesting idea, I will definitely do this...
Thank you. This was a trip to Italy for me. The tree, thst house, that chest, your work without words in sound, except for the birds and tools. Grazie. Multi bene.

I love that you kept the integrity of the furniture intact with minimal interference... brilliant job
As you can see in the video, this box has been attacked with iron nails during different periods, but we tried to pull them out from the box and use the old connections.
@petermages9482
@janaj.8696
If you are a carpenter and have information about the types of connections, you will realize that at the beginning of its construction, this box used only wooden connections and wooden pins, but then some iron nails were added to it, which are from several hundred years ago, and then nails It has been ironed that these two types of iron nails have destroyed the originality of this fund. My reasons for proving the age of these items are: documents and writings about the house 2- Many of its furniture and equipment are kept in the museum 3- The wood worked in this box, which you can be sure you will not be able to find from a few hundred years ago.
@@CreativeIdeasMaker Thank you so much for your friendly reply! Much appreciated! Vielen Dank fuer Ihre Antwort!

I love watching old furniture restored. This is the oldest one I've seen. It was just incredible how it was originally put together. Bravo for restoring it with the same methods and care. The sesame oil really made it look gorgeous. I love the old chain used to open and close the dresser then "lock" it. Amazing!❤😊

It's amazing to find a rare ancient piece of furniture. I am surprised at how old it is. Thank you for your time and incredible skill to carefully take apart and put it back together. I mean fixing all the issues that needed attention. May it be perserved for another five hundred years or more. 😊
We're glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your support of this remake video
If ever a piece of furniture could jump for joy, it is this exquisite piece. Your care and dedication to maintaining as much of the original wood as possible made watching this video a delight, indeed. Your use of the original sandings and "filings" as fillers....BRILLIANT! I hope you keep this piece and give it the love it so richly deserves.
Thank you for your very nice comment. Of course, because of the history of this chest, we have restored it and tried to use the traditional woodwork of the time and removed the extra iron nails that were added to it, which distorted the originality of the chest. I'm glad you enjoyed the skills and techniques used in this video.

Fantastic work I love old furniture when it’s brought back to life.
Thanks my friend, so follow our channel
Brought it back to life??!!!!
It was never dead!!! Was it!!???
Several hundred years were simply removed. Obliterated. Erased. And tossed away. Unfortunately
Big difference between repairs, restoration and conservation!!!
Conservation is the least intrusive but much more honest and least destructive of the methods for preservation.
A 500 year old piece should not look 100 years old, now should it?
A 80 year old woman with a tight, new face lift, so she looks 60, is just not attractive. It fools no one!
It just looks bizarre! Tragic even!!!
There is nothing wrong with something looking its age. Whether it is in human form or something someone has made. Or something from nature---- an old tree, a rock formation, or fossils.
I honestly preferred the chest before he gave it the 'face lift'!
What a fabulous piece. So interesting to watch this. That sawdust and glue truck gets me every time!!
This sanding machine sometimes breaks down to give me variety and I like it because it tells me to work less than I do :)
Your coke and baking soda mixture does a marvellous job! Impressive to see such a robust piece of furniture being so respectfully restored. I also love the way you replace bits of wood and make sesame oil by magic!
Thank you my friend, we are glad that our chest restoration video was useful for you...

that's kind of you. We are trying to demonstrate useful techniques and skills in reconstruction.
Woodworking at its best. Impressed an entertained. Thanks.
Thankful...
What a beautiful restoration work. I only wish its centuries-old patina had not been stripped away. 90& of its value as an antique was lost with the sanding. Sad to see it gone. A deep cleansing would've given it the same finish but without the permanent damage. I gladly subscribe to your channel, knowing that practice and error make the master. Thanks for sharing the detailed process of your work. Good luck. Cheers
I am very happy that enthusiasts like you are concerned about history and give us detailed expert tips. If you have noticed, there were two chests of this style in the video, we have removed the bigger chest and the smaller chest was healthy and there was no need to remove the patina on it, but the bigger chest suffered burns in several areas during these hundreds of years. Also, holes have been created by modern iron nails and we have tried to fix them and give life to this box again.
Beautiful work as you repaired this ancient chest using age-old methods. Then right at the end, you used an electric saw that left burn marks on the ends of the lid. Wish you had left it alone. The overhang gave the piece character.
Thank you, my friend, you are right, it was extra work, the burn was due to the hardness of the wood, it didn't go away even with sandpaper, I didn't want to damage it more...
Amazing job, well done. So much patience and attention to detail. Congratulations on your work!!
We are very grateful for your kind opinion
That was an absolutely fascinating video. I often skip ahead on videos of furniture restoration; but this one was so interesting that i watched every minute of it. The construction of the chest was wonderful; the wood was wonderful; and your work was wonderful. Thank you.

Beautiful work...I am so impressed. Thank you ❤
Thank you too!
I enjoyed the 'deconstruction' and reconstruction! I have never seen sesame oil being used and the finish is beautiful. Love from Nova Scotia, Canada
Hello, my Canadian friend, I did this in the style of our ancestors, I want to say what no one said! I did not apply sesame oil inside the chest, there is a reason, this chest is a smart chest, if the parts of this chest loosen after a while, by splashing water inside it, the whole chest will be strengthened, I will give you a special piece of an ancient carpenter. I submitted, you will understand this issue by taking a close look at the structure of the parts of this chest...
An Absolutely Amazing! Restoration! 😉👍
Thank you for your comment and support
Gorgeous
Thank you for your kind attention
Beautiful job. Thank you, (and good luck on the old house itself, stay safe under that old propped up roof! looking forward to see how you make it happen !)
The old nails at least kept the piece in use and not ending up in the fireplace! Lovely to see it fixed and put back together as done by the first maker.
if you can get ahold of one, a hypodermic needle/ syringe makes a great tool for getting glue into slim or tiny places a bit more easily. Just rinse them out immediately!
You may find a specialty glue syringe at a big tool store, depending on your closeness to a big city. (or if it can be ordered online and delivered nearby to you)
But a thin knife does work, and the thread/dental floss was a great idea to spread the glue. We save old toothbrushes to use for larger areas, lol .
Old- fashioned hide glue I have seen used in restorations, as being almost identical to what would have been used originally long ago (if they were indeed gluing any areas at all !)
Thank you, my friend, for your meaningful comment, the reconstruction of this house is very expensive, we cannot afford it, but I will try my best.
I am still thinking about the carpenter's masterpiece, special wood, special skill, special chest. (You must have noticed that I did not oil the inside of the chest, the reason is that our carpenter wets the curved parts of the chest by adding water, the curvature of the parts increases and the chest becomes stronger)
About the syringe and the carpenter's knife, I will definitely get it.
It was an old glue for this wood, it didn't work very well, but it was great with this glue. I didn't try the skin glue
Thank you for your comments, guidance and support, have fun...
Браво мастеру!

Thank you for watching our chest restoration video
Absolutely amazing!!
thanks my dear friend...
It's a lovely piece. Was it a grain chest? One suggestion.... since sesame oil is not a great long lasting finish, have you consider applying a high quality hard wax over the oil or other longer lasting finishing technique. It may be the sesame oil was commonly used on furniture when this piece was made, but a longer lasting finish will give it more protection.
If we wanted to renovate in today's style, yes, we could use very high quality coatings, but the important thing is about the wood you use. This type of wood was covered with this sesame oil in the past because of its penetration into the wood and because of the color and gloss it gives to the wood.
I genuinely enjoyed watching the video. Regardless of the article’s age, made, quality etc, I believe restoration alone is quite a tedious process and requires a lot of patience , focus and aptitude for the procedure. You have done an amazing job on the chest. I appreciate the fact that u did nt cut any corners during the process and cleaned every bit of the article. For me personally sanding the old piece is preferable as it takes out a layer of dirt, gunk, wood warm damage and nasty marks. Loved what you have done. Keep up the good work.
PS. I found the coca cola part very funny. 😅
Thank you for your meaningful comment, I thank you for understanding and supporting us.
This chest was very dirty and had burn marks, sanding (in this case) alone could not remove the dirt from this chest.
Coca-Cola is great at cleaning...
This was amazing!
