- This is my reaction to the two Silent Hill trailers that was in the State of Play by Playstation. I commented a bit on James' looks. I have played through Silent Hill 2 and I really loved it! I even did a Maria cosplay on my Twitch stream.

The funny thing about you pointing out how young James looks is that they had him looking way older in the first Silent Hill 2 remake trailer. Dude looked like he was 45 in that trailer. Between then and now, I guess they decided to turn back the clock on his face model.

Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. So naturally I have high hopes for the remake. The combat was never the strength of Silent Hill 2, if you remember it was pretty stiff, James just awkwardly swung a stick at enemies. In the remake combat looks faster and more fluent, overall it just looks like there's more going on, which I think is a good thing. That being said, while the production and graphics look solid they aren't blowing me away either. The way the character walks and looks from the back is a bit strange. Hopefully they work on that before release.
James was a design choice, they aged him a little. But it wouldn't make sense if they didn't age the little girl Laura, or Maria, Eddie etc
I’m sorry but it has to be said everyone analyzing James face saying they preferred how he looked is over analyzing. The Leon Kennedys cousin comment is accurate cause from what I heard if the original on release is that many people thought James had a Leon Kennedy look to him. And he does given the games of that area , why you say cause the tech was limited even if James was supposed to have a more distinct look the limitations prevent much detail you can’t really make out how James is supposed to look. In great detail it’s like people giving eye witness state you get some general detail but not much to go on that or everyone has totally different recollections of how he looked someone said he looks very ambiguous in the original. Now she’s saying that she liked how he looked as if you can clearly tell how he looked. I’ve personally always thought James just looked like an older Leon personally there’s nothing wrong with that.

I hope they make Silent Hill 2 woke because it would ironically be scary.
Very disappointed what they showed, silent hill series one of my fav series, pretty much best games were silent hill 1,2,3 and 4, after it series went downhill, i wish someone made something similar to it, big fan of psychological horror games. never expect good game from Konami, they're worst in this business
