- HELLO THIS GAME LOOKS COOL. I really like Death Stranding but the story isn't something that I really dived into, so if I ask any stupid questions about the lore, I genuinely don't know lol. Feel free to answer them! I do want to look into it and learn, because DS2's story seems like it might be something I'd be more attached to. Also dmc3 guitar sword let's gooooo.

This trailer was awesome, but I was hoping it would clear up some of my confusion from the first trailer, instead it just left me more confused. This made me realize that one of the great things about the first game was the fact that I went into it knowing much less about it than other games. The way Kojima was able to re-create that same feeling shows how much of a master he is.
They're blue when the ship is navigating thru the tar, or they're on the "beach". If you recall, Sam was blue DS1 when he was stuck on the beach.
Being blue is an allegory tro being either dead or on the otherside. I'm guessing the ship (Magellan) sinks into the tar to navigate undetectedf (the tar is linked to the other side)
oooo makes sense. Appreciate it! I like Death Stranding a lot but I never really looked further into the story than what was at face value. Guess i should start doing that now because DS2's story is looking like something I might get invested a bit more.
@@Runebee You might want to look up "Lucy's Interviews". Die-Hardman actor is reading the whole stuff out loud in a 1.5h long youtube video, which also contains the pre-amble that most (all?) players obtain. Some get parts of it. Very few get the complete set. It's the most hidden secret in the game. With such deep implications it changes everything you thought you knew (about who BB-28 is). The post real credit mini reveal is part of this. Several players notice the fact that once Lisa/Stillmother is killed -> Sam snapping out of the memories because BB dies -> the final cutscene starts out in the Seam. Did Sam just repatriate? But Sam isn't made a repatriate by Amelie - using doll tech - until the very last. How could this possibly be? Oh, Cliff is involved too - "can't go get myself killed anymore", memories from three wars, always able to bring the squad back, and have this mysterious C-section and obsession with dolls... Hmm...
Forming this narrative, go watch the game again, several times over, to see how many well hidden clues actually supports this narrative. Don't forget a handful of red herrings are being thrown our way too.

Kojima is a master at his craft, and his trailers are always absolutely stellar. And can I just mention the music? There was like 3 times in the trailer the Death Stranding melody gave me goosebumps.

At some point after the release of Snake Eater, Kojima became this Lynchian/Cronenbergian artistic cutscene director we call Kojimbo.

The gameplay is unique, and the exact opposite of the fast paced modern games we know. You're in for several hours of complex cutscenes, heavy reading in the codex and a LOT of just "admirative" gameplay. If you have a PS5 or a good gaming PC you'll enjoy every pixel of your screen, + it's insanely well optimized. Just beware of the extremely unique gameplay

Blue because they are in the beach world, just like Sam in the first DS.
On 1:32, they're bluish gray because the reflection/shine of light suggests that they are probably submerged on fluid that monochromes everything. Probably under a tar pit since the ship submerges to tar as shown on 4:29.
And here I thought the first game was crazy, this one even crazier, my mouth was open..lol

It's not meant to please you, DS1 was a bit more safe just to get the green light in order to get Hideo go Full Kojima in DS 2 and actually everyone but you is 100% here for it
