"As you are now, you stand no chance against Raven Beak, but only because your weapons cannot damage him. The moment you upgrade your Beam Canon, he doesn't have a prayer."
The true mark of mastery is when someone says: you make that look easy. Congratulations, you made that look easy. I finally worked up the courage to attempt Dread Mode. I never thought I'd make it as far as I have, but the idea of skipping any save room blows my mind
@@MrHighwind Aw man, I used the speed boost trick, but that still took a while, because it's just so erratic. I got to Experiment z-57 and I know I can make it to the running portion, but every time, one of the walls of beams gets me, and I just put it down for a while
I subbed for 2 reasons. First, I appreciate the time effort put into optimizing your run for no damage and 100% and not getting lost or anything of that nature. As someone who's played this game a fair amount, goddamn, I'd almost think you're a dev for how well you did on this run. Raven on dread, good lord. 2nd reason... all the littke and random slide noises you put in throughout 😂 One that first one around 5 minutes I think, I did a rewind just to make sure I heard it right lol. Sure enough. Then you put them in seemingly random points as well. Love it 😂
I completed Dread Mode and took a bit of damage somehow. I think it's because when I was destroying the Central Unit, one of the rings hit me after the Central Unit was taken out. There was knockback, but I didn't die.
That's interesting. I think touching lava without Gravity Suit and using the Phantom Cloak for too long can deplete your health without killing you in Dread Mode.
@@polistrix It was weird. After completing Dread Mode, the results screen showed that I had taken damage, which shouldn't be possible. The fire kills, so I believe the lava is instant death, too. I don't know what happens if you go in heated or cold rooms. 🤔
@@uffevonlauterbach heated and cold rooms will still deplete your HP, and I do believe the lava falls under that same category as well I could be wrong abt the lava part, but passive damage is still a thing in dread mode!
Just what caused raven beak to turn pure evil in the first place and why exactly did samus go into such a berserk fit of murderous rage after being subdued by raven beak during the boss battle against him and just what exactly causes the metroids to behave violently towards the presence of the mawkin species of the chozo?
Raven Beak is of the Mawkin Tribe, a tribe that believes in Might Makes Right. They wanted to use the Metroids as a bioweapon to conquer other worlds and bring them to submission. However, the Thoha Clan, the ones who manufactured the Metroids, used their genetic crafting genius to literally make the Metroids react violently to the Mawkin; this is why, when Raven Beak reveals his plan to capture Samus and replicate her as the "Last Metroid," her Metroid DNA, given to her by the X-Vaccine during Metroid Fusion, fully awakens, transforming her biomechanical power suit into the Metroid Suit. Raven Beak was always vicious, cruel and power hungry. He was always wicked and "worshipped at the throne of power." He's the type of BBEG that believes nobody else can rule as well as he can, or be as strong as him. It's revealed in the lore of the series that Samus was adopted by the Chozo as a child after Ridley and the Space Pirates destroyed her home and killed her parents in front of her. To help her survive the harsh environs of Planet Zebes, they infused her with Chozo DNA; both Mawkin and Thoha. Raven Beak was the donor for her Mawkin DNA, which is why he calls her "daughter."
Handled the light-blue Emmi like it was nothing. Of course I can't bomb jump for my life in this game. There's no way I'll be able to repeat that method. I should just delete the save file as I will never come back and get passed that point.
@@polistrix I need to watch more strategy videos. I was playing when the game was fresh so there wasn't much to help players with it. I need to bite the bullet and restart on easy.
Dude, HOW!? i can only get the minimum of 6 deaths how did you do deathless man i die to every little thing. The shrimp enemies in Cataris that go below your shots, and corpius counter failing. I seriously try almost everyday and rage quit each time, im so upset that this may just be impossible. Just when i think ive got it, i get a horrible enemy rng and i die
Just takes practice. If you keep at it you will eventually get it. I think I had put roughly 270 hours into the game when I finally got this run. For Corpius I just keep going for the head; even when it's invisible. I recommend using the Boss Rush Mode for practice. It made a huge difference for me.
Now the real question, how long did it take you to do this perfect run? (As in how many runs did you need to get the complete run strated out) Cuz i started a dread mode run and havent touched it since i beat the boss at the lava furnace and my death counter is like in the hundreds.
Raven Beak had Quiet Robe hack the Emmi robots, that or he did it himself, either fits. There's an image you can unlock as a result of 100%ing one of the areas (don't remember which one but I think it's the first one) that shows Raven Beak standing over the damaged Emmi (the first one encountered) with it's severed arm in his hand. (Looked up the image) Raven Beak's canon is smoking, as is the Emmi's entire body, indicating he'd shot it with the laser he uses during his fight. Also, the severed arm isn't cut cleanly, indicated by the sparks on the arm where it would be connected to the rest of it, meaning he either ripped it off the Emmi with sheer brute strength or weakened it enough with the blast to do so.
Underrate video! Also... 1:01:32 I've never heard that sound effect or seen that message before.... It gives me the chills~! ❤ 3:06:25 Congratulations!
The last time the real Adam speaks to Samus is at the beginning cutscene, just before Samus meets Raven Beak. Save for when she gets back in her ship, every other time its Raven Beak speaking through a fake Adam
@@personguy2262It's actually like that for the entire game. ADAM mentions that the connection sucks and suggests to connect him to a network station. However, as soon as you do that, he'll never reply with "Any objections, lady?" as he usually does - most likely because Raven Beak doesn’t know that.
A reminder that Samus is actually the scariest thing in Metroid
This is the most accurate take about Metroid I've ever seen
Once you get almost half her power ups back. She is the danger
She is THE metroid, after all.
If Kirby ate Metroid suit Samus, the Multiverse is doomed.
