- Decided to try to build a kayak trailer out of a utility trailer so I would be able to haul 2 or 3 kayaks easily

I have owned an On The Water Inovation kayak trailer for a year. I have been out more that 100 times with this trailer and it is the only way to move around.
Same here. I love mine. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
i have heard they are good, probabaly will have to get one sooon
My only suggestion is a way to lock your kayaks down. The easier to take, the more likely to be stolen. I've known guys who've had their entire trailers stolen while they slept in a motel.
This was awesome to watch since I don't know how to fix anything!!! I'm 38 years old and still rely on my 77 year old dad to fix things!!! Wish I had your skills Jon!!
John, you truly are a handyman! You are like my Dad No matter what the task you can figure it out. I really like this video reminds me when my dad converted a school bus into a camper. For mom and dad and 7 kids.
Looks pretty good to me Brother 🤠! I would probably make the top a little lower just to help with stability that being said really like the PVC tracks 😊, Super ideal!! Thanks again for everything 🙏
Think about a side tool box so could carry paddles in it.
Triangular bracing for the upper deck helps the stability issue. You might want to cap the front of the PVC tubes on the lower deck, or maybe drill a weep hole in the back caps (water drain). Thanks for sharing the build.
Thanks for the tip! i was thinking i might need weep holes in it
Really nice build
It works for what you built it for, so thats all that matters, John! Might suggest screwing some diagonal braces to keep it from shifting with the weight of two kayaks up there. Hate to see you go around a corner and have it break!
Nice Upgrade, noticed the upper deck could be lower. It just needs to be high enough for the seat on your lower run to clear. Save your back you only have one.
Didn’t even know you had this channel. As long as I’ve been watching the other I’m surprised this is just now popping up in my recommended
just something i put random videos on
Very cool
Nice trailer build you can get some small tool boxes and put to the front sides of the kayak I am hoping I can get a kayak by next summer I really want to get back on the water
I wish I had the space for a trailer. I’d love to do one of these projects
Good video John. What vehicles you currently driving? The Ram and a Suburban? That old Chevy? Using PVC is like building with Legos. Nice.
all sometimes, i need to sell one or 2
Good idea. Should not have cut cross bar on trailer. A buddy did that for an ice fishing trailer, it made 4 trips and trailer broke in half.....note it was a new trailer also.
John your trailer look great ,how ever you should brace the uper part a little more contact a carpener to look at it and heip you out ,great job anyway thank you for your videos.
Let's go 👊
I would skip all that, don't advertise what's on the trailer, get a enclosed trailer, 8x16, that's what I would do!👍
Will your sister be selling these on your website, now?
yep made to order haha
