LOVE IT!!!!! We have a 10 and 12 footer. Will be doing ours this way this weekend. Thank you for making this vkdeo! 😀
Awesome. Thanks for watching. It works out well for us. Drives well too. I live about 8-10 miles from my lake. Bumpy side roads. Then a road I can dive about 65 mph on for several minutes. Handles well.
Very nice build. I just found a B&S sportsman trailer awhile back and am building it out currently. Amazing trailers for sure. Setting it up with a ladder rack making them sit over/under.
Thanks! The trailer you are building sound like it will be very good! I hope it works out well for you. I appreciate your comment and watch time!
Awesome job! I need to fix my trailer to hold both my kayaks
You can do it! I appreciate you watching my video! Thank you for your support and kindness!
Two things. You will probably want some fenders to keep debris from hitting the bottom of your kayaks. Also with the amount of overhang you have at the back of the trailer, your lights might be difficult to see.
Great build. The only issue is you overlooked the guide-on and blind aspect issue when navigating the trailer in reverse. You can not actually see the trailer while driving backward so a visual reference point is needed.
I can see the trailer. I have a back up camera. But because of that, I did overlook that. I actually was going to build a guide to see it. Might be an additional project soon. Thanks, you are an observant person. I appreciate that.
Thanks for sharing this . I love the way you did this build out. I'm looking to do the same for my 2 fishing kayaks. Just wondering where you purchased the brackets to attach the 2*6s vertical to the 2*10.
@@rjguess thanks for you quick response. It looks like in the video you had 2 black u brackets that you attached to the bunk boards. If not how did you attach them to the 2 cross boards?
Those two black U brackets are what originally held the two 2x4’s. I cut them in half. Made 4 of them. I just used wood screws and attached to the 2x6. Painted over them to prevent rust.
@@ericlewin2086 you are most welcome. I hope you get this accomplished. Thank you for watching my video! I appreciate it much!
Could that been made to fit 3 kayaks if using 2x6's across with pvc running the length for all 3?
I’m sure it could be. I’ve seen some of these modified to stack 3 on top of each other also.
Very well done. I’m going to set up a trailer for two kayaks too. I was wondering if you ever tow just one kayak and if the load being just on one side was an issue?
I’ve done it twice and have not had any issues. Though I was concerned about it while driving.
@@rjguess Thanks for the reply!
Problem solved! My wife finally wants a Hobie too, so we’re going to need a bigger trailer. I’m having one built locally.
Nice 🤟
I'm looking to do the same or buy a double Jetski trailer.
From what I've read, you don't need to register any trailer in Texas that has a 4000 total weight capacity. .
Is this true or have you heard of this?
I'm finding trailers but no titles. I'm curious if I can homemade it & if I do have to register it, will TP&W register it?
Thanks & Tight Lines 🤟
Good questions. I live in Oklahoma so I am not too familiar with Texas trailer laws. But here in Oklahoma you don’t need to register trailers like this. I had a 17.5 foot bad tracker a few years ago. That trailer it came on was not registered. I see makeshift trailers all over these parts. I wish I had a better answer for you. Thanks for watching my video! Tight Lines to you bro!
I'm half way through the video...
I hope you didn't make it wider than your gate.
Plus... I think there's a limit to how far you can extend past the sides....
I'll keep watching.😊
It fits through my gate just fine! I made sure of that! Lol. Thanks for watching. I never expect anyone to watch the entire video. But I do appreciate that! It actually isn’t much wider that having a bass tracker boat.

You sanded galvanized with no breathing protection??? No fenders here is illegal.
I was outside in a well ventilated area with wind blowing. I do appreciate your concern for my health and safety though. That is very kind. It’s not illegal here as far as I know. But I did plan on putting some fenders on it. I sold it a week ago though.
@@rjguess I retired from a safety co. You don’t sand that stuff without a respirator.
@@psracefan i understand that now. I would make you happy (I hope) by telling you that…I recently bought an aluminum boat. I am rebuilding it. My wife bought me a respirator mask to wear. I do wear it when I sand or bring it.
Thanks Rj!! Definitely going to mirror this setup it’s exactly what I was looking for when I came on here for DIY vids 🔥🔥🔥
Great! Thanks for watching. You will enjoy it!!!
