my boyfriend is having this issue now and unfortunately it didnt fix it!! we checked the fuse and it was blown so we replaced it but it still wont work, his mileage has been blinking as well and occasionally the side buttons on the radio will flash light quickly. his ac and everything works fine, but the usb plugs are the only things that dont work. we also tried using the code reader thing and it said everything was fine. any thoughts? 😭
Unfortunately it sounds like the screen needs to be replaced. I would go to a aftermarket audio shop and see what they say. The dealer will charge you just to look at it, probably can get some guidance from the audio shop for free.

@@TheLawnEngineermany others not just me have had problems with u connect. And trying many of the tips dont work. My carplay wired in has stopped working and note the usb outlet shows zero charging as well. Clueless dealer mechanic was clueless as well. He said there are other modules that need to be checked. I know it will cost me in the hundreds. I replaced usb module, have good data wires, checked fuses, did some sort of reset that caused cameras to stop working and other issues. Others said if u wait a day they will correct. But try selling a vehicle where u tell them carplay won’t work. No bumper to bumper warranty remaining
You saved the day! I did the fuse method with no problems and I am back using my back up camera and radio. I could live without radio till he got home but I have neck issues and cannot turn around enough to back up. I am working in different offices the next two days who knows what tight space I will be in. Thank you for this video which saved us money and gave me one less thing to stress about.

You’re now my 2017 Pacifica guru, as you seem to have fixes for every problem I encountered on this wonderfully designed piece of mechanical garbage. As a broke Uber driver I live intermittently in this van, the only model I could convert at night into a bedroom, sleeping in a hammock hanging from right side front window to left rear lift-gate hinge. By day nothing shows my secret, but it’s made the car instrumental to my well-being. Thank you for finding solutions for problems that stumped and I was told would cost me thousands to fix. Subscribed out of loyalty, not for the mowers.

There’s a much easier way just hold the power button down for 15 seconds and it will reset the radio
Hello. I just encountered a blank U-Connect screen and an inoperable climate control module today on my 2013 Chrysler 300. I found your video and tried the fuse method. There is no dedicated fuse for U-Connect on my model so I took out about 4 different fuses that may be related to the U-Connect screen: Radio, Center Stack Power, Camera/Compass, etc. I took them out, examined them, and went a step further by cleaning/scouring them to expose a fresh connection surface on the fuse blades. Put all of them back and SHA-ZAM!!! Everything working again! THANK YOU. Much appreciated.

I have a 2015 jeep grand Cherokee overland and I’m getting the blue screen evry time I put it on reverse for my back up camera and easy fixes for that
Unfortunately it sounds like the camera failed or the input on the screen went bad. I would try replacing the camera first. They are available on Amazon, starting around $75.

My 2018 Trailhawk suffers from the same problem but the fuse is not in the main fuse box. Instead of disconnecting the fuse, I installed a remote battery power disconnect. The UConnect systems can be reset with the remote switch easily. The reset does not address the root cause but replacing the Infotainment system would be costly (just the parts are over $2k) and I would likely end up with the same junk that fails after a while. It is terrible that Chrysler (now Stellantis) cannot make their cars with a reliable electrical system.
Thanks so much! I have been searching FOREVER on how to hard reboot the Uconnect system and nothing worked until this. It took 5 minutes and works like a charm. I just hope I don’t have to keep doing it. There’s something wrong when so many people have the same problem and the dealers have no idea what’s going on. Thanks again!

Mine has only required this reset once, so hopefully it isn’t reoccurring.

I tried cleaning a couple fuses and that made the traction control and ac buttons start working again but no luck with the screen it’s still just dead went to radio place they said I need a new screen for $1100 or $1400 which is stupid I ordered a used one on eBay I really hope it works I’m gonna try to do the fuses once again before any recommendations dude?
Unfortunately these screeens do go out. If the fuse reset hasn’t worked, you likely need new hardware.
My problem is the display constantly flashes. Everything works, but the flashing is annoying, so will this work for that problem too?
It’s worth a try but I haven’t heard of a case similar to yours.
Does your uconnect ever get stuck on radio? I tried resetting it pushing both buttons but issue remains. Wondering if this/pulling the fuse will fix it. It's happening a few times but intermittently. If I leave the car for at least 30 minutes it seems to correct itself and go back to normal.
I have not had that specific problem, but I would definitely start with pulling the fuse.

Hey my screen went blank in my 2014 Chrysler 300 and the ac control panel isn’t working. But my ac is still stuck on everytime I turn my car on. Can you give me any advice to fix it ? I’m going to check the fuse for the screen
Unfortunately, I don’t other than to disable the fan by pulling its fuse. Hopefully this gets your screen working so you can adjust the ac.
You saved my ass. I have a loaner 2019 Jeep Cherokee from the dealer that I’ve had for 2 days and know nothing about and at 9:30pm I was about to start a 2 hour trip back home from visiting family at a camp ground and really needed the apple carplay map to help me get out of “the middle of nowhere.” FYI there wasn’t a “Uconnect” fuse but the “radio” fuse F80 did the trick. Thank you!!!!

I have a 2012 300S and the screen went black this morning. HVAC defaulted to full on defrost and no AC. Mine didn't have a UConnect fuse either. Found the trunk fusebox had a fuse for screen (24) and one for HVAC cluster (32) pulled them both for a couple minutes. Put them back and it works perfect!

The shortcut settings are lost with the reset. You can add back the heated seat shortcut by finding it (apps) and dragging it down to the menu bar on the bottom.
Dodge is the worst manufacturer of automobiles in America. The dealership told me I had to buy a new radio, I told them no I don't. I don't need a radio.
All manufacturers have their issues with certain models and components. Dodge does seem to have more than the average amount of issues.
2015 Town & Country - just pulled the #30 in our case waited- started car and nothing. We have no sound no screen issue. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately, these units do completely fail occasionally. I would make sure it isn’t something silly like someone turned the screen off. Then I would look for an aftermarket replacement.

What about for a 2013 dodge charger? My screen is completely black.
I would disconnect the battery or pull the fuse for a few minutes. If that doesn’t work, the screen may be dead, that does happen occasionally.
I just checked my book. Uconnect nor DCSD (?) telematics is listed. I do have radio/cd listed. I tried that a while ago and it didn't work.
Radio/cd should be a right fuse for you. As a second try, I would disconnect the batter for a few minutes.
These units do occasionally fail, if these resets don't work you might need a new screen assembly.

Why is my 2015 Chrysler 200 keeps rebooting?
Most likely an internal problem with the screen. It’s possible that it is losing power intermittently, perhaps a poor ground?
Tried this today. But no luck. Seems to work for a few minutes than cut in and out. The screen goes completely back. And keeps restarting over and over. Any idea on what to do?
Unfortunately it sounds like your unit has failed. I would look for aftermarket replacements.
Thank you so much!! Single mom here. We just got back from a road trip yesterday. It was working just fine and after unloading my neighbor and pulling into my house the screen was blank! I tried to restart it, let it sit overnight, and tried it this morning, but still nothing. Thank you for this tip!!! It's working. This car has been in the shop 10 times in the past 12 months!!! I knew I couldn't afford this fix and of course, it wouldn't be under warranty! I am actually under a litigation contract for Lemon Law! I highly suggest you look into it if you have problems. They know they made mistakes and will pay for them.

I have no Uconnect when I turn the car on, no ac, no fans, no heated seats, no rear screen demister, no camera or parking sensors. But also on the dashboard I have my airbag light on, and with the engine turned on I lose my windows and mirrors. In fact the only things working are exterior lights and wipers. Gearbox, brakes, steering and engine are all fine. I replaced the TIPMS ( entire fusebox) had the battery checked, that is fine. So I am totally stumped as to whats going on. Any help greatly appreciated. It's a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit diesel

Have you tried the reset? If that doesn’t work, there likely is a hardware failure and the unit needs to be replaced.
I seen on a forum that you can hold down power button and browse button at same time ,i did that and it worked for me,good luck to all with this shitty problem.

The VES / Reverse camera / U connect screen on my 2009 Grand Caravan SXT has gone into a pixilated, washed-out condition 90% of the time.
Occasionally it’s perfect when I start up, then goes bad after a few minutes.
Usually, it’s bad on startup and stays that way, or very occasionally after a while it will turn good for an indeterminate period of time then go bad.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Is just the screen replaceable - If so, will any screen work or does it need to be out of a Satellite Radio enabled unit?
Unfortunately I don’t have any personal experience with screen replacements. Have you checked with an aftermarket stereo shop? I don’t know how many are left but they might be able to help.

I don’t know why to tell you except it might be easiest to replace the screen/radio with an aftermarket unit.
Brand new Jeep Compass 2022. Screen stopped working. Took it in and dealership said it needed to be updated. Ok, fine even though it's new. 5 days later the screen quit working again. Over the next year my screen would quit working about 50% of the time. I figured when my screen quits working, turn on my window wipers, turn Jeep off, turn Jeep back on and the screen works. Seriously, purely by accident I figured this out. I've been driving for several days without a screen working to figuring out that my wind shield wipers fix it if I turn my car off while they are on. Absolutely crazy. Maybe this might help someone?

Great video. Thanks. A big help. I have a Jeep Cherokee 2019 and the fuse was F80 and the fuse was called "MUSIC", not Uconnect. It rebooted my Uconnect and all my previous settings were still there. :) Also, only some vehicles with start/stop have a second battery. Jeep Grand Cherokee has 2nd battery but Jeep Cherokee only has one battery.

Unfortunately, it sounds like your screen is failing. I would investigate a screen replacement. There are aftermarket options that are much more affordable than the factor option. If you are not comfortable doing the replacement on your own, I would look for a car stereo shop in your area.
So the screen was blank.I was still able to see the meter when I turn up the air and also when I put in reverse but other than that it we go back to a blank screen did exactly what you instructed and now it works great thank you!

I don’t have any experience with Hyundai but I would try the same process. If you can’t find the correct fuse, disconnect the negative battery cable and let it sit for a few minutes.

Unfortunately you have to program the new screen to work with your vehicle. You may be able to do this yourself by going into “dealer” mode, look up videos on that. Most people take it to a dealer and let them configure the new screen.

You can disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes and have the same effect.
i bought a 2018 jeep GC with a broken screen, i replaced the screen but i only hear the radio and the screen is dark.
Unfortunately, I think you have to configure the new screen with a dealer scan tool.

It sounds like there is some kind of boot error. Unfortunately, if taking power off didn’t get it to reset there is likely a hardware failure.
I have a 2012 dodge grand caravan. I popped the screen off by accident. When I put it back on everything went black. My radio no longer works ect. Any ideas?
You may have a fuse in the power line that blew during the removal/replacement. Try to trace the power and look for fuses, hopefully that is what it is.
If nothing turns up there and you are sure it’s getting power, it may be worth popping the screen off again to make sure non of the pins in the connector bent and it’s fully seated.

Yes it’s UCONNECT access. You can use an app on your phone to control locks and see where your vehicle is. It’s a subscription service you can sign up for on your vehicle’s screen.

Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with screens in those years but it sounds like it might have failed.
The fuses should be labeled on the inside of the fuse block cover.
My connect randomly resets and takes a long time to come back on. 2008 Town & Country.
It could be a loose connection in the of the unit but it also might be internal to the unit. If it’s something internal it would have to be replaced.
My screen stays on for a day and then goes black. I pull the fuse and put it right back in then its good for another day. Any idea whats going on? 2016 Journey Crossroad
Unfortunately it sounds like your screen is ready to die. I would start investigating your replacement options.
If you happen to have a 5th gen ram and you cant find the fuse...its behind the panel inside the truck under the steering wheel. So easier thing to do is just disconnect the negative terminal for a minute or so and then reconnect (its a #10 socket for the nut on the negative terminal). I've had to do this twice in 4 years of owning my '19 Ram fyi.

Didn't work for me...I replaced a bubbled screen. Turned on..black screen, have sound through radio, no screen. Reinstalled the old screen with the same results...smh
That stinks, I don’t have any experience with screen replacement. It is possible that a scan tool is required to setup the new screen.
So what vehicle EXCATLY are you working on??? The manual for a 2013 300 doesn't list any uconnect fuses at all, front or rear PDC locations

@@TheLawnEngineer There is a "Radio" and a "Radio Screen" fuses in the rear PDC in the trunk with the battery, I just decided to nuke it from orbit and did a battery disconnect which did fix it's black screen issue. Thanks

How about a 2012 screen is black when I go in reverse to back up but it beeps and says check your surroundings but can’t see anything
It sounds like your camera is out.
Screen boots up with main RAM/Uconnect splash screen and then goes dead. Any solution for that?
Unfortunately it sounds like there is a hardware problem and you likely need a new unit.
Easier to just reset radio. Press and hold power on and tuning knobs at same time about 10 to 15 seconds. Resets system and screen comes back to life! Worked on my 23 Ram!
Unfortunately the older units don’t have a power button, I’m glad they added it on the newer units.

What about a 2022 Chevy Silverado?
You should be able to pull the fuse for the radio/infotainment and it will reset the same.

It sounds like Ram 1500s have an inline fuse on the power wire coming from the battery. There is a photo of in on this forum:

I have a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and I've tried all of the fuses, disconnected both batteries, and did the press and hold volume and tuning knob reset technique. Nothing is working. No bad fuses. This problem occui after the Aux. battery died. Both batteries have been replaced and I'm still having issues. Any thoughts?
Is it just the screen not working? What happened when the six battery died?
Unfortunately things can be shorted out when replacing the batteries; especially with the two battery setup. It’s easy to have a live positive touch to a ground.

@@brianingle7226 I know this late but I had to swap with another 20amp fuse for it to work. I think the original fuse had just a little corrosion or something on it

Yes, sometimes the screen won’t respond to the ignition and stay on, draining the battery.

If the reset doesn't fix it, likely something is wrong with the Connect hardware and will require replacement.
For my 2012 model what do they call my fuse dvd module or radio/amplifier
I would think the screen would be with the radio/amplifier and dvd module would be connect to the player. If in doubt, pull them both.
My drivers back door keeps looping and attempts, but fails to completely shut. How can I fix this?

My 2010 with RBZ was working fine until I dimmed it down to level 1 for night mode, next day, came on dim then went total black, still plays music, just nothing on screen, was going to wait until dark to see if it will work in night mode then, bump uplevel to 3 or 4, was on 7 and way too bright for driving in rural areas at night,, may try fuse trick too, bummer, just got the ride, had it a week.. already wishing stuck GM...

@@TheLawnEngineer After it was night, went out to ride and sure enough popped back up in level 1 dim mode, was able to adjust to 5 and now both night n day work, not sure why level 1 on night would affect day, but it works.. live in woods, hate bright lights inside when driving so dimmer the better, guess have to suffer...

Everything should be off. Even with the ignition off, a small amount of power is kept on the radio to retain settings.

You're welcome. Yes it will work to reset your radio but I don't know if that will fix whatever problem you are facing.
My 2013 Dodge Charger rt road and track pack screen is driving me crazy the touch is working sometimes like I can press one thing works then it opens sometimes else or not responsive at all my screen is not bubbling or separating it just started happening two days ago
That sounds very frustrating. Have you tried to take power off for a few minutes to give it a hard reboot? It sounds like it needs a restart.
@@TheLawnEngineer yes I have I’ve left the battery out the car for a day but haven’t check the fuse’s yet also mine says it needs a map update but when I went to the uconncet website it said the update is expired

What's the name of the fuse we should pull?? F76? mine looks nothing like that.
The fuses are labeled on the cover of the box or in your manual. Look for something labeled "telematics" , "radio", or "uconnect."
@@TheLawnEngineerOkay thanks. I don't know how much you know but I tried to disconnect the small 2 cables on the small battery pack and I reconnected them. But when I reconnected the cables I saw a spark coming through, and then it stopped so I continued to connect the 2 cables. So I started my Jeep and now my Jeep is malfunctioning with my high beams flashing on and off windshield wipers, battery indicator is on dashboard is displaying all kinds of indicators and can't roll up my windows and it's giving me the message my car is going to shut down. I can't start my car. And it seems like my battery is draining. Any advice? Thank you

Have you tried the reset? If that didn’t work it sounds like you have a hardware failure and need a new screen/radio unit
I have a dodge charger 2018 and I pulled the radio fuse cause I couldn’t find the uconnect fuse so any help still didn’t work

@@abinadiflores866 I would try to disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes to reset everything. If you have auto start/stop you’ll have to disconnect both batteries.

I had my battery changed and noticed my backup camera didn't work any ideas
Unfortunately, a battery change; if done incorrectly, can damage electrical devices. I would disconnect the neg battery terminal for a few minutes and hope that brings the backup camera alive.
I need help finding the right fuse for 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Thanks for the tip. we have a 2017 Pacifica and this fixed the issue. definitely is taking longer for Uconnect to boot up.
