    A miracle it turned over. Good luck, I think it will run!

    A couple of theories - Maybe partially submerged in a flood. I lost an '84 GTI that way. If you find water in other things, that might point to that. The other theory recalls a visit I had with a Penzoil engineer years ago when we had him in to talk to a bunch of racers. One little tidbit he shared was an old granny grocery getter they found that had a block full of water. For every gallon of gas you burn, there is a gallon of water that should go out the tailpipe. Think of the steam leaving the pipe in the winter. In the case of the engine described, it drove such a short distance, it never got warm enough for the water to heat up enough to leave the tailpipe. If this was a plow, maybe the drive was short and it never got warm enough? I did wonder if you ever got any of your trans fluid down on the lifters. After looking at those pushrods (which I do try and keep in order) I am thinking those lifters were part of the issue. Anyway, I hope your tetnus shots are up-to-date... ;-)

    Next old rusty engine that is stuck, use brake fluid (dot 3) it melts rust! Keep going and it will run.

    Subbed! Love to see this old beauty get saved! Carb rebuild should be easy compared to what u just did, find the pinhead video series, it’s step by step. Can’t wait to see her running! These tractors literally don’t die

    Try using Vinegar, and C.L.R. in the engine to free up the locked engine,,,pull plugs,fill it up.

    Hi i am a newbie. Here lately I have been binge watching your videos. Just watched your stump bucket video. You were having trouble cutting tap roots. This is because your stump bucket is designed to horizontally. If you will make two more triangle teeth and weld them to each side it will then be able to cut the tap roots. Just a suggestion that I think will work. Thank you for giving me something to watch. I hope your channel grows.

      I left out the word cut. Your stump bucket only cuts horizontally... Add teeth will help.

    If it was inside, a bit of condensation builds up each year from the temperature change if it doesn't run to burn it out again. But that looks like way too much water for condensation!

    Thanks for your videos mate, really looking forward to the engine getting started. Where did you get the engine gasket kit from? I'm working on a FJ40 1974 myself and hope to tackle the engine soon. Keep up the good work.

      Bought the gasket set at O'Reilly Auto Parts #FS21218B1.

    i'm pretty sure you can get a rebuild kit for that engine. about $1,200. it can be a slippery slope though. then do you do the distributor? carb? timing gear? fuel pump? before you know it you're at $2,500.

    • @HumbleAcres
      @HumbleAcres  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya I'm going the cheap route. So far I have ordered an engine gasket set and a carb kit. In total $125. We will see where that gets us. Thanks for watching!

    Your rocker assembly is probably rusted solid. I pulled a 2f out of a junk yard cruiser that was locked up because of that.

      @@HumbleAcres That's a bummer. Parts are getting hard to come by for them at least here in the midwest. I sent you an email in the event you have other items you or your family want to sell. After watching you wrestle that six cylinder head off of the Land Rover I thought I should ask if you need an engine hoist or cherry picker as some refer to them. I'm older and have an extra if the need arises for you. Best regards and thank you for the quick response.
