  • This lesson pursues a similar theme to my video Happy Hips 6 but involves some gorgeous new variations that explore the possibility of greater movement in the ribs as you twist and extend the spine.
Its another great lesson for athletes such as golfers, swimmers, cyclists and runner and also for anyone who wants to improve the mobility of their spine and better balance while working on the hips.
Its based up AY 470 'Continuation with standing leg on leg'
Important medical information which you should read before undertaking the lesson:
Always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program. These lessons are not intended to diagnose any medical condition or to replace your healthcare professional.

If you experience any symptoms of weakness, unsteadiness, light-headedness or dizziness, chest pain or pressure, nausea, or shortness of breath. Mild soreness after exercise may be experienced after beginning a new exercise. Contact your physician if the soreness does not improve after 2-3 days.

The results of the progression of this series is nothing short of miraculous in the new found freedom in my hips, legs and feet, (especially my right side) all of which have encountered injuries over the years. I have felt for years like a marionette with its strings crossed inside, but had no clue as to how to get untangled.
This series has ushered my body into a new strength and freedom which feels so deeply grounded and also buoyant, and I've emerged into a new reality of movement that I never knew was possible.
Infinite thanks, Stewart, for your integration and transmission of these wondrous practices.

Thanks Stewart . . . . That unlocked a very tight back caused from hunching over a jigsaw puzzle! 🤦‍♀️ I really appreciate your workouts.

This morning I had a big arch and the right side, from the pelvis to the shoulder was heavier than the other. When the lesson was finished, the big arch was tilted down and I felt my body softened, strange! Have a nice weekend!

Just to say I think the commentary is so well judged on these videos and requires only the occasional glance at the video to aid if confused. It’s so easy to make the mistake of seeing Feldenkrais as an exercise class and lose the mindfulness that is the key to making it work. Fabulous stuff.
Just to add for those wearing Bluetooth earbuds during the sessions. Remember you usually have a pause button on the bud so you can rest or add repetitions while staying focussed.

Hello, Stewart. This lesson has become my favorite, I do it almost everyday (is it ok to do it alone?).
Question: Do I have to do both, the inhaling and exhaling while pressing on below the knee, or can I just inhale while pressing?.
Before I started this lesson, I had my right ribs and upper body turned to the right, so when on the floor on my back, I can sense my right side sticking higher. After preforming this lesson I noticed an improvement, so I started to do it every day.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, you are helping a lot of people like myself.
    Saludos ✌️

Hi Luyz, it's absolutely fine to do the lesson on its own and in the way that you described especially as it is helping you to discover your own organisation and how this can change. Please do continue to let me know how you get on. Best wishes Stewart
