Why do you pick up luck of the hunt side quest? What does it do?
Not a speedrunner of this game but I am a HFW speedrunner and member of the community so I’ll try and explain it as best I can. Whenever you update a quest objective, the game creates an autosave. For the Luck of the Hunt side quest, collecting 4 boar skins is one of the objectives and thus a save is created whenever the 4th skin is collected. In his save file, Elk already has 3 boar skins in his inventory as well as a box containing the 4th skin, which does not count for the quest objective as the skin is in the box and not the inventory. However, whenever he takes the skin out of the box and moves it into the inventory, that updates the quest objective and creates a save. By doing this at GAIA Prime and doing some shenanigans with restarting from save, he can skip some travel time. This trick was discovered by fleur_bleue and Elk has a video about another trick discovered by everydayaussie that used this same trick during Eclipse Base on his main channel if you’re curious.
