First off, have to say, I really appreciate your videos. Very limited information out there on good mods for the Chinese bikes. How are you liking the suspension upgrades now that you've had them for a bit. We're both about the same size, so I'm curious. Thanks and keep the mod vids coming!
Jeremy Troutt much better than what was on there originally actually feels like a bike I could take to a small track and really rail it around definitely a lot better on high speed bumps and a lot easier to control.
Did you ever make a follow up video on the shock adjustment? Also what shock was that I know fast ace but I thought you might have more info

It makes a huge difference in 200lbs without gear now I’m able to ride a lot harder

How is it holding up sir?
For the forks I had a xr70 with a ssr 125 in it and the forks were so soft you could stand over it and bottom it out with 1 hand on the crossbar haha.. what I did was got a quarter ($.25 coin) which was a perfect fit, then a piece of metal conduit cut 1” long and another quarter on top of that so there was even surface pressure on the spring bolt.. made a world of difference. I wouldn’t say it was perfect and I think the only way to get it perfect is to replace the springs that were designed for a 10 year old riding on a flat surface haha. But it definitely took it from extremely harsh to easily rideable. 10/10 would recommend

Will dropping down from the 290mm to a 280mm rear shock work?
Need to slow the rebound down. If you watch the video it goes up too quick and bounces back. Love your videos!
What size front brake line and throttle cable size do you use ? I got taller bars and the throttle and brake line are too short

Nibbi has had other unfav results as well. Great idea with the spacers. You should see the spacers on a tw 200 yamaha.

Ryan Long for the front forks they are just spacers you can find in the nut and bolt isle at Home Depot

I got a old baja dirt runner, but i also have a old 110 three wheeler shock. going to try to fit it on the bike, honestly was just getting tired of the non adjustable piece of crap shock xD

Maybe it needs to be lubed around the bolts
What size are those front fork spacers
They have a bag it's cloth it goes over those kinds of air filters if anyone cares, good upgrades but ride it for awhile till you have all the money for a new carb to

I bought and swapped the crf 50 style plastics over so this way I could have options for graphics. On eBay the plastics are about $30

I noticed that you upgraded to CRF's... did you get tired of the 125cc? I'm looking at an SSR or a Tao for my 13yr old son and I to do some trails in northern WI and out in CO. Trying to keep investment to a minimum, size to be easily transported, and something to learn about motors and such. Do you know of main differences between Tao and SSR?
Tim Kosiek I would say the ssr is built better than the Tao tao from everything I have seen. No we are just wanting to have the best of both worlds

I’m around 100 pounds and just got an ssr 125 can I get an estimate of what the top speed would be?
The top speed on the bike is around 50mph which is pretty fast
First thing i did was to put bigger wheels on 14 rear 17 front
That’s awesome I would say that probably makes your ssr a complete beast

He swapped the stock plastics for crf50 plastics then bought a crf50 graphic kit. You can find tons on eBay and maybe even ones for the stock plastics too

Hey man so since you seem to know what your doing with these things I’m about to buy an ssr 125 used not starting for $400 tomorrow the guy says it was only ridden for 8 hours but he doesn’t know how to fix them he said the chain fell off and then the wheel won’t spin like it’s locked and the bike doesn’t kickstart ljme the kickstart lever is like stuck or something ? Would you know how to fix any help would appreciat
I would be careful if he never changed the original oil in there that motor could be garbage and seized up the oil that comes in these bikes are just brake in oil. Plus 8 hours and it has that many problems idk we have 100 on ours and they still run perfect.
throttle family yea I looked it up and I saw a video saying sometimes when u first get the bike since the kickstart is in a different way then like traditional kickstarts in all the bikes so it is like connected to the clutch or something and not aligned and you can just crank it back into place this guy also doesn’t know much about bikes and said he rather sell it it’s like an older guy who bought it for his son and he said he’s not very good with bikes but if you are it would be easy I’m not goos at all this is gonna be my first bike ever I just really can’t pass up a bike that looks brand new for 400 even if I gotta put some work in to it I’m a broke high school student it’s all I got right now and I just got a job so if I need to add some money in to it and save it I can but I’m hoping it’s just the clutch unaligned with kickstart when I go see the bike tomorrow I’ll ask you and try to show u what the problem ismaybe make a video on the bike to show u exactly what it’s condition is
These bike only kick start in neutral no clutch so maybe that’s the problem a new motor is $250
throttle family yea I’m pretty sure this guy doesn’t even realize the bike just might be in gear and he doesn’t know that but he said the chain fell off then when they put it back on the wheels wouldn’t spin and the kickstart is like not kicking right could be a compression problem as well

So the sizing doesn’t matter? Thought you had to get a 270 but seems the 280 fit just fine
The only thing that matters is the width of the shock in the mounting points.

Ditch the Nibbi (and any other ebay/amazon knock-off carbs). You have to pay more $$$ for a GENUINE Mikuni or Keihin carb, but your life will be much easier when you need gaskets, jets, needles, and other parts. One really good clone (w/some improvements) is the OKO version of the Keihin PWK. It's a D-slide carb (flows really well) that uses Keihin jets and most Keihin parts, like gaskets, float bowls, needles, and such. And sadly, there are even copies of ThIS copy that are junk. You really have to educate yourself to not get burned when buying a carb.
