I put this on my 125 apollo and having issues bogging at low rpm. Thing rips at high rpm. I’m down in Texas so elevation is about 550. Throttle response is great. Think air/fuel screw?
I tried this product on my SSR 110. It was not compatible at all. The carb has no threading for the bolts and neither does the manifold. The bolts provided are not long enough to attach nuts to them either, which no nuts were provided. I’m a little confused? Thanks for any suggestions you can provide
Hello I purchased this same carburetor for my Apollo Rfz x18 and I'm having trouble tuning my carb to run right. When sitting at idle and I rev the motor the idle hangs high and slowly comes back down in rpms. Also if I give very gradual throttle the bike wants to stall out. Do you have any advice? I'm aware this carb comes with a 38 pilot and 95 main jet I'm located 800feet ASL
Ik this is a old post but I need help, I bought this bike and the carburetor and put it on exactly how the video shows but no matter how many tutorials I look up on how to tune a carb now the bike just does this thing where if I give it any throttle while in gear it instantly bogs out and wants to die.. any advice? I've even tried with the fuel screw all the way in and almost all the way out

I see you using bolts with nuts attached. I used the link you provided and the kit does not come with bolts that are long enough to attach nuts. Did you utilize different bolts. Thanks for any help you can provide 😊
I just bought this on amazon. Does it come with the cylinder that drops down in the top of the carb? Mine is messed up and needs a new one. Needle is fine though
@throttle family is the carb upgrade open up the 2nd gear wheelie more mine does just fine with first 2nd grabs sometimes but im 250lbs and that little 125 gets still lol
Definitely does! It all around pulls a lot harder. I had just got used to doing wheelies on it now I have to relearn them because the throttle now tries to kick me off the back when I fully twist it like I used to.

so i bought the ebay mikuni, but the carb that came off my bike was the pz26,. so is this basically same carb, what mm comes factory with the ssr,. my old carb i took off actually ran better lol

Yea we still use them and haven’t had any problems other than needing to adjust the air screw on the bottom and running a wire threw the pilot jet to clean it.
I just ordered this carb for my apollo 125, and I used the same throttle barrel and pin that came with the bike. When I start it, the bike revs really, really high, so I'm thinking I may need to use the throttle parts that came with new carb.🤷♂️💨💨💨💨💨

I put this carburetor on my 2021 ssr 125 and even adjusted the a/f screw as you suggested(other video) and it dies out the second I give it any gas while in gear. I've adjusted it multiple times along with the idle and had zero luck. Any suggestions before I bring it to a shop and just pay someone to fix it

I would recommend the carb upgrade well worth it comes with new filters cold start is much easier and it increases the throttle response go with the 35 dollar carbs and you won’t regret it actually makes the bikes a lot smoother.

Did you get the vm22 ? I bought the vm26 and it was 30mm it's huge the vm22 I got was 26mm . Just wondered if you put in the vn22 (26) Or the vm26(30) carb . Cheers buddy

Zack Skinner 2 maybe or you might have a vacuum leak also is your fuel guage? Another person messaged me saying the same thing and there’s was a vacuum leak but also check if you have gas could just be a simple oversight

It is a knock off mikuni I think for legal purposes they have to take it off the advertising but it is a fake mikuni. They are almost spot on to a real one. Also our link is the cheapest one I have found on Amazon
@@operatorgaming1669 no im not holding in the clutch at all , when i do it dosent kick the pistons therfore I cant start my bike so my hands never on the clutch when I start the bike it just dosent work , another thing to put is that the reason I upgraded was because my old carb it would idle perfectly when the choke was on but when I turned it off it would on turn off unless I was giving it gas. Recently I had got the carberator running but for some issue the bike is back to not starting , my spark plugs are dirty and my spark plug wire is burnt from my exhaust but still worked when the bike ran would this be an issue of a faulty spark plug/spark cable? Sorry for the long paragraphs XD
@@AbanobHDPlayz try tuning your clutch cable I had mines too tight. First reset the clutch cable (winding it all the way back to default) then tune it from there check my channel for video description
@@rubenlarios1370 well u couldnt drive with choke up, its to heat up engine when bike stands still, it takes around 2 minutes then turn choke down (turn off)

Does a bigger carb = faster If so would a bigger carb + carb tune & right jetting + air filter + bigger front/rear sprocket + better fuel + new cdi = power increase?
Yes but to big of a carb could cause a problem and you have to factor if you go with a bigger front sprocket more top speed less torque and if you make the rear bigger less top speed more torque I recommend one or the other
@@throttlefamily4655 so bigger front sprocket but a carb that isn’t to big? I think the one have now will do as it’s in great condition but what about a new cdi box & higher octane fuel?

The bike starts very well now especially on cold starts it fires right up choke on for maybe 5 seconds right off all around great improvement for the price better throttle response and pulls a little harder than before definitely makes the bike a lot more enjoyable.
Hello please I’ve bought this carby and played with the air screw and forgotten what the original setting is. It ran pretty good out of the box so I’d like to go back to that.
Do you recall what the stock settings for the idle and bottom mix screw were? I’ve been screwing with this bike for days. Brand new and it has massive trouble starting and if it does it doesn’t stay going.

Hey i just got a Tao Db17 125cc for my sons first bike and i want to upgrade right away... will this work for that bike and did you switch the L shaped gray metal manifold looking piece that is connected by the 8 mm nut and bolts that connects the carb to the engine block? Also did you use the new throttle spring or the reuse the old one?

@@throttlefamily4655 i also was looking at the air filter.. my tao has a different air filter with a tube connected to it... do you suggest i keep the stock filter or use the new filter? I thought the filter will be better to use the new one but it is configured different then the stock one so i dont know if that will cause a problem for the carb?
Okay, I have a 125cc coolster pit bike. The air filter has a tube coming out of it so it isn’t a closed face like the new carburetor would be. Would I be able to reroute it to fit?
Yeah I have the same bike and I changed replaced the carb yesterday and ran into the same problem and I literally just ended up tucking the tube in alil grove to sit there.

Just put mine on and same issue. The throttle cable was a tad short and pulling up on slide and causing high rev on idle. Adjusted the cable housing and works great now.

I’m used to having a battery with four wheelers to do this stuff. Made it a lot easier. Almost just want to mount small battery and charge it after every other use but I’m. It sure yet. I just want to have brake lights for the road and a head light so people can see me better during the day. I only rode back roads nothing major.

I think as long as they have the right diameter, then they'll fit tbf. Even if they're a tiny bit smaller than the bars, it'll squeeze on.

Take the jets out and clean them sometimes they have metal shavings in there in the morning

When I adjust the idle, should the choke be facing up or down? I’m a beginner trying to learn
down turned off u only use choke to start bike when engine is cold

@@rubenlarios1370 well u couldnt drive with choke up, its to heat up engine when bike stands still, it takes around 2 minutes then turn choke down (turn off)
I bought the same carb for my 2020 ssr 125 pitbike an installed it an it just not stop bogging out and when u turn the choke off it don’t stay running I don’t know what to do
There is a screw on the very bottom of the carb screw it all the way in then out one turn

Does a bigger carb = faster
If so would a bigger carb + carb tune & right jetting + air filter + bigger front/rear sprocket + better fuel + new cdi = power increase?
Yes but to big of a carb could cause a problem and you have to factor if you go with a bigger front sprocket more top speed less torque and if you make the rear bigger less top speed more torque I recommend one or the other
@@throttlefamily4655 so bigger front sprocket but a carb that isn’t to big? I think the one have now will do as it’s in great condition but what about a new cdi box & higher octane fuel?
@@G6Emaniac I always run 91 in our bike and the CSU can help but can also cause problems so be careful when you choose which one you use

What should you do if your filter already has a cable on it ?
APOLLO GANG You can re route the tube it is a breather filter or you can try and use your original filter.

Just put this on my ssr 125 and every time I throttle the bike bogs and dies out …. Any solutions for this problem
The pilot jet might be clogged sometimes they have metal shavings from factory I usually clean these out first thing

Did you have to adjust the air/fuel mixture or did you run it straight from the box?
Straight out of the box and when we took it out riding in our newest video it did great. Not one problem the whole day.
The bike starts very well now especially on cold starts it fires right up choke on for maybe 5 seconds right off all around great improvement for the price better throttle response and pulls a little harder than before definitely makes the bike a lot more enjoyable.
Hello please I’ve bought this carby and played with the air screw and forgotten what the original setting is. It ran pretty good out of the box so I’d like to go back to that.
Do you recall what the stock settings for the idle and bottom mix screw were? I’ve been screwing with this bike for days. Brand new and it has massive trouble starting and if it does it doesn’t stay going.

The nibbi carb is an awesome option. Sounds great and is way better than the stock carb it needs a little adjusting but will be perfect.

should you use the intake that comes with the carb? or original one
They both should be exactly the same so it’s whatever you prefer

well, i been messing with carb today i cant get it perfect, it still wants to bog some, ive tried screwing in n out bottom screw various turns,. i cant get it perfect
it just seems super sensitive
Hey i just got a Tao Db17 125cc for my sons first bike and i want to upgrade right away... will this work for that bike and did you switch the L shaped gray metal manifold looking piece that is connected by the 8 mm nut and bolts that connects the carb to the engine block? Also did you use the new throttle spring or the reuse the old one?
I kept the old manifold and I used the new spring the carburetor yes it will work 👍

If so what chain do you recommend or is it even worth to do this upgrade at all on my sons first cheap chinese dirtbike at all? Let ne know what you think?
@@throttlefamily4655 i also was looking at the air filter.. my tao has a different air filter with a tube connected to it... do you suggest i keep the stock filter or use the new filter? I thought the filter will be better to use the new one but it is configured different then the stock one so i dont know if that will cause a problem for the carb?

Okay, I have a 125cc coolster pit bike. The air filter has a tube coming out of it so it isn’t a closed face like the new carburetor would be. Would I be able to reroute it to fit?
Yes that tube is just a breather tube and you can reroute it.

Yeah I have the same bike and I changed replaced the carb yesterday and ran into the same problem and I literally just ended up tucking the tube in alil grove to sit there.
Okay, I just now got around to ordering this carb, so where do I reroute the breather tube?

Just put mine on and same issue. The throttle cable was a tad short and pulling up on slide and causing high rev on idle. Adjusted the cable housing and works great now.
How did you adjust the cable housing?

I believe so but you may need to get a smaller one like a 22mm

So i bought one after seeing your video, i installed it exactly like you but my ssr 125 bogs down as soon as i pull throttle now
You may need to turn the air screw on the bottom turn it all the way in then out one rotation. Also do you have gas in it?

Believe it or not that is the stock muffler it is just a bit louder now that the carb flows air and fuel better 👍

Defiantly looking for a head light and brake light for this and I guess a rectirfier. Can I do both head like and brake light of that one or no. I’m new to all this fun stuff lol
I’m used to having a battery with four wheelers to do this stuff. Made it a lot easier. Almost just want to mount small battery and charge it after every other use but I’m. It sure yet. I just want to have brake lights for the road and a head light so people can see me better during the day. I only rode back roads nothing major.
You can put a fmf complete exhaust system on them, my grandson on his coolerst 125cc has a custom FMF pipe on it
