Coach Carter and Remember the Titans are so much more than just one great speech. They are truly inspirational movies about how to get through history's toughest trials (fighting through racism and poverty).
filipmisko its motivational to see how two group of people hate till death in all town. and how they come to become together. plus its so fucking good.
I can't believe Rocky was so low on the list along with Warrior. Not to mention that great Sports movies like The Fighter, Cinderella Man, and I'll even include The Wrestler weren't even on this list.
We're working on a top 10 sports speeches (here's Top 10 Movie Battle Speeches) and both Coach Carter AND Remember the Titans will be on it... so between that list and the upcoming Denzel Washington top 10 movies list (which will feature RtT), we made the decision to omit Remember the Titans from this list, as that would have made it 3 lists in a fairly short span of time.
Hey WatchMojo.com , I've seen your history and I see you have gone so far and great from lingerie vids to so much more interesting facts of entertainment. You guys are awesome. Also, are you guys Batman fans? Because I have seen many questionable videos that always top Batman... or maybe it's just me.
Our Tennis coach had us all watch Rudy before a big match. The team we played had beaten us everytime for the last 20 years. After watching Rudy, we won the match. Goes to show you how inspirational it can be.
Invictus, Goal and United should of been here. Perhaps a list of inspirational sports movies centred more around more popular European sports would be a good idea.
Not gonna act all big and bad by being all caps on the internet, but WatchMojo, if you thought Remember the Titans was a one quote movie you should stop making movie lists.
I was genuinely surprised that Warrior was number 10. I've seen a lot of sports movies over my time but this movie was extremely touching and I remember sitting in awe when it was over. Either way, amazing list!
This list was so biased towards American sports. (Not that there are many good soccer movies) But where was Invictus that was one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Top 10 Embarrassing Moments in Film. You know, the moments where a character did or said something that just made you cringe and cover your face with secondhand embarrassment.
In my eyes, any one of the movies numbers 1-6 could be number 1. Those are such great movies, it really comes down to preference. For me, based on pure inspirational sports movies, Rocky is number 1.
Great list, I was beginning to think I was the only one who loved Rudy. I wish Remember the Titians or Invictus made the list but I understand that they had to keep it at 10.
Coach Carter is the most inspirational movie. I love the most how he talks calm instead of getting angry too to Timo Cruz and how Cruz thank him after the death of his cousin. Even though they wouldn't win the last game, they always try their best.
I would have put Warrior higher on the list, but I have to commend you for including this unfortunately oft-neglected cinematic gem on the list at all. Keep up the great work.
glory road, remember the titans, rudy, rocky, radio, we are marshall, miracle, karate kid, the express, and 42 would be my top 10 with the sandlot little giants mighty ducks hoosiers and angles in the outfied being honorable mentions but not really serious enough movie to make the list....bull durham and brains song deserve credit for being well written sports films, I just don't personally like those films as much as others....I don't care about what sport it is..tell me an interesting story and give me likeable characters and I'm good.....the 10 films I chose represent that in spades...space jam may be the worst in that regard..
I take it Remember the Titans wasn't included because it was considered only to be inspirational because of the one speech? Also, I would have liked to see Cinderella Man on this list, it's one of my favorite movies of all time.
Uhh no it wasn't inspirational just because of that one scene. The entire movie was an inspiration based upon the fact that they originally did not put aside their racial differences to play football. However, they not only managed to overcome that acrimony but all became best friends. That's NOT an inspiration? We will have to agree to disagree (but I respect your opinion)
cajayson8301 No, I agree with you on the Remember the Titans thing, I thought it was a very inspirational movie. But as they stated at the beginning of the video, they're omitting movies that contain only one inspirational speech, and they showed Herman Boone's "Gettysburg" speech. I was just inferring based on the given information.
These are my favorites of all-time!! #1) Warrior #2) Million dollar baby #3) Coach Carter #4) Brian's song #5) Remember the Titans #6) Invictus #7) Jerry Maguire #8) The Blind side #9) Hurricane #10)Ford vs Ferrari And honorable mentions *Seabisquit *Slap shot *Rudy *Miracle *I,Tonya *Bull Durham *Moneyball *Raging Bull
Honestly, Rocky I or Rocky IV should be #1, a million to 1 shot and fighting in Russian with zero American supporters, although Rudy RESPECTIVELY deserves #2 or #3. Field of Dreams, I honestly would not have put it on this list.
coach carter will always be one of my favorites. also rudy is a great movie, but it kinda takes away from it knowing that rudy himself asked it to be made. if your story was good enough someone would have done it without you asking for it to be done.
i read his book its actually pretty impressive that he got the movie made the odds of his life story being turned into a major motion picture were every bit as small as his chance of playing for notre dame. some people would actually see Rudy's determination to tell his story as inspirational itself. That being said I agree with you, learning about Rudy's narcissism and ego was kind of a turn off. I also found it to be kind of hypocritical that this kid who prided himself on being an underdog and representation of the little guy would only go to notre dame (at the time one of the top teams, Nat'champs in '73) and from his book where he said he "rooted for the Yankees because they were winners" despite living near Chicago his entire childhood. Also a lot of the film is "hollywoodized" unnecessarily like the turning in of the jerseys and making Coach Dan Devine a villian when in actuality it was his idea for Rudy to suitup and play. Coach Carter was a great film as well very inspirational and had a great message about the importance of education.
Remember the titans Warrior Cinderella man Race 2016 Rush 2013 Seabiscuit 2003 The blind side 2009 The natural 1984 Rocky 1976 Hoosiers 1986 The fighter 2010 Miracle 2004 Million dollar baby Field of dreams 1989 Brian's song 1970 Rudy 1993 Ford vs ferrari
No remember the Titans?? Rocky below all sorts of "never watch twice" movies. Boring old field of dreams in the top ten? No room for We are Marshal? Worst Mojo list ever
no offense man but, Rudy is about a guy who works for something that he really wants only to make the practice team. The closest he gets to actually playing is when the coach gives him one pity play at the end because the games pretty much already over.
After reading a lot of comments I agree this list wasn't diverse enough. My pick of 11 inspirational movies of different sports : Golf: The Greatest Game ever played. Ice skating: Ice Castles Horse racing: Ruffian ( or Racing Stripes) Martial Arts: Karate Kid (original) Surfing: Soul Surfer Basketball: Coach Carter Football: Remember the Titans (or Facing the Giants) Hockey: Mighty Ducks 1 Track and field: Chariots of fire Bobsledding: Cool Running Boxing: Rocky ( Or The Champ)- Sorry if my omitting Soccer (Association football) offends anyone but the only soccer movies I could think of were comedies and Watchmojo excluded them. I can't remember ever watching any of the Goal! movies.
"Rudy," #1? Joe Montana-who was a "teammate" during Rudy's days at Notre Dame-when asked about the accuracy of the movie..."No Comment" ...accompanied by a good chuckle.
Rudy is definitely the best choice for number one. First of all, it's a true story, and second of all, Rudy went against all odds. Rudy is my favorite movie of all time and I've only seen it three times. Dayum I love that movie so much.
The ultimate antithesis to all these inspirational sports movies: South Park episode #1014 Stanley's Cup. Stan's pee-wee hockey team is massacred by the Detroit Redwings and the kid in the hospital dies of cancer and a because of losing hope. "No hope..." flatline. My top 10 10. Bloodsport 9. Rudy 8. Invincible 7. We are Marshall 6. Rocky 5. Hoosiers 4. Miracle 3. Seabiscuit 2. The greatest game ever played 1. Cinderella man
This should be called "Top 10 Inspirational American Sports movies" because I don't think a lot of non Amerikans would be inspired in any way by this movies. except maybe "Miracle"

His complete bullshit? Anyway, there ARE better movies out there than some on this list, but WatchMojo is an American channel about American topics (unless they specify otherwise), so don't expect non-American films. Bend it Like Beckham, Cool Runnings, Chariots of Fire. But...I don't see how Rocky can be anything but number 1.
Shular67 Rocky being as low on the list as it was....that was a little bit of a surprise, but Rudy deserves the top slot, since it's based on a true story. So is Hoosiers. Any time the underdog comes thru with such amazing fortitude and guts, it is worth a heck of a lot.
Mark Wahlberg's "The Fighter" and "Invincible" should have made the list; Russel Crowe's "Cinderella Man" too. And by all means ROCKY is the n.1 movie when it comes to sport, inspiration, motivation and anything else you may think about
Coach Carter was the best.
Vince lombardi: hold my bear...
@Gaurav 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Glory Road. It's like a tale.
Used u should wach ameture
Coach Carter and Remember the Titans are so much more than just one great speech. They are truly inspirational movies about how to get through history's toughest trials (fighting through racism and poverty).
Where was Remember the Titans? When j think inspirational sports movies, I think Remember the Titans
did you not hear the part about "we excluded funny movies, or ones with 1 great speech"
Unless you are still living 50 years back from now, it's touching, but not motivational...damn
filipmisko its motivational to see how two group of people hate till death in all town. and how they come to become together. plus its so fucking good.
@@shko-mi I think that film applies now more than ever. Take a look at America now.
My #1 inspirational movie is probably Coach Carter!
Love that movie!
Heck yeah thats like the heart of basketball
Definitely.
Remember the titans
I can't believe Rocky was so low on the list along with Warrior. Not to mention that great Sports movies like The Fighter, Cinderella Man, and I'll even include The Wrestler weren't even on this list.
What about Remember the Titan???
amazing movie
They FORGOT it
My favourite movie
its at the begining but they said they wouldnt add it
Yea
"Million Dollar Baby" and "42"
We're working on a top 10 sports speeches (here's Top 10 Movie Battle Speeches) and both Coach Carter AND Remember the Titans will be on it... so between that list and the upcoming Denzel Washington top 10 movies list (which will feature RtT), we made the decision to omit Remember the Titans from this list, as that would have made it 3 lists in a fairly short span of time.

Also, are you guys Batman fans? Because I have seen many questionable videos that always top Batman... or maybe it's just me.
You need to include the pregame speech by Pachino in Any Given Sunday. Even if it got ripped off in the cheesiest commercial of all time
What if Remember the Titans made into 3 lists in a short span of time, the film greatly inspired people back that time and what about GLORY ROAD
Rodolfo P. Jacinto II
make a video of top 10 quoted moviees i also suggested it on ur website
Our Tennis coach had us all watch Rudy before a big match. The team we played had beaten us everytime for the last 20 years. After watching Rudy, we won the match. Goes to show you how inspirational it can be.
Invictus, Goal and United should of been here. Perhaps a list of inspirational sports movies centred more around more popular European sports would be a good idea.
Remember the Titans should be number 1! And its not even in te top 10 :(
I agree!
I agree
My 3 favorites are
1. Remember the Titans

3. Field of Dreams
What about Coach Carter?
And about gridion gang

Not gonna act all big and bad by being all caps on the internet, but WatchMojo, if you thought Remember the Titans was a one quote movie you should stop making movie lists.
"Making a slam dunk"
(Lays it in)
Lol

I was genuinely surprised that Warrior was number 10. I've seen a lot of sports movies over my time but this movie was extremely touching and I remember sitting in awe when it was over. Either way, amazing list!
Fully agree. I actually cried at the end and the last time I did that to a movie was ET when I was a kid.
Thank god i was searching for it..to watch again
42, Glory Road, Coach Carter, Remember the Titans, Invincible, Goal. All these should be on here.
Remember the titans isn't a movie just known for one speech! It's a better movie than all of these
This list was so biased towards American sports. (Not that there are many good soccer movies) But where was Invictus that was one of the best movies I've ever seen.
I even thougt for a moment that Invictus will be the number 1, but nope.... alll for the damn american dream
This list was biased to Caucasians
Goal 1 and 2 were great movies
Yonathenlotus

Top 10 Embarrassing Moments in Film. You know, the moments where a character did or said something that just made you cringe and cover your face with secondhand embarrassment.
I really think that We Are Marshall should be there.
Sam Kingsway excellent film
Where's Cinderella Man? The Wrestler? Any Given Sunday? Mystery, Alaska?
Cinderella Man wasn't first on the list? I'm confused.
Rhonda Picha Completely agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coach Carter is definetly my favourite...
I agree. It needs to be a top 15 or top 20 list!
I'm sure they'll do a part two. There are so many fantastic sports movies that they simply can't put them all in a top 10 list.
Coach Carter is the most inspirational movie. I love the most how he talks calm instead of getting angry too to Timo Cruz and how Cruz thank him after the death of his cousin. Even though they wouldn't win the last game, they always try their best.
Good choice there,my friend!
You guys forgot the Rocket, the one movie about Maurice Richard. (hockey)
Rocky only number 6? I'm not even done watching this list but i have to strongly disagree.
We are Marshall, Facing the Giants, Remember the Titans??
Remember the Titans is my all time favorite!!!❤️❤️❤️
I would have put Warrior higher on the list, but I have to commend you for including this unfortunately oft-neglected cinematic gem on the list at all. Keep up the great work.

I am Indian and even though I do not understand American Football, I found We are Marshall truly inspirational..... needs a special mention
I take it Remember the Titans wasn't included because it was considered only to be inspirational because of the one speech? Also, I would have liked to see Cinderella Man on this list, it's one of my favorite movies of all time.

Watch rocky it has 6 parts when you finish it watch creed 1 and creed 2 you willl love it
42 is the best
Cinderella man was the greatest. He fought the depression, life and every fighter in the division.
Honestly, Rocky I or Rocky IV should be #1, a million to 1 shot and fighting in Russian with zero American supporters, although Rudy RESPECTIVELY deserves #2 or #3. Field of Dreams, I honestly would not have put it on this list.
WTF? Rocky at 6? WRONG!!!
World's best movie
I would've added remember the titans and rocky four. Those two almost had as much impact on my childhood as when ooguay died
coach carter will always be one of my favorites. also rudy is a great movie, but it kinda takes away from it knowing that rudy himself asked it to be made. if your story was good enough someone would have done it without you asking for it to be done.

I would've given 'Cool Runnings' an honorable mention. :)

Agreed Rudy shouldn't have even been on this list.
Arlo Gonzales Dude i totally disagree the score makes the movie great. But it also is called an inspirational sports list. That is what Rudy is about.
no offense man but, Rudy is about a guy who works for something that he really wants only to make the practice team. The closest he gets to actually playing is when the coach gives him one pity play at the end because the games pretty much already over.
im sorry but how wasnt rrocky in the top 2 this didnt make sense i can watch it over and over again and not get bored its just a well rounded movie
After reading a lot of comments I agree this list wasn't diverse enough. My pick of 11 inspirational movies of different sports :
Golf: The Greatest Game ever played.
Ice skating: Ice Castles
Horse racing: Ruffian ( or Racing Stripes)
Martial Arts: Karate Kid (original)
Surfing: Soul Surfer
Basketball: Coach Carter
Football: Remember the Titans (or Facing the Giants)
Hockey: Mighty Ducks 1
Track and field: Chariots of fire
Bobsledding: Cool Running

"Rudy," #1? Joe Montana-who was a "teammate" during Rudy's days at Notre Dame-when asked about the accuracy of the movie..."No Comment" ...accompanied by a good chuckle.
+Half Cent Chet true, the movie wasn't a true story, but Hollywood loves to call everything a "true story". Makes people like it more.
Underdogs,Coach Carter, Remember The Titans, Come on watchmojo
Rudy is definitely the best choice for number one. First of all, it's a true story, and second of all, Rudy went against all odds. Rudy is my favorite movie of all time and I've only seen it three times. Dayum I love that movie so much.
Invictus ?

The ultimate antithesis to all these inspirational sports movies: South Park episode #1014 Stanley's Cup.
Stan's pee-wee hockey team is massacred by the Detroit Redwings and the kid in the hospital dies of cancer and a because of losing hope. "No hope..." flatline.
It's so terrible and so funny at the same time, if you have a cruel and dark sense of humor xD The perfect offset to all of these "feel good" movies.

7. We are Marshall
6. Rocky

Rudy was the "BEST" pick.
This should be called "Top 10 Inspirational American Sports movies" because I don't think a lot of non Amerikans would be inspired in any way by this movies. except maybe "Miracle"
First of all it's Americans not "amerikans", and pretty much the only movie non Americans wouldn't be inspired by is miricle it's about the USA defeating the USSR.
I Love Miracle!
Rocky?

8. The Fighter
7. Cinderella Man
6. A Beautiful Mind
5. Heaven is for Real
4. Julie and julia
3. Big Eyes
2. Rudy
1. Temple Grandin
Rudy is good, but come on... Rocky all the way!
Rocky is good, but the fact that Rudy was based on a true story makes a tad more real motivation
Not a bad list!
But no Chariots of Fire? I mean come on the soundtrack by Vangelis makes the movie even more amazing!
Rock III should be #1 EYE OF THE TIGER every athlete in america was training to that music.
Where is "Goal" or "Goal 2"? Just because its Football or Soccer for anericans its not on your list
Where it is???
Goal franchise? Cool runnings? invictus? These are about triple as good as the films on this list and about 5 times as inspirational. This list is complete bullshit
Your complete bullshit
His complete bullshit? Anyway, there ARE better movies out there than some on this list, but WatchMojo is an American channel about American topics (unless they specify otherwise), so don't expect non-American films. Bend it Like Beckham, Cool Runnings, Chariots of Fire. But...I don't see how Rocky can be anything but number 1.
Shular67 Rocky being as low on the list as it was....that was a little bit of a surprise, but Rudy deserves the top slot, since it's based on a true story. So is Hoosiers. Any time the underdog comes thru with such amazing fortitude and guts, it is worth a heck of a lot.
agreed
Dwarven Slig hey you are right about Invictus, but Goal is a a bad one, that is fan service
Mark Wahlberg's "The Fighter" and "Invincible" should have made the list; Russel Crowe's "Cinderella Man" too. And by all means ROCKY is the n.1 movie when it comes to sport, inspiration, motivation and anything else you may think about
Cinderella man is the best sport movie
if this had been done in 2016, I wonder where McFarland, USA would be
Where's Facing the Giants, or Remember the Titans???
The only bad thing with facing the Giants is that the actor's acting is almost unbearable
Where is Rocky IV?
You also have to remember how cheap of budget they had on facing the Giants
5. Miracle Season
4. Pele
3. Remember the titans
2. We are Marshall
1. Invictus
Where is Million Dollar Baby if not here ???

Wartortle yep
whoa whoa whoa... how could you possibly forget Dodge ball, A true underdog story. That movie gave me the feels!
