The big problem for Della is that she wasn't prepared for a kid like Dewey. Della was expecting to teach her kids how to adventure - be the one who encourages them to do all they can, and help them overcome their insecurities. Be there to pick them up when they stumble and fall. Dewey... is not that kind of kid. He is usually the one charging ahead and trying new things with gusto. He needs someone to hold him back, and stop him before he gets hurt. So on one hand we have Della trying to hype up the adventure, telling her son that she believes he can do anything and trying to push him along. On the other hand we have Dewey wanting to push ahead on his own, and wanting to prove he is great at adventuring. This leads to a feedback loop, where Della is trying to get Dewey to test his limits, who in turn tries to go beyond his limits, which leads to Della thinking she can push him further and so on... The only reason this doesn't end in disaster is that Della actually HAS matured somewhat since she stole the Spear of Selene. She may charge ahead to adventure - but she also tries to have an exit strategy. The Della of today might still take the Spear if given the opportunity, but she would also bring some emergency equipment... and probably check the space weather forecast first. If Della hadn't learned this lesson - Dewey would be dead. But she did, and was able to lead her family to safety because of it.
As something of a Disney nerd, I loved that the colors Ludwig Von Drake used for the passcode are from the iconic "Spectrum Song" from his first appearance back in 1961, An Adventure in Color. He also sang a version of the song to acknowledge black and white TV sets.
In Della's defense, actually flying a plane is a relatively simple task to do. It's takeoff and landing that are the complicated parts. Plus, she's still at the controls in case anything goes wrong. It's not like Dewey can be a worse pilot than *Launchpad*. Oh, and Owlson does get her moment eventually, but I won't say when. That'll be for you to decide...
I wouldn't say she's not accustomed to caring for someone else, she's always cared for her adventuring companions. It's just that she's not accustomed to being responsable for someone else. someone who doesn't know their own limits and will go beyond their safe zone to try and please her. That's new.
Because she really does not have any experience, she seems to act more like a big sister than a mother. I love the scene where Dewey and Della are singing while driving. Reminds me of me and my mother
Okay, so ya know how in that one episode where Dewey and Scrooge went back in time on Christmas Eve and Dewey ended up with young Donald and Della. Well it showed that Donald and Della had a room at Scrooge’s place, I think, implying that they lived there. Which makes me think that Donald and Della, at some point in their lives at least, were raised by Scrooge, their uncle, rather than there Mom or Dad. Which makes me think that, if that is the case, Della is probably going to have an even harder time knowing how to act like a mother to Dewey, Huey, and Louie because she doesn’t have any mother-figure from growing up to reflect on “oh so this is the mother thing to do in this situation.” Although, not that she technically needs to act like a mother but she wants to so... I have faith she’ll with time. As with all parents/guardians really
It also doesn't help that the kids are all pre-teens. Infants may be stressful, but they are somewhat simple and allows you to learn how to be a parent. Which is why Donald is more of a dad than an uncle. Which is one of the major reasons he was sent to the moon. Scrooge raised donald and della, so he has already gone through what della is, which is why hes so understanding of her situation. However, its still an uncle as a guardian. Not a parent. Della is their actual mother, picking up the mantle when her kids are old enough to take care of themselves but young enough to not know when they are over their head. On top of that, there's three of them if you don't count webbie. She really has her work cut out for her. Which Im glad they tackle throughout the season.
Scrooge never raised the boys. If you remember the flashback at the end of "The Last Flight of the Sunchaser", we see Donald leaving Scrooge with three eggs in tow. That was the unhatched triplets.
Wait... so his name is Dewford Dingus Duck? That's .. an unfortunate sounding name. But, I guess it makes sense in-universe since his GreatGreat Grandad's name was "Dirty" Dingus McDuck
Just realized how good the location of the seed vault is. It's located in the Tundra. They're assuming that by the time the world ends, global warming would have developed quite a bit more and melted the snow and stuff. That way, there would be an ocean around the vault that, with people being able to sail a boat directly to it.
DuckTales is basically doing what Peridot did when she joined the Crystal Gems; bonding individually with one of the main characters in each episode. However, Della won't show up again for another 5 episodes. Also, let's just say that bonding with Huey and Louie isn't going to be as easy for Della as bonding with Dewey.
Owlson is low key one of the best original characters, she's such a hard worker and so honest, I am actually kind of low key afraid if they were to turn her bad guy, like that would be something.
As nice as it is that her first adventure with Dewey is touching cuz of their love for adventure, I want you to remember that Della has spent a decade on the moon (talking to herself and chewing black licorice flavored gum) and it’s no surprise it’s drivin’ her pretty insane to not think clearly most of the time
So...these are great reactions, but I'm kinda sad knowing where we are with the reactions as the show was just officially cancelled. We're getting an "epic" series finale at some point in the future, but still...

It's really heartwarming to see Dewey spend quality time with his mother after so much time learning about her and searching for her
Dewey definitely has a mom complex, if Nightmare on Killmotor Hill is any judge of the matter.

No wonder when I heard the song I was like why does it sound so familiar lol 👀✨
Exactlyyy 😍 i was heartbroken when she didn't flinch when Von Drake sang it
Blend them all and what do you get? Cerichia, Tous, and Aqua!
Mauve, Beige, and Aquamarine,
And every color in between!
I really love the Ludwig password used. Such a cute little reference to his first ever appearance in media.

Fun Fact: The Doomsday Vault of seeds is a thing IRL in Norway. It's called the Global Seed Vault.
Too bad the money tree probably isn't
yep, i thought most people knew that-
They really missed out on the naming opportunity.
it took me 2 and a half seasons to realize that Zan Owlson is named for the executive producer Suzanne Olson.
That's pretty long considering she was only introduced in Season 2...
@@Rognik It just means I had a whole season to notice the first credit at the end of every episode.
It took me until now to realize that
Hello Zamber.
Della took her first official step into being a Mom the minute she looked down while Dewey was climbing up to get the Money Tree seeds.
I wouldn't say she's not accustomed to caring for someone else, she's always cared for her adventuring companions. It's just that she's not accustomed to being responsable for someone else. someone who doesn't know their own limits and will go beyond their safe zone to try and please her. That's new.
And someone who needs more care and attention.
@jf k Yeah, she basically has to learn everything about her kids.

Technically, his first name is "Deuteronomy", but because of Donald's speech impediment, they called him Dewford.

Glomgold is such a fun and hilarious villain
Della truly Is the best mom other wish they had! ^^
Owlsons default mode these days is basically "internal screaming."
@3:58 I love that Goofy movie reference with the song they were singing! 😁

@@cinemaniac6599 Pretty sure she stopped watching using production order since Disney+ fixed it's episode order
She probably watched it already but I feel like she’s gonna LOVE the episode with Donald
Why do I get 'I'm in love with my rival but I'm too petty to say it' vibes from Glomgold? Lmao
Lol i feel that it's more of a Joker/Batman relationship cause Glomgold is more obsessed with Scrooge rather than love and he wants to see him fail

Omg what was that ending
The dog barking and the code what is thattt
Stand Out!
Disney said on Twitter that the third season is the last season

That seed doomsday vault is based on a real place as well, although I think I remember them having issues with climate change related flooding too.
Noice another ducktales episode
I feel for Owlson, I really do.
good ol zamber arg
3:58 the best part of the episode
Did you know that Adventure Time Obsidian came out?
